I think this glass is very good for everyday shooting, whether you're an auto shooter or an experienced photographer, however... For a Zeiss lens, I thought photo's would be a little more sharper with this glass. Yes, the contrast is better than the stock Sony glass, and things such as bokeh is really nice, the photo's could be a lot better. I think you're better off with the Sony FE 24 - 200mm lens because while one would really expect photo's to be sharp on a Sony telephoto lens, it is (at the least) on par with this Zeiss lens.

I bought this along with the A7Sii. They didn't have the 16-35 in stock and I thought this would work pretty well. Don't get me wrong, it's average sharp, but I brought the A7Sii back and got an A7Rii so I wanted something that could take advantage of the higher resolution. I ended up with the 28mm F2 and the 90mm Macro, both Sony. They are super sharp. The 24-70 was good for video. The lens has great auto focus.

I saw mixed reviews online and decided to give it a shot. It turned out pretty good and met my expectation. I like it !!

This is a great lens. I use it on my a7r and a7s. Compact and light.

This was the first lens that I purchased for my new SonyA7RII and could not be any happier with the quality of the product. I would highly recommend this for beginners, intermediate level filmmakers and professional level filmmakers.

I bought the Sonya7sll, I could not see anything. Salesman said I should try it with a Len's. Man was he smart, it did work better with a Len's, so I bought a lens, probably will by few more Len's from that salesman,he is smart. The camera works better,and my hips look smaller. Thanks

If you want an extremely sharp lens, get this one.

I have a number of prime lenses I use, but found that for traveling and general photography, this lens works best. If you like to just take pictures of stuff and dont want to bring all of your lenses with you while traveling, this is the lens for you. Just get it....

I have always loved the Zeiss lens. They provide nice sharp images.

I love this lens. Don't be daunted by it "only" being f/4 because it allows you to capture amazing pics. It's lite, built well, and is a workhorse! Other than my 70-200 f/4 this is my 2nd goto lens that I always have with me.

Decent for a starter zoom lens. I find it’s not all that sharp. Lot of better options out there.

I use this lens with the Sony A7s. They work perfectly together.. The auto focus works waaay better than my crop sensor sony18-200 lens. Love this lens.. Wont buy cheaps lens every again after owning this baby!
