Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the 49" Class (48.5" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV for its excellent picture quality and affordable price. Many customers were impressed with the easy setup process and the superb sound quality. While some customers wished it were a smart TV, most agreed that the cons, such as brightness, refresh rate, motion blur, and remote control, were minor and did not detract from the overall positive experience.

Worked fine for the first month then after the 5th week it started to turn off my it self or changing channels by it self. Didnt buy the protection for it which was my biggest mistake now best by does not want to be responsible for it. Of course they wouldn't. Not happy with this product at all.

Bought this Jan 10, 2016 and after 4 1/2 years, it juts stopped working. Black screen, nothing. NO troubleshooting would work. Go figure. Thanks Toshiba... this is also why I don't buy your laptops anymore.

Not a Smart TV, just a smart buy

A tremendous bargain. Toshiba is no longer selling TVs in America other than a few models at Best Buy. Why buy a smart tv when the Roku, Apple TV, Fire stick, most BluRay players and the like fulfill those functions? It gets a great picture and the sound is good, although I use sound bars or surround sound systems for many programs. I have both the 49-inch and 55-inch versions. These inexpensive TVs are a great home addition. i am waiting to get a 4K TV until programming increases.

I couldn't be happier with this TV, for the money it can't be beat. It looks perfect, picture is as good as any. Great color and sharpness and no motion blur. Sound is great, better than most. I like the headphone jack and needed the fiber optic sound out for my older surround receiver.

    Great television for the price

This was the best price I could find on a ~48" tv without being a "smart tv." For general tv shows and movies it is great. For fast moving sports in 1080i, such as hockey, it is not quite up to the task. Considering the price, I'm willing to make that trade-off, but if I had more to spend, I'd get one which has a better refresh rate, especially for 1080i DirecTV broadcasts

Tv is very pixelated when the screen/ scene changes. Skin tones are horrible. Mottled Brown shading on all skin tones. Sound quality is very poor. Hard to understand what is being said. If I had not thrown away the box I would return it !

    Good picture, Solid 49" LED 1080p w/ 3HDMI

Without calibration and just running the Standard picture mode, very satisfied with the picture running the WiiU and X360 there. Picture looks great all things considered, not quite the black levels of the E40‑C2 or anything but still a nice LED HDTV image. For $150 i can't complain about the extra $300 i didn't spend on it. Provided it holds up, i'm satisfied with it its 3 HDMI ports and has better sound than i expected. The bezel and stand/ feet are also attractive compared to what you would find in budget brands. All in all: A 5/5 as $150 BF Doorbuster deal, and a solid 4/5 for a non-smart 60hz LED 1080p TV. No Reference quality stuff but It really does look quite nice.

I did a lot of research before I purchased this TV. In short, I want you to know that this TV is great. Well worth the money, I even bought the "open-box" version because hey, just a damaged box but I save another extra 60 bucks? Yes. The sound is amazing. It's literally so loud that I keep it only at 10. The picture is great, very sharp. It was east to install on a wall mount as well.

This TVs picture is great, I like loud sound from a TV... this TV isnt that loud I mean its perfect for a bedroom but for a living room or big space I would suggest getting a sound bar or I have surround sound speakers n sub woofer, but for the price it was perfect for my budget, since my lg tv just blacked out on me the day before superbowl, so of course I had to immediately go out & buy a TV the price was great $350. I'm happy!!

I had this tv 4 days. Mounted it in bedroom, all was good then all of a sudden there was no picture. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked for a little while. Returned it for a different model.

Picture quality is good. No ghosting in video games or action movies. It takes some tinkering with the settings to get the colors/brightness right but it can be done. The predefined settings are terrible. Use these as a baseline and tweak to your preference: Picture Mode Standard Backlight 50 Contrast 75 Brightness 10 Color -4 Tint 0 Sharpness 10 Advanced Picture Settings ColorMaster Off Color Temperature Medium Static Gamma 3 DynaLight Off Dynamic Contrast Off My only complaint so far - the speakers are terrible.

After looking at the reviews for this tv and then seeing it on sale for under $300 I went ahead and bought it. The tv has an excellent picture and very good sound, it was also easy to set up.

    Happier after adjustments

Was not initially happy with this tv as I was not able to get skin tones-reds and oranges quite right. Found the following settings for this specific and am much happier with purchase. Motion lag with sports still an issue: Picture mode: Standard Backlight: 90 Contrast: 55 Brightness: 5 Tint:0 Sharpness: +5 In the Advanced Menu: Color Temperature: Medium, Gamma: 0 DynaLight: High Dynamic Contrast: Low, Edge Enhancer: On Now you definitely need to play with the color settings...luckily the TV's 'ColorMaster' Menu/Base Color Adjustment provides tweaks for each individual color. I only messed around with the Red, Green, and Blue settings in here. In order of Hue, Saturation, Brightness: Red: +5, -14, -15 Green: -6, 0, 0 Blue (The color this TV seems to have the most issues with): -15, -15, -11 Note that each input's settings are independent of one another, so if you switch to a different HDMI, you will have to mess with the settings again under the menu.

Love this tv, associates there will try to have you spend 3,000 dollars on a 4K tv but it's totally not necessary if your looking for a tv to watch your favorite series this is exactly what you need, buying Samsung or LG is not necessary this is just fine for someone who doesn't want a Best Buy credit card or to not pay for a tv that is going to be outdated in a year. And the size is perfect just buy it and leave in a hurry before they try to cram any more money out of your pocket you won't be disappointed:)

Purchased to replace my old 32" Sony Flat LCD Screen. I originally intended to use this cheap priced TV in my basement or bedroom, but upon setting up and using this TV, and have decided to use this as my main living room TV. The screen clarity, color, balance is an outstanding value! Sound is pretty good also. As an earlier reviewer stated, the color was slightly off, and was easily adjusted. Just right size at 49".

I had been searching high and low for the perfect tv with the perfect size for a decent price. So with that being said yesterday I bought this particular tv because the picture was so clear in the store, the size was perfect and the price was AMAZING! I did run into the issue of having to return it due to a few vertical colored lines going through the picture. It also had a vertical black edge going down the left hand side cutting off all the words and channel numbers. However after I returned it and exchanged it for a new one I haven't had any issues. So maybe the first one was a bag egg in the bunch. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to others. Thanks Best Buy & Toshiba
