Shark Rocket Cordless Stick Vacuum - IX141
Summary:
A relatively light weight but well built battery powered stick vacuum.
Pros:
* Its relatively light weight.
* It easily breaks down for maintenance and storage.
* The main chamber/barrel handles well.
* It features great suction/cleaning power.
* It is battery powered!
* The unit seems to deliver the promised ~40 minute of use time.
Cons:
* It can take a long while to charge. I don't really know what is typical for this device category, but I'd say more than several hours to obtain a full charge.
* It doesn't feature a mounting bracket, station, or similar to store it up and off the floor. i.e. I would like to just park it. But you have to physically insert and remove the charging cable from the device. This means a lot of wear on the charging cable vs just resting the device on contacts.
Use:
The vacuum handled itself pretty well. We have a smaller hand held that we intended for use with our cars. Unfortunately, it wasn't small enough for the nooks and crannies so we brought it inside where it served as a light spot vacuum for floor and couch messes (we do have dogs that we occasionally allow on the couch). But the vacuum isn't that powerful and it is not so convenient for longer jobs or jobs requiring reach. We also have a much more substantial Dyson Ball vacuum that works wonders. But it is corded and it is much heavier than needed for spot cleaning. We had to downsize into an apartment after we sold our home, but we still need to clean. These other vacuums aren't well suited to the job due to lack of power, too much power, form factor, or storage space required. Once we decide on a house, that will change. But for now...
We needed something that could be easily brought to bear against spot messes, quick cleanups around the apartment, clean the couch, and have easy reach. This unit fit the bill!
Within minutes we realized just how much our cleaning regiment will be altered with this unit. Once we click assembled the standard stick mode, we put it to use on a medium jute area rug. We have a corgi. Corgis are... difficult to keep after. We also have a robotic vacuum that works magic every day at 1pm. The robot's bin is consistently full, so we didn't expect this vacuum to have much to do.
Boy were we wrong!
After just a few easy sweeps back and forth the chamber showed what a mess was present.
This test run was shortly after the robot's regularly scheduled job and the Shark's chamber was already filling with debris and fur (attached picture).
We proceeded to give the whole apartment a cleaning for good measure and it was so much easier than lugging the larger one around, fighting with the hose or bending over or reaching with the smaller unit, or having to set the robot for a second or third daily cleaning.
The dual "modes" for carpet or flat (i.e. wood) ensures optimal performance across surfaces. The sliding "power" mode to increase suction strength was also evident in its ability to lift heavier debris.
All in all, this unit is definitely a great work horse and a something every household should consider for their cleaning arsenal.
Note:
Other vacuum models referenced are:
Dyson DC50 (corded all purpose)
Black and Decker Pivot (cordless handheld)
Ecovacs DEEBOT N79SE (robotic)

If I could not leave a star I would. It’s the worst vacuum I’ve bought. It’s constantly clogging where it sucks up inside at the bottom where the dirt goes up & through the vacuum. I always clean it throughly once a week. I have a small living room too. Is easy to clean though. I am way over due my days to return & that’s fine. I have no problem buying new. I like new toys anyways. Just figured I would save someone else the hassle. I’ll post a picture where the dust and dirt get clogged. And no I haven’t cleaned it. After every use I’m pulling out lumps of debris.

Great quick and easy vac, if you’re doing burst mode you may run the battery time down a bit… other than that it does the job and I’m not tripping over the vacuum cord anymore!
$30 value vacuum,priced just under $300 -Shark.lol

Worked for a couple days
Poor suction
Clogs easy
Plastic part just like broke off
Carpet attachment is always needing maintenance every single use
No filter replacements were included and the filter sucks
Vent part at the top sounds like it is going to blow up or is being overworked even when fully cleaned out tube / attachment / bin is empty / filter was washed and entirely air dried …
Just absolutely NOT worth the price it is being retailed at. I would say $39.99 and it would be a good buy. Highly disappointed.

Great vacuum. Charge time is quick and we can vacuum the entire apartment and it still not be dead. It does great on tile and wood floors. Its good for full room carpets but not great for rugs. It will suck up the edge of the run into the roller every single time. While it has great sucking power which you want, they could have made the opening smaller so it wouldn't fit the run corner into it. I thought it was weird to have a light on a vacuum but now I love it. I vacuum with the room lights off so I can see all the dog hair on the floor.

I was using a corded upright Dyson for about five years before getting this unit. Dyson is very powerful but the cord was not convenient when you have to keep plugging/unplugging from room to room. This Shark Rocket Cordless solved that problem for me. The assembly out of the box was very simple, although I was surprised it didn't come already assembled since the box was pretty lengthy. I let the battery charge overnight - probably didn't have to charge that long but it was definitely fully charged by the following morning. My home has three types of floor - carpet, engineered wood and tiles - and this vacuum cleaner worked very well on all three surfaces. It was such an instant gratification to see the dust bunnies accumulate inside the clear canister. Disposing of those dust bunnies were very easy. Just make sure you place the unit inside a plastic bag, so it's less messy. Turning the unit to handheld is simple and worked nicely as well. I was able to vacuum the entire home (about 1,200 sq. feet) in about 30 min. and the unit was still fully charged. The only negative is that it cannot stand on its own, so it has to lay flat on the floor. I initially had it standing up but it kept falling because it's top heavy. Otherwise, this is a great vacuum cleaner and I highly recommend it.

I received this in April and it’s already broken… the vaccum no longer sucks AND it randomly turns on and off until it’s dead… it went off at 2 am and wouldn’t stop ..see it’s off but still lit up…

First the good features are its lightweight and balanced in my hand when using. The parts snap together easy. Suction was good. The bad features are the need to clean after using once is horrible. The pet hairs are quickly wrapped up in the roller and wheels. You have to unscrew and detach the plate, pull apart the tiny wheels that are so small and have a washer and a pin and then pick off the hairs. I do not look forward to this clean up after every use. You need to detach the motor from the top and place it on a clip at the bottom of the shaft in order for it to stand upright and not fall over. For double the price you can get a better roller that is not a brush. Way overpriced in my opinion.
