Wanted to add a flexible, outdoor capability to my Sonos home system. The sale on this first generation Roam is a good fit. Good sound, battery life and nice size easy to sit anywhere. Like flexibility of WiFi hook into my home system or use standalone with Bluetooth. App works well for selecting my music source, music choice and speakers I wish to play through. Very happy and highly recommend. NOTE: I had an initial problem with WiFi and registration of this speaker. There is a lot of discussion online about the problem. As I was working through whether to return it, an update became available from Sonos. I performed the update and the speaker works flawlessly on WiFi and registering it was no problem.

The Sonos Roam SL is the perfect addition to any one that has a Sonos system or is looking to get into the Sonos EcoSystem. Set up is super easy, just download the Sonos App from the app store or google Play Store and follow the steps in creating a Sonos account (or logging into an existing account) and add your internet network to the app and then pressing the the Play/Pause button and you will get a pop of the SONOS Roam and your ready to go. The nice thing about it being Wifi enabled is you just select where you want Audio from on your respective streaming app and it Roam will start playing. The sound quality is what you expect from SONOS and for such a compact wireless speaker it packs quite the punch. The bass is exceptional and the volume gets decently loud. I highly recommend pairing this with the Roam Wireless Base charger so you never have to worry about turning it off or having to charge it. A fun fact about the wireless charger is that it can also charge your wireless devices such as your phone or your wireless headphones. The Roam is also a bluetooth speaker so you can bring this on the go and not have to worry about being on a wifi connection in order to use it. The included instructions do not explain whatsoever how to enable Bluetooth and I accidentally held down the power button to put into pairing mode, where you then see a blue light flashing and you go to your bluetooth setting on your phone and pair it to the Roam. Bluetooth Connection issue aside, the bluetooth feature is great and because of its size makes it one of the best on the go bluetooth speakers. So overall you can't go wrong with the SONOS Roam SL and if you already have a SONOS system you have to add this device to the ecosystem.

Really like it as a small portable option to have some music with you at all times. Easy to set up and add to your Sonos ecosystem if you're looking for that. Sound is pretty good for what it is. Connecting through Bluetooth works well. If you want something with amazing base or to play really loud music this might not be for you. It does a good job for what it is and trying to accomplish.

The roam sl has great sound quality for its size , I use it daily. I like the fact that it has water proofing. It wont shake your house down the sound is tuned just right . The battery life is okay. I would buy it again.

The speaker has good volume, good fidelity (not as good as the Sonos Move, but then again the Roam is much cheaper and smaller), and good battery. It takes a bit of time to reconnect via wifi if the speaker has been disconnected for awhile, but then again this is a portable speaker with sleep features, so that's to be expected.

great rich sound, size, appearance, easy to use. wish it could handle bass a bit better, especially at higher volumes but understand limitations based on the size of the speaker. otherwise, 5 stars. The app was not easy to use, struggled to setup up the speaker on the app. prefer not to use the app.

Great sound and I love the portability. Connects to my Sonos system or I can take it wherever and connect to Bluetooth. Nice and compact too!

This speaker is great. Sonos products are solid the Bluetooth connects easily it’s loud but small and easy to use.

Sonos products are just simple to use. This is my third Sonos speaker (Sonos Rey & sonos 1 sl) and I’m really impressed with this little speakers ability. I’m using it as an extra speaker plugged in in our kitchen and it really rounds out the other speakers in the house by filling that area that’s more out of the way. We also take this thing to the beach all the time. It’s lasted many hours without charging and even by the crashing waves it still gives off good sound I’m the immediate area. I’ll definitely be packing this on every trip

Perfect portable addition to our Sonos system. We have Sonos play one speakers throughout our home and love them. We have small portable Bluetooth speakers but they did not sync with our inside music when we are outside. I was not sure we needed this but it was Christmas..... so igavecit as a gift and it's great! Easily integrated with the home wifi system and is great as a standalone portable Bluetooth speaker on vacation with better sound than our cheaper small speaker. Great complement.

We have a Sonos system with an Arc & subwoofer. The sound is great. We wanted to add a wireless speaker for outdoor listening & added the Roam. The connectivity through our WIFI is inconsistent. After a long troubleshooting session with Sonos tech support, they determined that our Verizon router incorporates an "extender" (model CR1000A) & that extender conflicts with the Roam. Their suggestion was to upgrade the router, but we have no issues with the WIFI otherwise. I discovered that you can connect the roam by Bluetooth instead, and it works more reliably.

We love this product so much, that we have purchased 4 of them in total. Our 13 and 18 year both got one for Christmas- it was probably their favorite gift. It’s portability- long battery life and phenomsl sound make this a great speaker. We don’t have any complaints.

Roam SL is used as a single speaker with phone/pad to listen to music. Set up was a bit difficult. I called Sonos support. They were helpful and quickly resolved the problem (speaker was open box and had not been returned to factory set up). Sound is excellent for music a bit bassy for voice. I had been concerned that the speaker would not work, due to all the problems with the with the S2 app. Speaker set up was early October, 2024. There have been no issues with the app, in this basic configuration

The battery life, sound quality, and volume on this speaker are unlike any others of similar size and price that I have had. My only small gripe is getting the short vs long press down on the power button, which is a bit of a learning curve due to the very slight difference between the two.

The Roam SL is very easy to set up and use. It is convenient to pick up and take from room to room. It has a high-quality sound and the battery lasts a good amount of time.

The speaker is great!!!! The app is frustrating! The app would not add my Sonos Roam SL. Although it would recognize the speaker, it would not add to my system. I learned that the updated app had glitches and would not add my speaker. Tech support was very poor, after waiting 55 minutes, I was told to wait for the next update. The tech could not provide me with a timeline for the next update. He told me to go on their website. I made two calls to support and both were useless. I knew their script better than they did. I waited two weeks before I decided to return the speaker and the app finally added my Sonos Roam SL and I've been in music heaven with a pair of them.

I have several other Sonos products. This provides the same great sound quality as the others with some improvements in set up and pairing. The battery life is good for most of a day. The only down side I have found is the sound level "power" is not as great as as the other Sonos, so it needs turned up a little more. This will not fill a yard with aound like the more powerfull move. It is great for tossing in a backpack or where space is limited. Set-up is easy with the app or bluetooth.

You might be new to sonos, or are looking to add a flex to take outside or with you. It’s perfect for either of those things and more! It slots into any nook you can think of for stealth but awesome source of sound. Easy to grab and go for roadtrips or picnics at the park. I have it nearby for a bluetooth and airplay enabled TV, great late nights if you don’t want to wake up the kids or guests; allows you to have the sound right next to you and not bother others. If you have a beam or other sonos soundbar, say on the TV playing a sports game; you quickly grab this Roam press and hold the main button and mirror the sound of the game outside; perfect for the grill master to stay tuned to both games. Just get it!
