Terrible Best Buy Service! The item came dropped & dented beyond functionality & they would still not offer an exchange. I am a long time customer, but no exceptions for the fact that I was out of town due to family issues and missed their 14 DAY RETURN window. Really Best Buy are you hurting that much that you can't exchange a $150 item and quit using FEDEX - they are terrible with their package care. Now, I will find other places to buy my small applicances.

This is a very good Microwave Oven. It works as it should.

First month interior light went out, 2nd month the display went out

My new Sharp Countertop Microwave has worked perfectly from day 1. It's easy to set up and use. It warms or heats my food thoroughly without cold spots. I use the feature where you can specify the cooking time and power level daily. If you need a good solid microwave that is big enough to cook casseroles and things but isn't so huge it takes over your entire countertop this is a good option.

My microwave died before the month I bought it. I need to call Best buy for a refund.

My last Sharp microwave was retired at 31 years, still working, so buying another Sharp was a no-brainer. Surprisingly 10% more power cuts some of the heating time by up to a third. And it's quiet! Pay no attention to the people who can't or won't read. It's easy to disable the child lock function and those directions are in three different places. Simply press 7, 9 and then hold 0 for three seconds. Voila, no child lock and it stays that way through a power outage. Pros: quiet, powerful for size; push-button door; interior light on when cooking or door open; text on display buttons easy to see. Cons: (minor quibbles) display light is blindingly bright and illuminates my kitchen at night. Interior light is very dim. I realize that any appliance lasting three decades is an outlier but if I get a quarter of that I'll be happy.

So far so good! I like the look of the microwave which is sleek and bold in white and black. I have visual disabilities but am able to read the labels. The size for a dinner plate is fine. The food has been heating up perfectly. I do wish it was white inside instead of gray but the light is good enough to still be able to see. I was able to disarm the automatic lock for kids since I don’t have kids here. That was easy to do. I have a small kitchen and this was able to fit on my stand. I have only had this a short time but so far it is what I hoped for!

Our ancient (but still fully operating) Kenmore (!) microwave finally gave up the ghost. We needed to find another countertop microwave that would fit the designated space, so we did our research and settled on the Sharp 1.1 cu. ft. 1000W Countertop Microwave. It's ever-so-slightly larger than our previous one, and more powerful, but had all the things we wanted and needed. And Best Buy had it in stock! We were checking out with our new microwave less than five minutes after we arrived! This microwave does everything we need. The design and layout of the control panel is clear and logical. The button to open the door is easy to use but feels very solid and reliable. The microwave itself is quiet when in operation. When it's done, five little dings tell you it's ready for you. (Three would have been fine, Sharp, but, OK, we'll do five!) And cleanup is easy. We're very pleased with our new microwave, and hope it lasts the almost 30 years that our last one lived!

After lots of time spent online researching microwaves I purchased this Sharp microwave. Results of research indicate that this is the safest choice in terms of materials used to make microwave. It does not emit toxic substances so it is safer to use than most. I have found it to be a great purchase for additional reasons as well, it is a compact size but has great power snd cooks/warms perfectly. It is also attractive and would fit in with both dark or regular stainless steel appliances. I recommend this microwave, it’s safe and it performs very well.

Love this microwave. So much better than my old one. It is more powerful, very, quiet, easy to use, and fits nicely in my kitchen. Also love the bright light on the timer. So happy I bought this Sharp microwave!

This microwave has exceeded my expectations. It is powerful and boils a cup of water in just 2 minutes; 1 minute less than my last model. The glass plate attaches to an insert in the unit, so no separate 3 prong insert with rollers to fiddle with. It has a child proof lock if you need that, which is easily disabled if you don’t. Great size, features and appearance. Highly recommended.

This Sharp 1000W countertop microwave oven, Model SMC1162KS, is a replacement for the one that I bought about three years ago from Best Buy and developed a problem while still under warranty. The 1.1 cu. ft. size is just right for my cooking needs, the keypad is easy to use, and the appearance is elegant. This replacement has a child-resistant lock to help prevent unwanted opening of the door while food is cooking. This feature can be turned off, if desired, for households with no children. The process of obtaining this replacement was easy. After Best Buy technicians determined that it was more economical to replace rather than repair my microwave oven, I was told to go to Best Buy with my receipt for the original item and my notification authorizing replacement, and choose a model, I received credit amounting to the price of the original item. I am pleased with the performance of my new microwave oven.

Bought this for our bar downstairs. It is quiet and just the right size to fit a small space. Glad I opted to spend a tad more money for the quality. Easy to use.

We recently bought this because the home we are renting doesn't have a microwave. This powerful unit is perfect for us. The size is not overwhelming, and 1,000 watts is amazing. We also make full use of the child lock-our grandson visits often, and there is no danger of him opening the door and getting burned. It is quiet, and the dark gray interior is a nice upgrade. We are very happy with our purchase!

Gave as a Christmas present. They said it took a little time figuring out how to operate compared to a 10 year old microwave, so many more options. One thing they had to get used to is the open door lock. So far they like it compared to their old one.
