I didn't realize how short these were when I bought them but they work well as the bridge between my dock and MacBook Pro.
They do indeed support full 40Gbps throughput while simultaneously supporting 100W USB C throughput.
The ends are 90 degrees off from each other, which is perfect for making an L shape with the cable, so don't expect it to lay flat. Because the cable is so short, this may be a deal breaker, so for reference, your MacBook has USB-C ports running horizontally, so if you have a dock next to it, you will want the USB-C port to be vertical, or the cable will twist.
Satechi makes one of the only TB4 100W cables that is of good quality, and at a much better price than Apple's $100-200 TB4 cables. The braided is also nice, as it doesn't turn yellow and sticky like Apple cables.
