I loved the books as a kid but this movie is basically inspired by the books so Guillermo Del Toro made an original story centered around characters from the books. Overall he did a pretty good job. Wished they released this in October during the Halloween season.

I personally enjoyed the movie. I thought it had some decent “pop” scares. It definitely had a pretty good storyline all in all with some pretty good actors as well. Definitely a good movie all an all. If you’re into horror movies, you should definitely check this out!!!

This movie was high on my list to check out this year and when I finally did, I was just not into it as I would have hoped. I love the practical effects and such, but overall it was just falling short of the expectations I had for this film:

I saw this movie in the theaters and just knew I had to buy it when it came out on blu-ray/dvd. This is one of the creepiest movies (in a good way) that I've seen in a long time. Get ready to be scared and creeped out. I highly recommend this movie!!

The tension builds, the special effects are gruesome, and most of all the film is fun for both young and old moviegoers, however, Scary Stories struggles to break through and get around to making whatever additional point it had in mind.

If you read the books then you’ll like this. Today’s horror films are mediocre but this one here I was pleased with. This movie kept me interested all the way to the end. And the 4K quality brings the visuals to the pike of impressive effects.

Was a great crafty way of a new scary horror film. I feel like so many are remakes cause they have all been done before, but this one really catches your eye with the story line, witty creepiness' and new way of horror film. Worth watching!

Very suspenseful. The first stories keep you tuned in. The next story grabs you by the throat. The air is hard to breathe until the end when you don't really expect the outcome. Will you still breathe heavily after watching?

Just turn off the lights and sit on your sofa with your partner or friends and be scared out of your wits! He does it again! Guillermo Del Toro is such a talented writer of screenplays not to mention Producer & Director too!

This is for anyone who’s a fan of Stranger Things! Combine great classic fire side stories with the nostalgic feel of Stranger Things and you get this movie! Loved it and worth watching over and over with friends and family.

Was a huge fan of these books growing up as a kid in the 80s. Movie was done pretty well. I wouldn’t say it’s awesome. More geared towards teenagers. I think the teenage version of me would’ve liked it.

This movie is a lot of fun! Yes, it is a scary movie that is made for a younger audience, but it never talks down to them. It has plenty of scary moments. It will go down as a cult classic in the next few years.

My daughter loved these books as a child! We saw the film together and we absolutely loved it! Especially my daughter! Great respect to a great book series that scared my daughter when she was little! Excellent!

I really enjoyed this movie from the Scary Stories series I read as a child and as a teenager. The movie is macabre with creepy effects/creatures without the use of bloodshed. Highly recommended!

Loved the mission of the jump scares as I find them to be cheap. Great story line and interesting to see the stories come to life through the directors vision. 5 stars if it was an R rating.

This brought back memories to me as a kid, its about some kids who go to a house and take something they are not supposed to, and then bad things start to happen! Great movie definitely reccomend!

This movie has a good story line and is entertaining. Can't go wrong with Blu-Ray.

This movie was pretty decent. It had a few memorable scenes and kept me interested throughout, although there were moments that felt like it slowed down a bit. Still worth a watch!

Worth viewing. Pleasantly surprised. Recommend for even those who normally don't watch horror. All consuming flick. Story well woven together with excellent special effects.
