Sherlock is such a brilliant and well written show. Benedict Cumberbatch is an amazing actor. If your a fan of Sherlock Holmes in general, then this show is for you. Definitely worth having in your collection of DVDs.

Holmes & Watson are at their best when confronted by even darker villains and problems from the past. Very true to the book series and strongly captivating! A fitting tribute to the classic detective & his sidekick~~~

I think that this is one of the best Sherlock series available. All 4 seasons are great and they make you think while watching them. Benedict Cumberbatch comes as close to a Sherlock character as in the books.

This version of Sherlock is a lot of fun. It's been interesting to see how the writers have included bits and pieces of the original stories to today's world in this series.

This fifth outing is the best in the Sherlock series. The casts have continued to give the audience their best performance. The telling of the Season Four’s stories not only suppressed other stories based on Sherlock Holmes, it had dwarfed its own. The cases/episodes can be watch individually but they are (spoiler alert) connected together. I had watched them separately. The stories are fast pace so they require viewer’s full attention. I had watched the whole season again in one setting while a snow storm pounding out side. I found that I had appreciated the stories more the second time around. To borrow a phrase, it is a Jolly Good Shows.

Ok when I watch films I do so on a 180" movie theater screen with full 7.1 surround sound and the Buttkicker transducer system. This is not to Boast but to give an idea of the clarity that I rate both 4k and 1080p films. 1st off regardless if you are huge into 4k or still collect Blu-ray; I will add that with today's (Oppo) upscaling technology along with upscaling technology on theater projectors that the difference between Blu-ray & 4k is minimal. I will say that going over 180" that you will likely see a difference and recommend 4k for 150"+ screens. I Love the Sherlock series & both the sound & visual quality BBC put into these bluray were fantastic!

I've tried giving the Elementary TV show a shot, to compare the two, but, while good, it just doesn't keep my attention enough to continue on with it like BBC's Sherlock has.
Sherlock just gets better and better every series. The 90 minute long, 3-4 episode seasons make each individual story feel like a movie, with an over-arching theme between the whole show. This works FAR better than the episodic, cop-procedural seasons Elementary has.
It is a solid case of less being more. Where smaller seasons keep the quality, intrigue, suspense, and excitement up for each new release, while eliminating the need for those inevitable 'filler' episodes American tv shows tend to have.

This is one of the best shows on BBC. The packaging and picture quality are fantastic. The show is amazing. There's only three episodes but all three are very high quality big budget episodes. The other season's (2&3) overall are arguably much better than then season 4 however episode 2 of this season is my favorite out of the entire series which puts Sherlock against Culverton Smith in addition to the drama and emotions of that episodes make it the best - which is the reason I own this season. Had to go back and watch it again because it was so amazing.

Still the best modern Sherlock Ever

Be patient. The last episode is still the best and it's like the story of the surgeon who see the patient as being their son.
There's no doubt in my mind that this current Sherlock incarnation as portrayed as being in the world of today is one of the best ever.
The only other best of Sherlock was Jeremy Brett's version in his earlier portrayals.
While Basil Rathbone's was, at one time, the best, modernizing Sherlock for modern times, brings the character and the story-telling to a wider audience.

These episodes are more akin to Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes during the third series of short stories. The three episodes move at a rapid pace and it shows Sherlock s strengths and weaknesses. We see a much more savvy Mrs. Hudson. There is s major plot twist in the first episode which carries forward. I wish each season/series had more thanthree episodes. It remains very engaging and we are introduced to a more human Sherlock. Your time will be well spent watching the most recent series.

I'm so happy this season is finally here! It may have taken a long time to be made but it was worth the wait! As always Sherlock is fantastic and again has a great story to tell! The bluray is super clear and worth the extra price. Very happy and will definitely be rewatching this series!

Wow. Absolutely outstanding. Been on board since the first season and can see that the series has really come into it's own. Clearly all involved are having the time of their lives. Truly a labor of love. I'll go out on a limb and say this is the best of the lot. My only gripe is that these episodes are relegated to only three. The writing just gets better and better with each subsequent series. Way to go! Highly recommended.

If the distinctive style of this series is what made you a fan, you'll want Season 4.
Executed as masterfully as ever, it embodies the familiar aspects of the series along with shocking new developments, unprecedented character insights and revelations, and layers of ingeniously interwoven plot twists. These three provocative and engrossing episodes build progressively and collectively play out as a fully rounded season.
