Its hard not to fall in love with Shovel Knight!! This is a great throwback to gaming's 8-bit era.Difficult but definitely worth playing!

Suggestive that there are people that don't work at Nintendo capable of making games that work on multiple levels.

3ds has been in the market for 5 years, but this is one of the handfull of great games that you can get. Challenging, classic retro game feel. Better to get thus than the downloadable dopy as you can keep it physically as well.

What can I say about this game? Excellent 2D action akin to Castlevania. This is a hard game because death means starting back at beginning of level.

This game is amazing. If you're a fan of old school metroid or mega man or ducktails games you need to own this title. The controls are tight, the gameplay is fun and very challenging, and most of all, the game is fair. If you die, it's because YOU screwed up, not the game. The soundtrack is a great throwback to earlier games. Replayability, imo, is meh. I loved this game even though platformers aren't traditionally my favorites.

This game was began as a Kickstarter but became something so much more, reaching $240k over it's goal of $75k this truly became a great game. The developers, Yacht Club Games, set out to make a game that combined elements of classic NES titles like Super Mario Bros., Castlevania, and Mega Man which they named Shovel Knight. You play as Shovel Knight, who is on a quest to stop The Order of No Quarter and save his companion Shield Knight. Throughout the game you will tackle levels that will challenge your platforming skills all while collecting treasure, fighting bosses, and meeting fun, creative characters. I highly recommend this game to everyone, it's fun and I guarantee it will leave a smile on your face.

If you love 8 bit era platformers then you can't help but love this game. Great humor, excellent controls and fantastic graphics. "2D style" games look fantastic in 3D. If you have played any of the Sega 3D classics you'll know what I mean. Plus this comes with a beefy full color instruction manual. Unfortunately quite the rarity nowadays.

The game is an amazing retro platformer that does its own unique play style. A simple game for anyone to try.
