This is one of the versitile vacuum cleaner I have ever used. The functionality of the vacuum includes the easy folding for storage and carrying (see photos). The flexibility of the floor nossle make quick work of my living room. It is designed to work around, maneuver furniture and corners with a turn of the wrist. The handheld vacuum weighs less than 10 lbs even with the multiplex appliance wand. There are several release points that eliminates any awkward bending. The only time you bend is when you have to unfold it to the upright position (a drawback due to its lightness and size of the vacuum - it does not stand upright on its own). Like any vacuum, the cord is long (It does not retract but has a place to wrap it up around the side of the multiplex wand). There are 3 attachments included to fit cleaning task (pet multi tool, duster tool and appliance wand) that connects to either the vacuum or wand directly. Advice: twist not pull/push to hook up the attachments. Also like the shark bag to put them in for storage. Reading the manual there are other attachments for purchase. I have both hard wood surface floors and carpeted rooms. The floor nossle roll and brushes are soft ideal for wooden floors. The collecting compartment is smaller than regular sized vacuums, so it requires emptying more often. Emptying is easy as clicking 2 buttons. I noticed that if I used it for an extended period of time, it does get heavy since you are carrying the vacuum with one hand (think curling a 10 lbs dumbell times 200 reps). This Shark Flex is definitely worth it if you are looking for a versatile vacuum.

    Great Ultra-Light Vac

This is easily the best Vac I have ever owned. As someone who just moved in to a new apartment, the Shark Flex did a great job sucking up dirt and debris that a much bigger vacuum missed. The SharkFlex did such a good job, that I had to change the canister after every bedroom (a fact that simultaneously impressed me and grossed me out at the same time...). I tested one room with a regular vacuum and then ran the SharkFlex HV390 over the same space surprised to see that I had nearly filled up half of the cannister in a room I thought was already clean. (See pick below) This is a corded model. The cord easily stretches over 30 feet. For the most part, the cord is a non-issue for me. I'd rather deal with a cord than a battery that constantly has to be near an outlet or charging. Batteries are another part that wears out over time. The cord is rugged and plenty long for most rooms and spaces. The flexible arm and the motorized head unit did a great job getting underneath beds and dressers. When the head unit is in position, it has some definite pull to it. That motorized head unit works great. The attachments also worked well. I tested out the upholstery attachment on the sofa and the pet hair attachment did a good job getting the dog hair out of several old rugs. The unit is small enough and light enough, that I was able to use it conveniently on stairs, in the bathroom, and other places a more traditional vacuum wouldn't reach. When folded it stands about 27" inches tall and conveniently fits in an area roughly a 12" by 12" space. The documentation claims the SharkFlex is under 10lbs and I tend to believe them. It's light. It can be a bit top heavy because the motor is in the handle. As such, it won't stand upright if you need to step away, but it folds up easily or can be laid on its side if you need to stop vacuuming to take a phone call or quickly step out of the room. If I had any complaints, I would have liked to have seen more attachments. It comes with a pet hair remover and upholstery device that work fine, but the flex wand dusting attachment is separate. The attachments are also a bit too big for the attachment bag that comes with the vacuum. The Multi-Flex Under Appliance Wand sticks out of the bag and seems a bit cumbersome to store. Not really a con, but I had to clean the brush roller after every other room. It's easy to do. You simply open up the head unit with the marked releases and slide scissors along the preset groove on the roller. But it did slow things down a bit. On the plus side, I now have enough hair of my girlfriend to make for a very creepy voodoo doll should things go south! All joking aside, this was a great vacuum. If you are interested in a lightweight, flexible vacuum that works well on carpets and hard surfaces, I believe you can't go wrong with the SharkFlex DuoClean HV391.

