Overall I like this headset quite a bit. I primarily bought it because I'm on Microsoft Teams all day on my laptop and I needed a comfortable headset with decent battery life. My Airpods don't last all day and having earbuds in my ears all the time gets uncomfortable. This headset fits the bill for me. PROS: 1. Good battery life. I can go all day on one charge. 2. Can connect to 2 devices simultaneously (kind of a pain to set up the 1st time, but after that it's way easy), which is huge for me...I use it with my laptop for Teams and my cell phone at the same time. 3. Lightweight and comfortable. 4. Charges quickly. I can get a decent amount of life out of a 15-20 minute quickie charge if needed. CONS: 1. Sometimes I get a complaint from people I'm on calls with that it cuts out. Not a huge issue, but it is there. 2. Custom cable for charging (so when I inevitably lose it, it'll be a pain to replace).
Overall, I am very pleased with this headset.

I recently got my hands on the Shokz OpenComm Noise-Canceling Bone Conduction Bluetooth Headset, and overall, it has been a delightful experience. The sound quality and battery life are standout features, though there's one quirk that might be a dealbreaker for some.
Fantastic Sound Quality:
The sound quality of the Shokz OpenComm is truly exceptional. The bone conduction technology provides a unique and immersive listening experience. Whether I'm on a call or enjoying my favorite tunes, the audio is clear, crisp, and rich. It's a game-changer for those who prioritize audio quality in their headsets.
Impressive Battery Life:
The battery life on these headphones is nothing short of fantastic. I can go for extended periods without worrying about recharging, making them ideal for long workdays or travel. The quick charging feature is also a handy addition for those moments when you need a boost on the go.
One Minor Quirk:
The only downside I've encountered is a consistent beeping when disconnecting from my phone, even for a short duration. While this may be a useful feature for some users, it personally drives me a bit crazy. It's a small inconvenience that, I hope, could be addressed in future updates. For those who are sensitive to repetitive sounds, this might be worth considering.
Comfortable Design:
The headset's design is comfortable for extended wear, and the bone conduction technology allows for situational awareness – a crucial aspect for those who need to stay aware of their surroundings during calls or while listening to music.
In conclusion, the Shokz OpenComm Noise-Canceling Bone Conduction Bluetooth Headset delivers impressive sound quality, excellent battery life, and a comfortable design. If you can overlook the beeping quirk, you're in for a treat with these innovative headphones.
Pros:
Exceptional sound quality with bone conduction technology
Impressive battery life for extended use
Comfortable design for long-term wear
Noise-canceling feature enhances call quality
Cons:
Continuous beeping when disconnecting may be bothersome for some users
Overall, a top-notch choice for those seeking a unique and high-performing Bluetooth headset!

Excellent sound quality! I used to have make calls for my working using airpods and customers complained of sound quality. The shokz solved this problem. Also, it easily connect to my PC for conferencing. It’s nice not to have anything blocking your ears. You can hear yourself and surroundings better. Takes a bit of getting used the bone sound conduction, but now I prefer this over my airpods.

Great noise blocking. The person on the end will only hear you clearly and without background noise. Great for voice calls and the 16hr run time is awesome. The only cons would be: proprietary charging cable, not as clear as headphones for music, may not fit if you have a big head or lots of hair. Of note, but not really a con. is that the mic is very directional and you need to aim precisely at your mouth.

Great sound quality. Have had those on the other end of calls say sound was great. Blocks out background noise. Great battery life. Only complaint I have is I would like them to have different sizes. I have a small head and these stick off the back of my head quite a bit.

Pros:
1. Phone calls are clear (like landline quality) when making and receiving calls.
2. Flexible, but sturdy; Made of silicone and titanium.
3. Not headache-inducing.
4. No hot and sweaty ears compared to over-ear headsets.
5. So light that sometimes you forget that you have it on.
6. Does not cause ear infection since the unit is outside your ears.
7. You look cool, and strangers will be asking you about it.
8. Chances are, you are the only one wearing it and people will be envious.
Cons:
1. Expensive.
2. Pinches the area of the upper jawbone (and outside the ear tragus) where the sound prongs touch the skin.
3. Bass is hardly audible unless you wear ear plugs.
4. Recharging unit is a proprietary magnetic connection instead of USB-C. Why, why, why?
5. No app for software updates for such an expensive unit.
CONCLUSION:
This is a very useful product which I use everyday.
Highly recommended.

I waited awhile to review because, this is either my third or fourth pair. The other ones tended to stop work, all within a year and this was an upgrade to those. So, get the extended warranty, better safe than sorry.
So far, this one is holding up fine. It appears that when the batter starts to get low, the person you are speaking with, starts to complain about being able to hear you. It is comfortable to me and I tend to wear it all day and even sleep with it on. The buttons are easy to use and get use to. They are flexible and the mic adds extra to the profile but is a benefit when talking. It is easy to connect and I use it on multiple phones.

