Very good movie. Acting, directing and story are phenomenal. The movie constantly makes you question the legitimacy of the authorities involved. Overall, the increased resolution of the 4k movie is not very impressive. HDR and Atmos are the reasons to buy this over the original Blu-Ray. Would highly recommend this to any crime buff.

This movie has such an great and enthralling story. The suspense and score engulf you in this movie of danger and intrigue. Excited to see more stories with these characters. Benecio de Toro is scary good in this movie! More please.

Gorgeously made, with a set piece taking place in tunnels underneath the border that conveys chaos without ever looking incoherent and a throbbing Jóhann Jóhannsson score that's the sound of very bad things on the horizon

Visually the movie is impressive as well as having an intelligent and provocative storyline. Just three short vignettes are available as special features; interesting, but they should have added more content.

Excellent drama about the drug wars and the mexican cartels along the texas border. Great acting and the plotline is consistent with todays law enforcement activities. Realistic, exciting and entertaining! Worth the price!

This movie has been on rotation in my house since released on Blu Ray. The action, suspense and story are top notch. The acting is superb and gives the movie a sense of realism. One of my favorite films of the past decade!

Fabulous film in all facets.... acting, plot, action, cimematography, thought provocation ... This film draws you in and keeps you riveted to the very end. Best film of 2015 certainly and simply darn near perfect...

This was one of my favorite movies of 2015 and here’s another look, this time on Blu ray. It’s always fun to go back to watch great movies. You can rely less on plot focus and just look at the technical aspects of the film. And you might even answer a question or two that had you a bit befuddled the first time around. Here, it became clearer as to what Alejandro’s past entailed and specifically why the U. S. was supporting his clandestine operation. One of the things that stood out was the wonderful photography of Roger Deakins. Using New Mexico for most of the shooting, vast open spaces were certainly consistent with the look south of the border. There is a great shot of the shadow of a miles high airplane flying across a barren mesa. Even more impressive were the night shots, some reportedly in total darkness. Using infrared and night goggles, the scenes are fluid and foreboding. Another unforgettable element of the film is the first rate soundtrack composed by Johann Johannsson. In one scene, several helicopters approach the border, flying low. We hear the blades rotating and first quietly, then getting louder, culminating in an ominous crescendo of acoustic basses, cellos, horns and drums that set the tone of the film. The Blu ray package includes a DVD and a digital download. It comes with a 1080p video resolution shot with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio. The transfer looks great. The movie was shot using digital cameras and they work well with the sometimes dusty, brown countryside. This is not a film that produces eye popping colors although some of the dirty street scenes of Juarez (actually Mexico City) still provide an assortment of blues, yellows and reds. Various close ups provide excellent skin tones. You can clearly see the red rash around Kate’s neck after a close encounter of the male kind. The audio is top notch with a Dolby Atmos track that defaults to Dolby TrueHD 7.1. The film includes the aforementioned helicopters panning across the room but there are high speed SUVs marching through narrow streets and plenty of the pop, pop, pop of gunfire. Johannsson’s score becomes part of the movie itself, raising the tension and it thunders throughout the room and keeps the sub(s) plenty busy. Subtitles are available in English SDH and Spanish. A great movie and a great transfer. Blacks are solid and inky, resolution exhibits light film grain but excellent resolution. HDR allows for great clarity, and amazing shadow detail. Colors are somewhat muted, but I suspect by director's choice.

If you have not yet watched this movie, you're really missing out on a great action film! After watching this movie, watch its sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Both of these movies are awesome!

If you like Action semi political thrillers this is it. A few awesome plot twists and Benicio Del Toro is a power house, doesn't hurt when you have Emily Blunt as the main character either. Loved every minute of it.

One of my favorite movies a must own non stop action!!

This movie was very intense. He points out the complexity and reality how’s the drug world. Although this may not be a movie I want to watch again and again it certainly was a movie that was impactful.

Not a fan of cartel related movies, but this one was actually good. Cast of great actors. Most movies focus on the cartel side, this one shows the guys who take them down. A must watch for any action movie fan.

This is a gorgeous steelbook and a fantastic film.

Movie depicts the reality in the modern world between the Law and the Cartel. Sometimes behind walls you can find fear and death. Great start to what is an amazingly entertaining franchise.
