Now that I am no longer working there, I am thrilled to see it all over again. Gary Cooper makes York seem real to me and let's my imagination live that part of history. I had forgotten that York was in service to this country for so short a time.

Great story of a great war hero, based on truth. We need to remember and honor those who served, and those who serve and protect. Blessed is the Nation whose GOD is the LORD. Our greatest protector.

This is a movie I used to watch with my dad. So glad that the video was in black and white. I gave it as a gift to someone who had never seen it. They loved it.

Love Gary Cooper one of my favorite movies War hero and all

The fact that Gary Cooper was in this film is a big contributing factor to all the praise that this film has received. For years, and I mean YEARS, I have been trying to find this movie on DVD. It finally came out and I bought it immediately. The weird thing is is that I hardly ever get to watch it because I loan it out to so many people who have never seen it before. Of all the great black and white movies, this one is way up there.

Alvin York and his mother were played by two great actors. This movie is an art piece. We love it. It doesn't beat around the bush like many war movies. I really get into it and feel his sadness, and his concerns about killing in this war. I'm glad I have this film in my collection.
