This television is great. The Android TV OS is the best for a smart tv I have seen. It also works with my phone to send YouTube and other videos.

    Android TV!

So I knew I was going to need a TV over 6 months ago as we were in the process of moving to a new State and house. During my initial research about TVs shown at CES, I was really enamored with the idea of getting an Android TV. At the time both Sony and Sharp had announced their support for it. Flash forward 4 months and I'm ready to buy a TV, but the Sharps were not released and the Sony's were getting all kinds of complaints about the lack of working software. It appears that Android TV took some time to figure out and get working apps released. I suspect Sharp waited as long as it could to release tvs with working software. Now it's July and Sharp has released their TVs. Compared to the Sony lineup the prices just seemed more reasonable with Sharp. Ordered this tv and set the delivery date. I've now had a couple weeks to test the TV. Received 1 OS update in that time frame. I can say that the Android TV platform is great. Unlike some of the other Manufacturers that use proprietary OS software having the support of Android and the Google Play store will be invaluable. I suspect we will be seeing software updates many years into the future. I'm using Sling, Netflix, Fox Sports Go, and Crackle for viewing content. For regular TV I'm using OTA. I've found that compared to my M-Series Vizio this TV handles the OTA much better, and was able to pull more channels. As for the picture I'm still playing with the settings. It's close to being really good, and some of the streaming apps are not pushing the greatest quality video for testing. Looks great playing in Game mode via my PS4. I'd recommend this TV if you are a cord cutter like myself and really need the apps. With or without support via Sharp you should see more software come available via the Google Play store.

    Sharp Always Delivers

I am a TV fanatic and this is my third 4k Television bought this year. I have always bought a Sharp. The quality build is unmatched and look always sophisticated and high tech. The only problem with Sharp is the average consumer cannot figure out the calibrations nor how to even get to certain menu options. I always say, if you keep it at least a week and work with it, you will finally get it. I personally like smart central 3.0 better then android and is much easier for the average consumer. Picture quality is incredible as always when calibrated correctly. It is top notch above other brands. Sharps always need calibration out of box, always. However if you can take some time and learn it, you are getting a Bentley for the price of a Toyota. Sharp picture and build quality is above most other companies. I have bought Sony, Samsung and I still have 2 plasmas i use here at home. I know my televisions. If you want a good, stylish, high tech, unmatched build quality 4k TV, then I promise you sharp delivers. The average consumer just has to take the time to calibrate and learn the menu options. I plan on purchasing another one for outside patio, before sharp gets turned over to Hisense, at first of next year. Sharp will continue to support all purchases with firm updates.

I love this TV, it was super easy to set up and the picture quality is amazing! I also love the new Android TV user interface! I decided to purchase an additional remote from Sharp so I could have the touchpad remote with the built in voice search.

Better than Samsung top line model

This TV has a stunning panel, the best out there I truly believe. I was talked into buying a Samsung their top tier model 9000 and was really disappointed with PQ, I took back and replaced with this model, saved $500 also. I have another 70 inch sharp in my other room and absolutely love that tv also, the only reason I tried Samsung is because bestbuy tries to sell them down your throat, when I tried to return the sales guy was so mad I didn't want a Samsung, go figure idk why. Anyway sharp TVs are the best on the market for the price the solid quality build, they also sell Samsung there panels for their high quality TVs. 4k content is amazing I could not be happier with this purchase.

A lot of people are saying they have problems with it or are not impressed. First off, if you bring it home and plug it into your 1080i/p cable/satellite box, with cheap no name HDMI cables that came with your wall mount like I did you will OBVIOUSLY not see a difference. Get the 4k cable/satellite box, get at a minimum the rocketfish HDMI cables. Then you will notice a diffrence, pop in a blue ray or open up Netflix and ACTUALLY WATCH SOMETHING 4K! But really, you will have to go thru the visual settings of both your TV and cable/satellite box to get it looking perfect, everything needs some manner of calibration but when you do... It is worth the money considering it was at the low end of the 4k models. Some sound bar issues and small issues with the Android cast. If you call Sharp, they will trouble shoot it and give you the right guidance on what to do. So 2 side notes. First, I had issues with the Previous Sharp TV that I bought 8 months prior and they gave me a full refund, their customer service was outstanding and they called me more then I had to call them. That is why I stuck with Sharp. Second, If you have cheap cables, and a cheap sound system and have issues or are not impressed. You get what you pay for.
