This safe has a very heavy-duty feel to the outside. However, the interior appears much less substantial. There are no vertical locking bars, so only the 4 horizontal bars secure the safe. The bars themselves feel, and sound (when you tap them), like chrome shells that are not solid all the way through. When in the locked position, the bars slide into angled molds of the interior walls. These walls are made of plastic. Between the shallow angles and the plastic walls, I suspect that the lock is much less secure than its appearance suggests. The lock is a numerical passcode, and you can add up to 4 different passcodes, in addition to the original code sent with the lock. Also, there is a physical key port that you must unlock before the lock latch will release. This is not a bypass entry method. You need both the numerical passcode and the key. When you first open the lock, a light turns on at the edge of the door, giving you additional visibility to the contents. This light hums as if it wants to burn or short out. The safe comes with two long screws to fasten it from the inside to the ground or wall, but I have yet to find where those screws can actually be inserted. Overall, this safe is plenty secure for general security of moderately important items, but I believe there are much more secure safes that can be purchased for the same price.

Great safe, good size, easy to operate and works as described.... I havent had a fire or a flood yet but lets hope i never have to test that.

Purchased this to protect all our "important" personal belongings. Also wanted something with a USB connection so that data backups could be protected. Super easy setup and enjoy the piece of mind knowing that things are protected. Hopefully will never have a need to test it out.
