    Too large for my ears

I was excited to use these OpenRun Pro 2’s by Shokz, as I had heard so much about them. Visually, they look “basic”, nothing really exciting about them other than that large band that will wrap around the back of your neck/base of your head. I put them on and I immediately knew they were not going to work. There is this large gap for the loop over my ears and rest outside the tragus (flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal) portion of the ear. They do not go inside the ear canal like traditional over-ear or in-ear earbuds. The purpose is for you to be completely aware of your surroundings if you are jogging, hiking, cycling and there are multiple points of danger around you. At the same time, you are able to listen comfortably to your music or podcasts, etc. The problem with me is the loop is so large that it rests way ahead of my tragus and I am not able to hear much of anything, even at full audio level. The loop does not conform whatsoever with my ears, I guess I have small ears? Even the band that goes at the back of the neck rests comfortably there but I was hoping there was an option to shorten it so that it can be snug around there. I’ve tried running outside with these on and I am able to hear about 50% of the content I had playing. At times, because they are on the larger side, they move up and down the ear and so I am afraid they are going to fall off. If I hold on to them with my hands and kind of move them back towards the canal, then I can get a more richer sound. Battery life is actually really good for these, as they lasted around 12 hours on my battery test. That is actually excellent compared to my other ear-buds that I own and use. Sound quality is not great as they sound tinny and not enough base. I would have liked to have louder volume on these. Overall, I do not believe that these OpenRun Pro 2’s are meant for me. They are just too large and don’t fit my head/ears. As a result I am not able to hear much of anything I am trying to listen to. Yes, they do allow me to be more aware of my surroundings, but I might as well be listening to my phone on speaker.

Love the comfort, sound is very clear and people around me can't hear the entire conversation. Love that I don't have to put something inside my ear!

Really like them, the souls is really good .. they are not your over the ear xlassic headphones sound , I have those too. I use them but I find I use these more, as I'm waiting for a phone call and don't want to miss it while I'm streaming from my tablet while listening by Bluetooth headphones I reach for these during the day. I highly recommend, I can be on my phone and still hear what is around me, that is excellent. Makes it an excellent choice, You can listen to your music, scroll Soc. Med., listen to an Audiobook, or a YT video, in a public setting, still be aware and able to hear if someone is addressing you, all while being courteous to everyone around you by wearing headphones...these help you...stay in the world... Not check out... Because sometimes you need to still hear what's going on around you for any number of reasons. I also got the swimmers pro, which also has its own storage, if you need to save battery or have limited data plan.

I wear headphone ALOT for meetings at work (byproduct of open floor plans), and these have absolutely removed ear fatigue issues I have had for the past year. Not having an in-ear pod constantly apply pressure to maintain position allows me to list to meeting, music, and movies all day without taking a break! Strong recommend for anyone on the fence, especially if you have headphones in your ears for more than 2 hours a day.

REALLY glad they started making a set that fit bigger heads! the original design was a little too small to properly fit me, but this generation fits great. The sound is clean and clear. I also bought a set for my father who wears hearing aids and he uses them to watch TV on a regular basis. I have tried out a couple other bone conducting headsets and in my personal opinion, you get what you pay for.

It works great. No problem with matching it with my phone or watch. The music is very clear and the battery last for several hours over several days without charging. It even tells you the remaining charge when first turned on.

A marked improvement over the 1st OpenRun Pro

I have been using the first generation of the OpenRun Pro for running and walking for about two years now, and I decided to see if this new version made them better- the answer is absolutely YES. Battery life is a little bit better, the fit and comfort are still just as good, but the sound is markedly better. Music and voice are clearer and richer, and this version avoids the vibration feeling you could get with the previous generation. On my runs I listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and music, and these headphones do well with all of them. You will still get better sound from high-quality earbuds or over-ear headphones, but if you want to still be able to hear around you for safety, like I do on runs, these are great.

I have been wearing my open earbuds for over a week. And a 1/2 now have not taken them off. These things are amazing. I don't know why anybody would ever want to use. No easy counseling unless it's for a specific reason. The other one just kept falling out of my ears. These things you can jog run. Do whatever you want. I'm absolutely loving them. Don't hesitate great quality. Good connection.

I love these. They fit great, and the sound quality is amazing. I love that there is a separate pause button away from the power and volume buttons. And my ears are very happy that I am no longer using the in-ear buds that caused so much discomfort. I wore these all day and almost forget they are on.

Where's the Bone Conduction??? Low base + Low vol

Overall these are pretty good. The quality of the sound is nice and clear, albeit low volume. And the battery life is long, and changes quick. But the new tech seems to not be doing any bone conduction at all (or VERY little). If I take and hold them half of an inch off of my skin (not touching me at all), the sound quality doesn't change at all. These have little speakers that emit sound into your ear cup instead of relying on the vibrations via bone conduction. I think because of this, the bass is very low. Just for transparency, the volume was so low, I consulted a friend who has had many bone conduction variants and they told me these had to be broke. So I exchanged them for a new pair, and the new pair are the same. I can barely hear a podcast at max volume, while jogging on a windy day. Other issue I have are with the high end. The ends are magnetic and snap together. When they do, you can hear a subtle ringing sound. This ringing sound also occurs with many mid-high to high frequencies and can be quite annoying.

I was looking for some open ears i could use for work in a environment where I needed to hear my surroundings but also be able to listen to music, these surpassed my expectations. The audio quality was much better than what I assumed and the fit VERY comfortably around my ear plus the 12hr battery life is great as well. All in all happy with my purchase and might buy the openfit 2 when they come out!!!
