Sony does not provide bluetooth audio profile

I finally upgraded to a smart TV with bluetooth because I wanted to be able to pair my wireless earbuds with my TV like my son does on his Samsung Smart TV. Much to my dismay, I learned the bluetooth that is on the Sony only allows pairing with controllers and Logitech keyboards. I only found this out after we could not get my earbuds to pair with the TV and googled how to do it. How disappointing. I also learned that this TV only has a 60 hz refresh rate. The motionflow XR240 is suppose to help overcome the 60 hz so you can "Enjoy fast-moving movies, sports and video games with virtually no motion blur." I like the phrase - virtually no motion blur. For some reason, I was thinking that if I was purchasing a 4K HDR Ultra HD TV, it would have a minimum refresh rate of 120 hz. I mean it is Ultra HD. Come on. I was also not impressed with the Android TV and all the permissions they were requesting. There was even a blurb in the agreement that stated that information shared with third parties in other countries may not have the same protection as the United States. The picture on the XBR-49X800D is better and the look of the TV is much more stylish than my previous Sony, but not enough to warrant spending $700. I will be returning this TV and continue using my old Sony. It is a 1080 p and has a refresh rate of 60 hz. My Roku stick has the apps I like. I also learned I can buy a bluetooth audio transmitter to pair my earbuds to my old Sony. I can't say this TV is bad, the picture looks good, the TV is stylish. It just isn't worth the cost of the the upgrade compared to what I currently have.

Our 40in Samsung TV of 8 years stopped working. Ben at our Best Buy store guided us to this Sony TV, and recommended going up a size due to the frames being so much narrower. The size is perfect, and the sound is perfect for our townhouse. The color is brilliant - the blacks are really black. We mainly watch movies and tv shows on netflix and the screen works great in lowlight. Currently watching the Olympics and it's really sharp. We have it hooked up to our AppleTV and also use the Harmony 650 Remote. The stand is really well designed--we didn't like the stands from last year, and Sony did a great job creating one that is both sleek and sturdy. One last thing, it was straightforward to set up - took approximately an hour from unpacking the box, setting up the stand to going through the steps on the screen to connect the wifi, etc.

Wanted a tv for the living room. Originally looked at a 40'' smart tv.
Hesham, the BB Magnolia employee, was incredibly helpful. When I explained that I didn't want Chromecast as a primary platform, needed specific lighting bc of the glare in my home, and wanted to use a multi -system dvd player with the product, he suggested this model. While it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, it was a great buy.
Extremely easy for me to set up. Simply used my android phone for set up. Was even able to dispense w/the set's remote and use the cable remote for everything (tho I do need the tv remote to change platforms when using a dvd and for the smart hub.)
Also bought an HDMI cable that works well with 4K ultra tvs and the picture is amazing.
Would recommend to anyone who wants sharp picture, clear subtitles, better than movie quality viewing, and easy set up.
Oh. Just don't let your parents live with you. The tv is now in their bedroom! Apparently, it was so wonderful, "company" has to wait for me to buy another one!

I went in to the store ready to decide between Vizio M series or Samsung 6300. I previously had Vizio E series and the picture quality was a HUGE disappointment. Andre, the sales person, told me about this Sony and how it was new, and about the screen being superior and pretty much telling me it's the best tv for the money. They didn't have one set up but he seemed knowledgable so I bought it and took his word for it.
Got it set up in my place and I am blown away at how awesome the picture is! I didn't even have to change the calibration to make it look good out of the box! This tv is everything I was looking for. Sports, movies, tv, video games...all look great. And the remote can synchronize to your set top box for all in one. So happy. Thanks Sony!

Another Great Sony Bravia

Day 3. Superb picture. Excellent sound. Easy set up. Controller is more than adequate. Our former Bravia, a 40", lasted eight years. Very pleased with this replacement. Better picture than comparable Samsung. We're an Apple household, so Android features of no use to us, but we were interested in a top quality TV, not a game player, and that's what we got.

Exceptional entry level HDR TV packed with alot

Brand new 2016 model just released in June. Feature packed with the bells and whistles of all Sony HDR TV's with the exception of MotionFlow 240. Higher end models have a native 120 hz refresh rate that is increased to 240 via the on board computer. This model has a native 60 hz and its then increased to 240. Not a big deal to me because the other pluses this TV features out weigh this minor shortcoming. The HDR picture and 4K X1 display is a home run and then some. Compare for yourself, you will be impressed.

