Not a lot of action in this movie but it is a relaxing easy going and enjoyable ride with these 2 guys. These two men go on a road trip for a bachelor party get a way. They stay up in Sonoma Valley where they visit the wineries and meet two single women there. There is drama after that.

Paul Giamotti and Thomas Hayden Church are both brilliantly cast in this zany mid-life crisis road trip through Napa Valley. It's got plenty of heart, but doesn't shy away from some emotional issues. Highly recommend this flick.

Excellent movie with stellar performances by the 4 main characters. Great humor through out the movie. One of the best road trip movies I've seen. Makes me want to go on a wine tasting tour. Must see movie.

This film has some of the best acting in a comedy. The whole cast is great and the plot is superb! Having this film on Blu-ray makes it even better even though it's not the best transfer. But despite that, this film deserved its Golden Globe for best picture in a comedy and Alexander Payne's directing is excellent. I highly recommend this film and the Blu-ray is a bargain!

Sideways focuses on a man named Miles who is a middle school teacher, a failed author, is in a mid-life crisis. He goes with his best friend to Wine Country for a week to celebrate his friend's marriage as a week-long bachelor party. It's a well written movie and Paul Giamatti delivers a fantastic performance as the depressing Miles.

I purchased the movie DVD Sideways at Best Buy for Father's Day. Excellent movie, with downloadable SD version. Plus, Best Buy had a $5 e-gas card. I printed out the e-gas card, called the phone number on it, and found out I could use it without buying gas. Thanks Best Buy, for the bonus. Also, the Blu-ray was way under-priced.

Alexander Payne's most-loved film about two middle-aged failures on a wine tasting trip. Giamatti and Church's casting are the key here. They completely embody these roles. Whenever I see either of them in anything else, I always think "Oh it's Miles/Jack acting". Great balance of drama and naturalistic comedy.

A really interesting story of former college roommates whose lives are a complete mess. Sort of a "men are scum" tale, with real hints of redemption at the end. Very funny, and a must-see if you like wine (or Paul Giamatti).

I first saw this movie with a friend who trying to teach me more about wines. We laughed our way through the whole thing. Paul Giamatti became a favorite of mine with this film. You will never think about Merlot the same way again.

When I first saw it back in the day, didn't get much the booze on this movie, years later I see why is an indie cult classic.

I love this movie about 2 pals heading up to wine country for tasting and golf. One of them who is getting married decides to go all out and the trouble it leads to...great amusing movie and beautiful scenery.

One of the best movies of 2000's. The script is so good, so depressing but at the same time funny and smart. Giamatti is the best in this film. All 4 main performances are so good.

Great script and acting, highly enjoyable! Pretty interesting commentary track included as well.

Slower paced drama. Paul Giamatti is going to take his college buddy on a California wine country taste and restaurant travel trip before his buddy Thomas Haden Church gets married. Giamatti is still depressed after his divorce from his former wife. Interested but if you like your movies with more pace. probably not for you. Interesting different locations you would not normally see in a movie.

Great story and great direction by Alexander Payne. The acting is top notch especially by Church & Giamatti!
