Do not fit in space. Sales person was not informative regarding my purchase

I wanted a microwave in the island insted of over the stove. Just had it installed in my new island a few days ago. Installation was easy. Looks great, and seems to function well..I do wish it had a turntable, but seems to do the job.

We purchased a black stainless in August 2020 and never had a microwave in our home fail until today. Our Sharp drawer microwave failed after a little over 4yrs. Not a bad microwave really but the unexpected failure so soon means we’ll look at a different brand for a replacement. I would have expected it to last longer. Maybe we are the unlucky ones but this thing was cheap so we expected better.

In 2021 we had remodeled our kitchen with black stainless appliances, including a Sharp black stainless drawer microwave. The microwave came with a 12 month warranty. The microwave quit working after 20 months. A professional appliance repairman estimated the repairs would be $800 plus the $120 initial service call. Sharp was contacted and offered no compensation for a new replacement microwave. $1,400.00 for 20 months of working service is excessively expensive. The microwave worked magnificent when it was operational. My recommendation would be to purchase a lengthy extended warranty and include that cost in your purchase considerations.

Beautiful and convenient microwave…This is our second one. We sold our house with it and knew we needed another in our new house. Love it!

Works perfectly. Love the ability to just push a number and it will go for that amount of minutes without pressing a lot of buttons. Plus, it is the smallest we could find and it is large enough for anything we cook.

Really enjoying this drawer model. We've always had the traditional kind that is installed over the range. This works fantastic and looks beautiful!

This gimmick isn't worth it. The door motor is already blown after 3.5 weeks installed. Expecting a refund. edit: a year and a month later, after Sharp came out and replaced the first piece of junk, the replacement started to make a loud noise and smoking. Something electrical is burning behind the drawer. Expecting a refund, again....though, now this thing is out of warranty. Overall, this thing is a piece of garbage. It does nothing better than a microwave 1/3 of it's price and does several things much worse. There is no turntable. The specs indicate that it compensates for this with it's sensor. I disagree. The height of the inside space is shallower than equal sized microwaves to accommodate for the drawer function, so, often packages designed to go in reasonably sized microwaves don't fit. Speaking of the drawer, don't fill cups/other vessels to the level that you normally would while placing them inside here. They will spill over when the drawer (albeit very slowly) moves. And, when things spill, good luck mopping the liquids/debris out of the four corners of the drawer, as the corners are sharp and getting everything out of them is much more difficult than on other machines. Long story short, this is easily a top 3 worst electronics purchase I've ever made. One would figure at this ridiculous price point that a microwave would last. Steer clear.

Absolutely love everything about this microwave. Had it for two years and the mag tube shorted and burnt out. $1100 microwave just shot craps. Only one year warranty. I will not be buying this one again!

Never buy this. It seems like a convenience and cool to have. But it doesn't work properly. Died 13 months into usage and Sharp will not repair it. For a $1000 dollar microwave they aren't willing to stand behind it. Lack of turntable means the food isn't heated evenly or quickly either. And the slide out drawer which seems interesting initially is actually inconvenient because its hard to clean. Also, despite using a food cover, any microwave will have some splatter. And with this unit, you have to get on your hands and knees to clean the ceiling of the cooking chamber. Also, the control panel will often pinch your fingers. Was willing to take a chance on a new concept, but the poor usability and terrible quality have made me lose $1000. Very very unhappy.

There is no turn plate on the bottom of the microwave, so the heating is uneven. But dealt with it, as the flip out control panel and overall design was nice minimalist. However, after 3 years - it just went kaput and died one day. No warning, just dead. I would have expected a couple more years at this price point.

We recently moved into a house with a Sharp microwave drawer. It was manufactured in 2017. We kept it clean, immediately wiped up any splatter (which is not easy bc you have to stick your head in the microwave to see the top). Anyway, last week it started sparking... We didn’t put any metal in it. I found a scorched spot on the wave cover. Called the only Sharp-authorized repair shop in my area and was told it was not fixable. 1100 dollar microwave that lasted 2.5 years, just ridiculous. I’m not about to buy another one, or any other microwave drawer bc they are all made by Sharp. Now I have a worthless piece of junk taking up space in my island. Don’t waste your money on this.

Do not buy this microwave. The customer service stinks. I bought it and because it died 15 months after delivery, Sharp has just washed it's hands off the unit. Might as well just get a new, reliable microwave from a better company for less than half the cost of this one, rather than spend the $$$$ to fix it. Also going to advise the cabinet design company we used to never ever recommend this product to anyone.

After 1.8 years, the keypad failed. $450 to replace, more if I want home service. I have never had a failed keypad in 25 years of microwave ownership. Also, I fund it underpowered compared to many other models I have owned. Its the only game in town for an under cabinet so I suspect they don't care about quality until their patent runs out. Consider this type of microwave carefully in your design because your buying a poor quality product to meet your kitchen design goals. btw, the microwave was used my me and my wife only, no kids have used/abused it. Hope this helps.

The popcorn button doesn’t work. None of my popcorn popped. My ten year old microwave worked better than this RIP My beloved Johnny Gilbert 2012-2022. This microwave doesn’t really heat food the best, it takes forever. Don’t get this sit still look pretty piece of modern junk! It can’t pop popcorn to save it’s poor little life. I’m never spending $1,300 on another microwave that only exists to look good. May as well have popped my popcorn above a car engine.

My wife called me today saying that the microwave had begun to smoke and she shut it off. I am frankly annoyed that this unit failed in less than two years. I have reached out to Sharp and am hoping they can assist with repairs but until I have a satisfactory resolution I will not make a change to my rating.

Great looking part of my kitchen. Just burnt out in year 3 and called Sharp, said it was out of warranty. If I pay $1,200 for a microwave, Sharp should stand by that product.