Less than ten (10) pounds this is a powerful stick vacuum with roller brush heads. I was personally amazed the vacuum motor body was as light as it is powerful (suction). As an upright, it glides across the floor and handle can be folded to go under couches and chairs other units won't. Here is my top feature list: * Thin and light weight * Ultra thin brush head glides under furniture (went completely under couch seen in photo) * Super bright LED head lamps * 30-foot power cord * easy to release motor body can be used on stairs like a wand (even attaches the beater brush bar head) * long reach attachment tube * Folds for compact storage (even in a hall closet) * Swivel head turns every way I want * Super easy to remove and empty dirt cup * "Beater Bar Brush Garage" opens without tools to clear jams My dislikes: - - - Sorry , don't have any!

This product is great for many house cleaning tasks. It is designed for carpet, tile and other types of floor. It is also versatile for other cleaning tasks with the many accessories and features that this vacuum is designed with. The vacuum comes with a few accessories that easy to connect and adjust as necessary. The click and connect very easily. This makes it very versatile and I am extremely satisfied with this. Since I live in Florida, frequently clean my house AirCondition vents so the unit will run efficiently and hopefully last a long time. Replacing a unit can cost upwards of $2000 so it is wise maintenance and cleaning AC vents is one those maintenance. Normally I use a ladder and a small brush or cloth to clean the vents on the ceilings but the Shark vac it simplifies this task. I was able to clean all events throughout the house in a couple of minutes. I am sure there are many other similar uses for this vacuum. Great for hard to reach places without the use of a ladder. The dust compartment is easy to remove and to empty out. The highest speed is not very loud like other vacuums I have used. Another positive feature is that the cord is very long and this will speed up your cleaning tasks of a large room by not having to move the plug around. The vacuum feels well built.

I really like this vacuum. You can bend it in the middle to reach hard places like under the sofa or bed. It comes with several accessories to reach ceilings and crevices in example. Its very powerful, at first I thought it wouldn't since its skinnier than other vacuums I had, but, boy, I was wrong! It's so powerful, that it actually pulls you forward (no kidding, the two rollers spin hard when you put it in the max setting). I also liked that it has two strong set of LED lights so you can see in dark corners. My only con, is that after a while of using it, my wrist/hand started to hurt a little (its heavy on the top), so I had to switch to my other hand, but other than that, it cleans hard!!

Having purchased a regular standing Shark vacuum in the past, I expected this to perform well, but it exceeded expectations. From opening the box to turning it for the first time, it only took about 2 minutes. Instructions were clear, product was well labeled. It worked well on both bare floors and carpet. Good suction. Also used it to clean under the sofa cushions. An added bonus was the connection which allowed me to vacuum under appliances - used it under my desk and sofa. Converting to handheld is simple. Emptying the dirt receptacle was a cinch. Very pleased.

The SharkFlex Corded Ultra-Light vacuum is my new favorite household toy. When I decide to clean an area - I will really tear it apart. This vacuum helps me reach places like never before. It's multiflex reach allows me to reach the dog hair under the couches like never before. It comes with three very useful tools including a pet tool for hair, a crevice tool and a under appliance wand (which also works great for cleaning fan blades and blinds too). It is very easy to go from tile to carpeting. The machine is very powerful and pulls across the floor as it is pulling up the dirt. It's very easy to use like a dust buster with the tools - just one click. One feature that I love is how it folds up. It takes up very little room! Great vacuum!