I have been trying for e week diferet brand of airpods. Samsung, jabra, apple airpods pro. And refused all of them because they were uncomfortable for me. I hate to fill caps in my ears and this was the perfect solution for me.
I didn't know this technology until couple days ago. And after try that one in the show room at bestbuy, I decided to buy mine. If you want perfect listen quality in both sides. And good music quality with high volume. This will be the perfect choise. I never been so happy with a purchase like this.
This is amazing guys.

Sound quality is excellent. I had the aftershokz air for 2 years, the microphone is 1000 times better in a vehicle or noisy environments with the open comm. If you plan to use a headset for phone calls, this is the set for you! Battery life is excellent and the magnetic charging cable works great. This headset is allowed on construction sites, because your ears are not covered. And in most states, it's illegal to drive with headphones in your ears. The bone conduction works great. Only con, I wish the mic was detachable. It can be rotated out of the way, but it's still visible. My daughter said I look like I work at a fast food drive-thru...

These are the best longest lasting listening devices I’ve ever used! The are so light weight after a week, you don’t even know you are wearing them, I put them on when I get up and take them off before falling asleep. They connect to multiple devices at a time, so you can use with your with your cell phone and your office phone, your television, anything with blue tooth. And the mic, wow, my clients don’t realize I’m in the car, the sound is crystal clear.

Comfortable, but they break easily and when you are very gentle with them they still malfunction. They are quiet, can't turn the volume up with to hear people clearly. Battery lasts only about 3 to 4 hours. Charges quickly. They are comfortable, they don't squish your head but you can't sit back because you'll hit the band on a headrest etc. But if wearing while standing or sitting up it's easy to forget your wearing them.

I got these for multiple purposes: video calls for work, general phone calls (while listening to music), and the occasional video game session. I find earbuds unbearably uncomfortable and can't wear them for more than a few minutes; I'm better off with full headphones, but I do need to hear what's going on around me as well as my music.
So... these are comfortable, first off. The pads that sit in front of your ears are smaller than on the older Aftershokz headphones I had, they weigh a lot less, and nothing touches my hypersensitive ears at all.
The sound is good. I wouldn't say they match a pair of high-quality headphones, especially since the sound's going in through my skull instead of my ear, but it's good. And the battery life is great; I haven't let them run all the way down yet, but I'm easily getting 10 hours of solid listening out of them every day, and the battery isn't low after that.
The microphone is barely noticeable, but has much better sound quality than the non-boom ones I've had on other headphones; I tend to mumble, but this mic picks up my voice anyhow.
They're probably not for everybody; not everybody needs or wants a boom mic, and depending on the shape of your head, they may not be as comfortable for you, or may not sound as good as they do for me. But for me, they're perfect.

I’m a lead software engineer and scrum master of a dev team. During the last year when we were at home, just about any headphones with a good mic would do, but now that we are back in our open office I needed something with a mic that wouldn’t pick up the entire office. I’m enjoy listening to music while I work but I’m not a huge fan of headphones that cover my ears because I like hearing the conversations around me.
After some searching I found Opencomm and they are a great product. I paired both my work laptop and my phone to them. They easily make it through the day and would likely make it through a second or third day as well. Bone Conduction means that they don’t cover my ears so I can hear conversations around me. It does get distracting during meetings but I can deal with that. I can wear these most of the day and not even pause my music while talking to people as long as I don’t turn them up too high.
The microphone barely picks up any sounds around me. During our daily standup I have one person to my left and another directly behind me and the mic doesn’t normally pick them up. Some people’s voices carry enough for it to pick them up, but not many.
Too bad they chose a proprietary connector. At least they gave me a case that I can carry the headphones and cable with me. It protects them well enough that I don’t worry about throwing them in my backpack to transport them home and back again.
I have a couple of minor issues with them, though. First, when I am on a GTM call I have found I need to disconnect my phone or it will keep trying to reconnect. It will beep and say “connected” every few seconds. Second, I have found that I have to often switch devices in GTM or the mic won’t work. For both of these issues I blame Windows and/or GTM, I don’t think the headphones are at fault. Reconnecting after a meeting means turning them off and back on again, you cannot just reconnect the second device.
One thing I would love to see is an indicator that I am on a call. That way my coworkers would know whether I am just listening to music or in a meeting. Some other office headphones have that feature, but Opencomm does not.

This headset covers so many of my needs:
- I'm on conference calls a lot. Having something lightweight and open ear is game changing. I barely notice it. Conversations feel natural. Amazing.
- When I'm exercising (like biking), I don't like having something in or over my ears because I lose situational awareness. This headset lets me listen to podcasts without shutting out what's around me.
- Everything else is great. Battery life. Durability. Reliable connection.

I bought this because I spend several hours a day on conference calls for work and having a traditional headset over my ear was getting very uncomfortable. I’m really happy with these, they are comfortable, lightweight, they charge quickly and the charge lasts all days. Sound quality is adequate for voice but these aren’t good for music, movies, etc.

