I had to get one for myself. I am really pleased and it’s easy to set up! Worth the price

We purchased our SimpliSafe with several wireless Motion Detectors, one wireless entry hall Keypad and the Base Station in white. Very attractive. Only the Base Station's rechargeable LiOn batteries requires AC power, everything else in our home system is long-life battery powered (more than 1-2 years). The sensors attach via stick-on glue pads into corners or on flat surfaces, including painted interior walls. Look great and are unobtrusive. We tested each motion sensor we installed for range and coverage and we very satisfied. Base Station has nice female voice that announces things like "Motion detected in main hallway" or "Motion detected in basement" since you can name the location of each sensor you install. You supply SimpliSafe with contact info for several people you want them to call in case of a tripped alarm. If none of those people can be immediately reached on their cell phones, SimpliSafe calls the local police. The system works great. If main AC power to the home is turned off, the battery backed up Base Station can still work just fine for several weeks (all the wireless detectors work for years on battery, don't require AC) and SimpliSafe will call your contacts to alert you to any AC power failure. A wide variety of sensors are available, for example, a wireless water sensor, wireless glass breaking sound sensor, wireless motion sensors, wireless magnetic window/door opening sensors, and wired surveillance cameras - all can be added to your system and all monitored by the SimpliSafe Base Station. We also purchased the available key fobs. Lowest cost monthly fee in the Home Security business! And the SimpliSafe technical assistants you can call for guidance during set up are friendly and very knowledgeable.
