    My first 'smart' TV

I stood in line with the other bargain hunters and was lucky enough to score one on Black Friday. Obviously at that price no one should be complaining. My review is based on the TV itself and not the TV at a certain price. I've had the TV for a couple days now. My last set was a Sharp Aquos but has started to occasionally lose red in the picture and I got years out of the set. So I have had a good experience with Sharp in the past. I was a bit concerned after learning Hisense bought the Sharp name for TVs in the US back in 2015. Setup was straight forward and simple. I recommend having two people to get it out of the box, installing the legs (which are plastic but seem stable) and getting started. I spent a fair amount of time setting up Roku and the channels I wanted. Since this was my first smart TV, I didn't realize how much time it would take to setup. I've noticed that while streaming through Roku some movies / shows get 'stuck' loading. I don't know if this is an issue with my wireless setup, Roku, the channel or the TV. Out of the box, my color settings were pretty close to spot on. There's an option to setup color variances based on which HDMI port you are using which is nice. So my adjustments on my game console are not the same as my choices for my cable box or blu ray player which is a big plus in fine tuning the player / viewer experience. The picture is crisp and contrast levels are well defined. A couple minor adjustments in the color levels for my game console were needed to tone down the brightness. No big deal. Overall, it's a great picture. Sound is much better than I expected. Although many people will use a sound bar / surround sound, the built in speakers are loud and clear enough for me. The set comes with 3 HDMI ports which to me is the minimum - game console, cable box & blu ray player. More is always better and if you only have 2 that means something will be using the older RGB connection, which this TV doesn't even have a connection for. My one complaint, which is minor, is the Roku remote. I don't mind that it's small but the volume controls are on the right side near the top and I find they get in the way when using the remote so I inadvertently end up adjusting the volume when using the remote. Eventually, I may look into getting a different remote if it persists. Overall it has been a great set with a good picture and better than expected sound and I'm very happy. The big test will be how long it lasts.

After owning several Vizio's I made the mistake of buying another without even reading a review and was greatly disappointed so returned it immediately after setup (the setup was so painful). I purchased instead a 55" Sharp Roku TV and was handed back a refund for a bigger TV. Installation was so easy, connecting to the wifi, and standard set up of apps, 5-10 mins max. The picture is great and is so simple to navigate. Very impressed with the Sharp Roku TV, and great service from Bestbuy North Austin. I only wish I had bothered reading the reviews first.

I bought this Smart TV for my son's Birthday in 2016, Black Friday Sale. Great price. He promised to "Cut the Cord" if he had a Smart TV. He did cut back on cable, but not completely. Still works well, picture and sound. The remote had to replaced once. Go to the Roku app and you can buy a voice remote for all if their TV's. I bought the same TV for myself in a 40" Class yesterday. I love Roku Smart TV'S. I have 2 now.

I ordered this sharp tv when it was on sale a few months ago after reading good reviews on it....and I am glad i bought it.Has a very good pic and vivid colors and with the built in roku what more could you ask ? The sound is very good not requiring a sound bar like many other tvs. I also have a new Vizio in the living room and the sharp is a lot better in my opinion.....

I really enjoy my new TV. It has good picture quality and it's easy to set up. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because of the sound quality. But I have noticed in the knew Smart TVs you have to turn the sound volume way up to be able to hear a lot of stations. For this reason I liked the old TVs that weren't smart.

Awesome TV! Picture is bright and the sound is spot on. The only complaint that i have is the remote. The volume buttons are on the right side of the remote, which sometimes gets pressed by accident, but other than that, no complaints. I would highly recommend this to my friends and family. Better than the Samsung i bought at twice the price!

