I recently purchased a Sony A7r IV and wanted to get a good general purpose lens for everyday use. My experience with Zeiss lenses in the past has been very favorable, so I went with this 24-70mm zoom. It is well-made with a solid feel to it. The zoom ring and focusing ring both move very smoothly. It is not overly heavy and works very well with the autofocus feature of the camera. The other nice feature is that the price of this lens is below the comparable Sony zoom.

Literally the best lens I’ve ever owned. Perfect for just about everything. It is my go to lens. I refuse to use the stock lens that came with my A7C and this one is just perfect.

Great for taking a pictures while zooming a lot. Very versatile

First outing with my Sony a7iii was to Italy and the camera and this lens didn’t disappoint. Great size for walking about, and was able to capture the narrow streets and cathedral interiors with ease.

Purchased this lens to compliment my Sony A73. The G Master was way to much and the Tamron is impossible to get. Regardless the optic on the Zeiss F4 are really good, focus is fast and I have enjoyed using the lens with the A73. I took a star away for the cost of the lens.

Beautiful lens. I bought for cinema purposes as I make short films. It's spectacular and very sharp and is now my go to for just about anything I do. And if you are just looking for photos it's beyond amazing for it's price. A larger aperture is always favored for portraits and that's where this lens has a downside as it only goes to f/4 though it still presents a good amount of blur and even at f/8 you can get really nice compression when zoomed in. You can't go wrong with zeiss glass.

I love using this lens. Use it mostly for video. It is designed for that. It focuses very quickly and it is silent. Totally happy with the quality and contrast of the image.

Ive been playing around with this lense for a month now and I'm very happy with it! Focus's fast, great in low light and the range is perfect for my needs.

For the price, this lens gets the job done at a steal. f4 is plenty open enough for my line of work, and the quality is great.

Works great with Sony A6300 mirrorless camera. The ZEISS glass makes a difference in my photos. Pictures turn out very detail and the ability to have a constant F4 is another advantage for shooting in low light. Have done some portrait shots, and the results are amazing! The 24 to 70 also is great for taking photos at a gathering, gives you the ability to zoom in for surprise shots. I have also used it for video in 4K and results are far better than my 55-210 lens though if need to be zooming in and out, you are better off with a electronic zoom lens.

I got this lens to replace the original. Nice weight, quality photos and perfect for taking along on hiking trips.

This lens works very well with an A72, in camera lens corrections work very well. I was surprised by the speed of the autofocus, I was not expecting it to be that fast. Great Zeiss color and bright image. While not the sharpest lens I have used, it is good for most of the photos I take. From what I have seen on line, this would not be a good lens for an A7R or R2. But it works great on my A72, and open box price made it a good deal!

I bought this lens to pair with my new a7ii, because I was expecting it to be far sharper than the kit lens. I had read and watched many reviews about this lens, and many were mixed and did not feel that it lived up to the price or the Zeiss name. I also had mixed results some shots were great and others were very average at best. I have had great results with the 16-70mm Zeiss lens on my a6000, but this lens was just not as consistent and sharp. I want a mid range zoom that can be as close to prime lens sharpness, so I returned this lens and upgraded to the 24-70mm G Master.

After purchasing the Sony A7ii, I wanted to upgrade the kit lens to a better lens. I purchased this one based on the recommendation of the Best Buy/Sony rep. I have been VERY pleased with the results. Higher quality lens DOES make a HUGE difference. The only con is its at a higher price than some of its competitors equivalents. But the PROS outweigh the CONS for me.

This is the firts lens that I bought for my sony a7riii, is a light sharp and versatile lens that does an excellent job . You cant complain for what you get at this price range . Yes a Gmaster lens is better you would say but they are super expensive and way heavier .if you’re trying to keep it light this is an excellent lens

I bought this lens to lighten up my camera bag, it replaces my 85mm and 35mm. It is a great lens; pictures are sharp and the bokeh is almost as good as the 85mm. It can keep up with the 7r IV with autofocus and eye focus. Overall, this is a great lens.

it's worth spending some money on a lens because it shows a major difference in quality with a cheap lens. i like the range. there's one like this that can open up to 2...if not 1.4...but it's way more $$$ that's not all that necessary since the iso/asa on this camera can go so high

I admit that I hesitated to buy this lens based upon early negative reviews--that I now regret having listened to. After carrying around a "pro" 24-70 f2.8 from another brand for years, I can tell you that I prefer the shots from this lens. Great contrast and clarity with solid construction. This is a keeper!

Just purchased the brand new Sony A7r ii and needed a good lens. Had a Zeiss zoom lens on my previous camera. For a zoom lens this is the best you can get for a full frame e mount. As any zoom lens it will never be as good as prime lenses but this is a very sharp lens especially for a zoom.