Disclosure. I am a Best Buy Tech Insider Network member and received the Shark - Flex DuoClean HV391 for free for review purposes. Below is my unbiased review. The Shark - Flex DuoClean HV391 is a corded portable vacuum cleaner. It weighs under 10 pounds and offers the flexibility of a portable handheld and standard vacuum cleaner all in one handy unit. The DuoClean HV391 comes ready to assemble in the box - all straight forward, just connect all of the pieces together. They snap together easily and feel stable and safe. Don't be put off by the assembly, DuoClean HV391 is really designed to be flexible to work anyway you need it. Everything is designed to bend, twist and turn to let you get into the tightest spots. It took me less than 5 minutes to unbox and be ready to go. (see pictures). I should mention DuoClean is bagless. Onto the test and another disclosure we have a pet cat. We also have a mix of floorboards and carpet. I tested the DuoClean on carpet, wood and furniture. As a carpet vacuum the DuoClean is quite good. The main vacuum head is motorized and has lights. I never understand vacuum cleaners with lights (who is cleaning in the dark). It also appears to be self-propelling. It was easy to move and did a reasonably good job on both wood and carpet with the dust container getting a reasonable amount of dirt and pet hair. The big selling point on the DuoClean is that it can bend, turn and attachments can reach under your couch without having to move furniture. This is where the vacuum kind of disappoints. I ran it under our couch and there was no dirt. What it did seem to do is create little dustballs. I tried a few different power settings. A nice feature of the DuoClean is you can go from low to high power suction but it didn't seem to make a difference. On furniture, the DuoClean faired much better. The crevice tool did a great job cleaning behind cushions, including fixed cushions that can't be removed. Storage is straight forward. The DuoClean folds up on itself so it can be placed upright in a closet. There is also a handy cloth bag included for storing the various attachments and accessories (as they can't be stored on the cleaner itself and only attached when in use). The big question is would I buy this? I think the DuoClean does as fair job as a vacuum. I wasn't that impressed with the vacuum suction, so would place in more in the comparison set of handhelds vs a standard vacuum. At under 10lb in weight, it's definitely portable enough. I think it would make a great cleaner for a small apartment or dorm room. Somewhere with limited space where you want the flexibility of portability with general use. It's also a good size and the power cord is very long, that you could use it in your garage to clean the inside of your car. At time of writing the DuoClean comes with a 5 year warranty.

This is a pretty good vacuum cleaner. I wish the holding compartment was a bit larger, but this is really meant for relatively smaller homes (apartments, etc...). It has a lot of versatility in where it can go and where it can reach and it folds up neatly for storage quickly and easily. I feel like cable management is a bit wonky for the power cord as well.

Have had all the brands and types; This the first vacuum I enjoy using; my wife used to do all the vacuuming; now I do half as it is enjoyable...if housework can be enjoyable. Easy to set up, use, clean, empty, store. Wanted the battery version but with 21 minutes to a battery, no way worth it. The whole machine was well thought out for weight, use, storage. The second foam like roller in front picks up everything! love it, we bought two; one for each level of house. Getting under things and turning is great... did have to get used to the self propel effect of the rollers doing such a great job. Half to empty after each room since it pulls up so much more than any other vacuum did.

This vacuum is exactly the answer to my clean carpet wishes. It's light-weight and effortless and is such a treat coming from my previous brand name monstrous upright. The motorized floor mechanism took me by surprise - literally. It's self-propelled and will get away from you if you don't have a good grip on it. I was amazed at how much dirt was in the cup after already vacuuming with my previous. The carpet pile is higher and very noticeably cleaner while walking on the carpet. The attachments are easy to attach and maneuver. The bonus is how the unit folds down for easy storage in small spaces. Must mention the freakishly long cord. It's great for reaching the entire apartment without changing plugs, but you must take care to not trip over it. I'm definitely more impressed than expected with this compact powerhouse of a vacuum.

The Shark vacuum does a good job on both carpet and hard floors. We chose the corded model so we won't have to deal with run times. The cord is plenty long to reach without having to constantly move plug. Love the way it folds over for storage.

Lots of pros some cons but well worth it. Great suction and very maneuverable, very long cord with plenty of versatility, great power head lights. Tends to pull you along a little on high setting, dirt container fills up a little quick but that’s ok it tells me it’s picking stuff up and it’s very easy to empty collection container. I’d buy it again.

This vacuum was everything I hoped it would be. I don’t think I’ve ever known a vacuum that cleans so well, especially the one that went from floor to rugs without switching any buttons. I was very tired of reading reviews, trying to make up my mind. It is for that reason that I feel like I’ve picked the perfect one. It’s lightweight, versatile, doesn’t take much room for storage, and came with all the attachments I need. So very happy!
