I wanted a prime fixed 50 mm to go along with my 18-50 and 50-200 telephotos. This has turned into my most used lens. It has just enough telephoto but the speed and sharpness are what makes it best. f/1.8 is great for low light, fast moving subjects or portraits.

I am a beginner with my camera and just learning. But, this lens really makes you look like you know what you're doing. The pictures come out great, even if you're not so great. I can't imagine how awesome they'd look if you really knew what you were doing!

I purchased this lens during a 4 hour sale and I can't tell you how much it has impressed me. It is great for action shots and areas with low light. I highly recommend it.

Great lens overall with beautiful bokah. Will definitely be using this lens for professional portrait photography.

I purchased this lens for my girlfriends a6500 and it's pretty great! I use mostly Zeiss lenses with my A7rii and on my camera i got some great shots with this lens! In her a6500 is super nice! If Zeiss is out of your price range this is a great alternative!

Sony has taken the lead in mirrorless and going with the lead are their beautiful lenses and this one is no exception. If you need a 50mm, which covers small groupings and portraits, then this is your choice.

Besides this 50mm lens, I only have kit lenses. Wow, what a difference. I love the clarity, my portraits are so much clearer and better with this lens. I'm an amateur, just learning what a difference a better lens can make. This is a wonderful lens for the price!

This 50mm was the first lens I ever owned and used it for over a year. It was fantastic- Super sharp, good build quality, very reliable lens. Only downside is a lens filter doesn't fit while hood is on.

Fun lens it's gets the job done everyone thinks I'm a professional but I have everything on auto it's hilarious I'm getting paid $500 for each gig easy money with this lens

I love this lens! It's the perfect portrait lens and lets in so much light. It's the perfect lens to keep on your camera body if you don't want to mess with a zoom lens or smaller pancake lens. I debated purchasing this lens, but am happy that I did!

Since purchasing my a6000 four years ago I've used only the two kit lenses. I finally decided I wanted a better lens for portraits and this lens works amazing for the task. The auto focus works very well and is fast on both my a6000 as well as my a6600 that I recently upgraded to. I purchased the lens as an open box item and have no regrets doing so. It is in like new condition with the original box and accessories. If you're looking for a good portrait lens for your Sony mirror less camera this is a great option that doesn't break the bank!

This lens is as fast as described, it works great in low light also. The 50mm is just about what the human eye sees, so that gives you a good idea of what you will record. I do like the lens and certainly would recommend it to a friend.

This is just what I was looking for to take some portraits. I’m a beginner with photography, so I loved that this lens wasn’t too pricey. It takes great quality photos and has worked perfectly with my Sony A6000.

I have been using this prime lens since I bought it. It produces very sharp images and it's fast. Ive used it to shoot indoor basketball and night time flag football. It's not a zoom lens, but it produces nice photos when subject is near!!

This lens has been more than efficient, and definitely delivers specially for the price point

The quality of pictures from this lens is simply amazing. You have to have space (as in distance) between you what you are taking a picture of but the quality is awesome. I switch between this lens and other one so it works out perfectly.

I haven't used it a lot yet, but so far, I've had nice, sharp portraits using this lens on my a6000. It's a good choice for the move to a prime lens from the zoom lenses that come with the a6000 and it won't break the bank.

As many other reviews, I also give the 5 stars. I am a beginner, but can tell the difference with this lens versus the stock lens that came with my a6000. The quality is superb, and I love bokeh effect when the aperture is on a low value .