This was a black Friday purchase and based on the reviews of the 50 inch model and looking at the 50" one in the store display, I decided to try this out. It is mounted on a stand, and used in the bedroom. These are initial reactions. Packaging -- well packaged and protected Set up - plugged it in and turned it on. There is a 15 second delay before it shows the banner, and does a software update. From there on the set up was a breeze with Roku updates taking a while, and an initial intro video to provide an overview that could be handy for someone new to Roku Loaded 100 channels -- this took 5 or 10 minutes, and I will be deleting many of them PIcture is sharp and clear with more detail, contrast and clarity automatically than my 5 year old LG that cost 3x as much and has 120hz and 47" screen with the same resolution. The sound is a bit weak - it is clear but increasing the volume a lot has a modest effect on the loudness Netflix, Time Warner, Hulu and Amazon -- the main services I use, all work well. Will update the review once we have some hours on the TV, and run into some problems, as I expect we will

Bought this at Black Friday event. I would recommend tv with a warning. Positives: -price -picture -easy to set up and use Negatives: -sound using built in apps is poor -even cranked up to 100% its hard to hear using apps -if I use PS4 to run Netflix the volume is great! -hope sharp offers a download to fix problem. -can't afford quality soundbar, so will have to live with poor volume.

Absolutely fantastic TV. Picked this up at Bestbuy and I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. The colors are not washed out and look really good. The smart TV interface (Roku) is fast and response, while the speakers are nothing to sneeze at. This is now definitely one of my recommended TVs whenever friends ask about purchasing a large TV. The only con I can think of for the TV is the width (it is a bit thicker than the new thin ones) and it is limited to 60 Hz refresh. However, it's more than enough for my needs.

This TV performed better than expected for the price. Would have given 5 stars, but the Roku side of it can be sluggish would recommend a firestick to use with this. Other than that picture and audio quality is outstanding. Also be prepared to get a long TV stand as the legs are spread apart on this.

I bought this tv for two reasons one was the price for $250 (w/tax $275) you won't find a 55 inch smart tv any cheaper. I also read the reviews based on this tv's 50inch model and the reviews overall were positive. Packaging was a breeze to get out. Set up not hard at all took a minute because I was setting up channels, and my network connection. Picture quality not the best on SD channels so try and avoid those channels if possible. HD channels were good but I seen better. For the price I would not only recommend the tv but would have bought another one if I had the need. I wish I could of rated the tv a high 3, low 4 in stars.

I got this TV during Black Friday so I got it for a great price. Setup was easy and since I already had a Roku account, I was already familiar with setting it up. Once I logged into my Roku account, all of my channels from my roku stick flowed through to the tv. The picture is very bright and sharp. The home screen that places all of my connected devices (antenna, Wii U, firestick, Blu-ray player) added an extra level of convenience I didn't know I needed. No more flipping through inputs to figure out which one is which. The only negative I found about this TV, much like some of the other reviews I read, was the sound quality. I found that the sound for the menu was always much louder than actually watching tv. I solved this by turning the volume completely off for the menu. However, the sound when watching tv is still relatively low and varies from show to show. I assume a sound bar may fix this issue but I haven't bought one yet. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I am loving my new tv!

Like several other reviews on here I thought the volume would have been higher than what it actually was. I would give it a vibrating across the board with the exception of the volume and the parental controls locks the entire television out. Unlike some of the other reviews I felt the only time the volume plays decently is through the HDMI cord all of the apps including Netflix have the super low volume. The volume is the only reason this TV gets a 3 of 5 stars. I will buy me a soundbar to go with this television. The only friend I would recommend this television to is the ones who are def and the volumes do not matter.

I got this tv at the black friday sale. Im a cable technician so when i noticed this tv was only 60 refresh rate i got worried this was gonna be waste of money. Bc i always thought you had to get a 120hz to enjoy football games or anything fast motion but thats not true. I hooked this tv up and it has a great picture for football or even movies. Its big bright and beautiful. The sound is great quality too. I love it!

no brainer $250 for a 1080p name brand tv. the roku would cost u at least $30 so lets say $220 for a 55" tv wow. vivid picture. this is edge lit so you will notice some light banding around the edges after break in period but not enough to return the tv. am having issues with my sling tv not working 100% all the time but could be that service and not the tv.it very fast tv too breezes through the apps. sound is ok too. very impressive tv

The tv overall is great . Great quality, connects to the wifi, roku comes in handy, you can even connect your computer to the tv via wifi or Bluetooth but man does the sound on this tv suck. My iPhone has better sound than this . Most of the time I have to have it at 70 to be able to hear normal . Another thing Iv noticed is it starts lagging on Netflix after awhile. Not worth the price if you are going to end up buying a sound bar