I originally purchased a Samsung SUHD TV and returned it because the bluetooth function was not working properly and it didn't come with a audio jack for a wireless bluetooth device. I returned the Samsung and bought this SONY. Haven't been sorry at all The picture is great and the 4K channels on Direct TV are awesome!

After the lengthy setup, this tv runs so smooth! It has brilliant picture, quick response time and sports looks great! I connected a subwoofer to this tv through the headphone jack, which I prefer the sound to the standard tv sound. Thin and sleek.

Excellent TV - Defective Hardware

I reviewed several tv's before purchasing this model, and after about 4 months the signal from the cable box or xbox would be lost. Unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in would usually fix it, but then it would happen again. More frequently as time went on. Sony customer service required me to call and do a bunch of troubleshooting and then wait to see if it was working properly. When it did not, I had to go through more troubleshooting before they eventually sent someone out to do the repair. The 3rd part repairmane shared that he has been fixing a ton of these tv's and they all have the sam hardware issues. Sony should have done a recall or just scheduled appointments instead of wasting my time. It is a great tv, but will waste your time.

Amazing TV!!!

This TV is a lot of bang for the buck! The picture quality is top notch & the speakers sound good as well! The movements are much smoother than my previous TV which was a 2008 Sony Bravia 37" which had been a great TV for the past 6 years that I was using it & the picture still looked good on it, but this new one is so much better in many ways. There are many more options in the menu so you can find the right settings you want no problem. I have this in my bedroom which is small, but is a great size for it! So make sure to put this TV on your shopping list. You won't be disappointed!

Decent 4K TV for its price, with beautiful exterior, but it's far from perfect. Hard to calibarte the picture to find good, natural combination of colors. The sound is very weak. Viewing angles are not great, when you are walking around the room with your eyes above the TV level, black looks more like gray. The remote control looks and feel cheap and somewhat poorly designed. The stand does not hold the TV in a perfectly vertical position, and is not very easy to assemble.

Great Picture but DUMB TV Keep Your Roku!
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
After reading reviews raving about this TV I bought one. I have owned it for two weeks and in one word it's OVERRATED. The picture quality and motion flow are fantastic. But is is far from a "SMART TV." Of the items on my wireless network, it is by far the dumbest. It began at setup. Google recognized it, asked if I wanted to configure TV for wireless network? Result? Fail. I had to perform manually. Then there is no way I can get it to recognize my laptop wirelessly so I can display pictures, videos, or play music from my laptop. They "see" each other, but no way to actually link up. One time I got the TV to display files. But it recognized photos as videos and could not do a photo show. Dumb. So I tried to pair the TV with laptop and cell phone via Bluetooth. They recognize each other. They give each other the correct code. But pushing "pair" results in "failed." No go there, either. And finally, it randomly sometimes cannot show any of its native streaming applications like Netflix or SlingTV, when the Roku device can. Dumb. Several times, the Sony would not launch Netflix or SlingTV but the Roku worked beautifully. Problem is, I have a 1080p Roku. If I can only stream thru my Roku, I might as well return this and get a 1080p TV!!
Again, this TV is not a slick device like a laptop. It's very finicky and picky with a wireless network, and getting it to stream may require the user to reboot their wireless router several times, even though all the other devices in the network are working just fine. If you buy this TV, and you don't have a Roku, I guarantee you'll spend a night watching broadcast TV even though you wanted to stream a film. And, to see photos, videos or listen to your audio content, you'll need a wired connection.

This is a beautiful television! It has a very thin frame around it, and it is awesome to look at a tv with a small and thin frame like this. It's like looking through a window. The colors are very vivid and sharp on this model as well. It upscales to 4K and is a smart tv and has everything you could want.

I purchased this TV to replace 8 yr old Samsung 46" 7000 Series which I gave to my daughter, I chose the Sony XBR 49X800D over Samsung 7000 series as the picture was Crisper. I think the remote function allowing you to control Direct TV receiver is great. I would recommend this TV
