They've somehow figured out how to encapsulate all of the desirable optical qualities you'd get with a very good prime into a zoom. I decided to upgrade after getting frustrated by its slow AF during a recent trip.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this glass is very good for everyday shooting, whether you're an auto shooter or an experienced photographer, however... For a Zeiss lens, I thought photo's would be a little more sharper with this glass. Yes, the contrast is better than the stock Sony glass, and things such as bokeh is really nice, the photo's could be a lot better. I think you're better off with the Sony FE 24 - 200mm lens because while one would really expect photo's to be sharp on a Sony telephoto lens, it is (at the least) on par with this Zeiss lens.
