Just sitting still with no transfers it gets noticeably warm. I'm using it at the end of an extension cable, and I don't think I'll be ever plugging it in directly at this temperature. Still. I just installed an OS from it, and it worked fine. It's a flash drive. Don't expect SSD performance, protect your machine from its possible heat-death and whatever form that might take, and it's fine. It isn't always recognized and needs unplugged and plugged back in; not dinging a star for it overall because it's at the end of a long'ish extension cable. 2 stars off due to the heat. I know they get warm, but this is actually hot. You can sort of hold it when it's that hot. Too disinterested to take such an inexpensive, limited use item back for a replacement.

I took it in to Geek Squad and they put my pictures on the disk and now I am happy.
