I don't know if Solo is a great Star Wars film. It is different. More of a heist sci fi movie than a Star Wars movie. Still it was a good watch; at least for one time.

Solo filled some storylines in about Han Solo, while it doesn't stand up to Rogue One status of a stand alone film it still has the look of what youd expect

Great movie, only complaint is the rush of a crash course of Solo's youth. I think they could have spent a little more time on this, but that's just me.

Man, this has to be the best Star Wars movie in a long time. I watched in ultra 4k on our OLED C8 TV, and our experience was quite the memory. LOVE IT!

When George Lucas sold LucasFilm, including Star Wars, there was much grumbling in the fan base -- the biggest question: What would Disney do to the franchise they so loved? We now have 4 feature films and 2 new animated series by which to judge Disney's stewardship of the franchise, and it is a mixed bag. The latest installment is Solo, one of Disney's new 'A Star Wars Stories' spin off films. Although not one of the best Star Wars films (for me that remains Star Wars, or as it is now called Ep IV A New Hope) Solo is actually a well done film and like its predecessor, Rouge One, a nice addition to the Star Wars Franchise. The story itself is relatively simple -- Boy loses Girl, Boy regains Girl, Girl has her own agenda. Given the material they have to work with, the cast acquits themselves admirably, and indeed several do excellent work (particularly Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Erin Kellyman). Art Direction is excellent - this looks like the galaxy we remember from the original Star Wars trilogy and although Ron Howard was brought in as a replacement director after production had already begun, he and his crew & actors have made a worthy addition to the saga. (One can only wonder how this film would have turned out had the original directors been allowed to finish the film.) Video & Audio on the Blu-ray disc are excellent with a nice collection of supplemental material for fans to dive into. Again, this is not he best Star Wars film, but it is certainly not the worst.

Only gripes I have with this is that it doesn’t include a DVD but it’s ok since all adirional content on the Blu Ray is in the Digital version

I really enjoyed this movie. Great to see some back story of a favorite Star Wars character. This movie sounds amazing and looks fantastic in 4k.

I love Star Wars. I was a bit reluctant to buy this because of the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing beats the original movies but this was entertaining.

Movie provides the missing pieces of Han Solo’s early years before he met Luke and Obi-One Kenobi in the Cantini. How fast did he do the Kessel run?

My husband and I are huge Star Wars fans. A prequel to Rogue One. Solo had a lot of great action. Awesome special effects and some funny moments.

Good price for good movie! Also had the friendliest and knowledgeable staff to help with purchase of the movie and a camera for my teen.

While I thought the idea of an origin story for a solidly established character was unnecessary, the film is a decent story in the Star Wars universe. The characters are likable, the action is good, and overall it feels like part of the universe. However, having said that, I thought the film does come up a bit short in several instances - where Solo got his name (SERIOUS let down and unnecessary), the villain (decent, but not as intimidating as one would've hoped), and they killed off several of the more likable and interesting supporting characters (not to mention the Falcon's navigation computer). Lastly, the film ends with a hint at Han's travel to Tatooine, trying to pair the film to the original Star Wars, almost forcing the connection. Again, considering how well we already knew this character, pointing out the connection to Jabba and Tatooine is just a blunt and weak attempt to fit it to Star Wars, which isn't even needed at all. Overall, the film is an enjoyable romp through the galaxy with an interesting heist story, and the cast is a good set of characters. Hollywood needs to learn that you don't need to force things, to press connections to other films in such a blatant way, and instead give their audience a little mental credit. Subtly and discovery are great tools to give the audience, instead of hammering bluntly to make sure we (the audience) know how it "fits" in the rest of the cinematic series. A fun film, but a few blaster shots short of a great one.

I'm not sure why it was reviewed poorly by critics, I enjoyed the movie. The first meeting with Chewie was great! Is it Empire? No, but what else is?

some didn't like this movie but I found it to be action packed and real entertaining liked it better than any of the most currant star wars movies

It may not be a great Star Wars Movie but it is a fun watch. The end for me is a much better setup for the Solo movie I want than the one we actually got.

Very fun film, definitely can’t have your Star Wars collection without it. Ton of action and a few really cool surprises. Absolutely recommend it!

Honestly, this steelbook looks great and it's one of my favorites of the new Star Wars films. It starts off a little shaky but eventually finds its footing

A good but not great story. It was entertaining but not as good as other recent franchise films. More time could have been put into the back story of Han Solo.

A good fun Star Wars movie. Acting was decent. Special effects were as expected. Plot was a little slow, but overall it was well worth watching.

Very cool glossy steelbook & great 4k quality. Say what you will about the movie, I enjoyed it for what it was. Just a light action entry.