Terrible connectivity on PC

First, the good: These work great if you're connecting them to a cellphone. They connected to my phone instantly, and I was able to make a clear call with no drops or choppy, crap Bluetooth issues: zero setup or hassle involved. They're lightweight, comfortable, and aside from some slight pressure that gave me a bit of a headache until I got used to them (which happened quickly), I have no complaints about how they sit on my head. The slight vibration isn't distracting or bothersome at all. They also stay in place even while walking around or shaking my head -- my glasses fell off during my tests, and these stayed put.
But now for the bad: If you're not planning on using these on a mobile device don't bother with this trash. I tried to use them on 3 different PC's running Windows 10 and had the same issues on all 3 -- terrible connectivity, sound drops or garbled audio, and most of the time I could only get either the microphone or the sound to work, almost never both at the same time, with the exception of my laptop, on which the audio was so crackly and sporadic even then, it wasn't worth it. Discord could tell they were plugged in, but the microphone never registered any input. Even when they were set as my default audio device it was a miracle if any audio came through them at all.
The Aftershokz show up as both a headset, and headphones in the output devices, and I tried every combination of those settings I could, with no luck beyond a few choppy seconds of absolutely TERRIBLE audio before they would disconnect again. After the disconnect, they were often no longer discoverable, and I would have to power-cycle and reset the headphones, then re-pair them to even get them to show up in the device options again. I spent almost 3 hours messing with these things before I got so annoyed I gave up and stuffed them back in the box.
I'll be returning them. I need them for work conference calls, so they're useless if they won't connect to my computer, and I don't have hours to troubleshoot audio devices every day before work. My Arctis 7 headphones connect with NONE of these issues -- they're just too heavy to wear all day so I was hoping for an alternative. I expect significantly better at this price point.
In short -- great bluetooth headset for phone calls and those walking around with a mobile device in-hand all day. If you want a headset for Zoom calls, or conferencing from a computer, look elsewhere.

I haul fuel for a living and my fellow company drivers and I spend most of our road time each shift talking with each other over the phone. The problem with hearing other drivers while driving, as other truckers know, is that the cab of most trucks are noisier than one finds in a car, or in some office environment so a lot of the conversation can be missed, or it includes a lot of, "What was that, I didn't hear you?"
Blue Parrott blue tooth devices are of course a big favorite among truckers, I have one myself, and it works very well, but it has drawbacks. They're kind of bulky, when I'm outside in the hot sun the padded ear muff gets sweaty and slides off my ear, until recently they only had a one-ear receiver, if you lose the fluffy ball at the end of the boom mic the noise cancellation suddenly goes in the dumpster (which means the real noise cancellation IS the fluffy ball and the actual noise cancellation sucks), and the over-the-head design means you can't wear a hat while using the device because it is too short to go over the top and doesn't allow a hat to go over the device.
Enter the AfterShokz OpenComm. I had never used a bone conductive Bluetooth before so I was kind of unsure about this technology, but also kind of excited to try it out. I decided to try it by buying from Best Buy because they had a 15 day no hassle return policy which would allow me to buy with confidence in case the AfterShokz didn't work well in my work environment. Well I can say, after about five weeks of use with the AfterShokz at work that I love this thing, I've even been trying to get some of my fellow drivers to get their own. The bone conduction actually sounds as clear as any device I've used over-the-ear or in-the-ear, it's really weird how it sounds as if you're hearing it through your ear canal. It cures all the issues I've had with my Blue Parrott as well, I can wear hats, it doesn't slip off, it's very lightweight, it's flexibility makes it feel like it could take beating, and the noise cancellation in the boom mic is second to none. I can literally wear this thing next to my trucks exposed running engine, or in very strong Oklahoma winds and the other drivers tell me that they can hear me clearly and don't even hear the external noise around me at all, that is amazing!
Now I will point out that there is one drawback to this device, and at the same time that drawback can also be counted as a plus for truck drivers. We professional drivers are only allowed to use hands-free devices (Bluetooths) and in most states we have to have at least one ear unobstructed so that we can hear sounds around us. So the good point is that both of your ears are unobstructed with this device so you can stay within the law, but on the down side a pair of unobstructed ears allows outside sounds in your ear canal to compete with the bone conducted sound vibrating against your skull. Fortunately there is a fix for this issue, and that is to plug an ear. I actually use an old Bluetooth ear bud that is turned off, but which happens to fit very comfortably in my ears, as an ear plug. I only need to do this in noisy environments, like in a truck, so that I can hear better, in quieter settings it is not necessary to plug an ear, the bone conduction works great.
So my assessment is that this is probably the best Bluetooth headset I have ever owned and I am very pleased with my purchase (although I wish I had waited a few weeks because the price dropped $30 after that), so for my fellow drivers out there I say give it a try, Best Buy lets you try it for 15 days so you have nothing to lose. Truck Driver Approved......Copy that!
