Great Entertainment Streaming Tv

Streaming on this tv is quite snappy and quick. I also enjoy the living décor themes with ambient music, its actually very enjoyable. My tv has a hard time selecting between the audio every time the tv powers on but It usually corrects itself after turning random sound settings on and off then waiting 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it is something to do with eARC or just a conflict with a non Sony speaker but figured id mention it. Also worth noting using an Xbox series x the input delay is VERY noticeable but that seems to be a trend with larger TVs. The tv description says there are some native supports with the PlayStation but I don't have one to try, to see if its any better for input lag and response time. In my time I didn't experience any tearing or frame loss, and the graphics looked excellent due to the display. All in all I think this is a great tv with some quirks, but a solid tv all in all. It shines with streaming movies and shows and probably some games that don't require fast response times.

We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the smart Google TV interface that runs pretty smoothly, and there's a large library of apps available through the Google Play Store. The Living Decor app will turn your TV into an essential part of your living space. Easily have it display artwork, personal photos, screensaver themes and clock functions. We're also sorry you've been running into some difficulties.
That message is normal if you have an A/V receiver or soundbar connected via HDMI eARC/ARC. If you have the priority setting (Audio system prioritization) on, it should switch back to the BRAVIA Sync-compatible audio system when it powers up. Another work around would be powering on the audio system first, (insert delay), and then power on the Sony TV. The delay is normal as it allows the soundbar or A/V receiver to get booted up and ready for when the tv powers on.

Pretty great for a midrange TV and PC monitor

Sony is still the leader in quality IMHO. While the blacks aren't quite OLED beauty, they're certainly above many of the other midrange TV's that run a few hundred cheaper or are equivalent. With everything else in the house being ROKU based, I can say I'm not that fond of the Google TV interface, but it's more just the layout than anything. Otherwise the only other real nitpick would be the reflective screen, but again, you get what you pay for and it's far better than many. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a month or so, but so long as it lasts 5+ years I'd be satisfied. This is a Bedroom TV for me (replacing a 55'' TCL, backlight died at the 3 year mark), so it's a perfect midrange option for one of the less used TV's in the house. Also rocks pretty hard as a 4k PC monitor thanks to the low latency. Hope this helps.

We had a rear project Sony that had a class action lawsuit repair for the a purple tint that showed up. We had another LCD in 2017 that has software refresh issues. We bought the kd55x85k on sale at Best Buy. Great picture and nice TV but shortly into the purchase while watching two tiny lines appeared and the picture went out. Manufacturer basically says we damaged it. We’ve has the tv for less than 4 months and no one touches the thing and we have a camera on that room for security, that captures everything. Be sure that you’re ready to replace this on a whim, if you get a bad one for some reason. We won’t buy another. We have additional warranty with TotalCare, however it seems like no one is willing to stand behind the product.

We decided to go with a larger 55''. We tried two different sets neither picture quality was what we expected.Our friends have a sony, there was no comparison in picture crispness, fantastic natural vivid colors to the other sets we had tried, so of course Sony was the way to go, even though it was $200 more then we anticipated, it was well worth it. No adjustments needed just plug in and it's ready to go. Best Buy did above and beyond great service to make sure we were satisfied . will highly recommend

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned the hisense u8g and h9g and i gotta say i love this tv more, it doesn't have local dimming but i gotta say at least for me i don't care the picture quality is amazing the colors are vibrant and natural and the blacks are deep and uniform thanks to the VA panel, The connection process with the PS5 is also very quick and seamless as well, now without the local dimming the blacks in some scenes might look a little grayish or washed out but I honestly don't mind because although TVs with local dimming have better black levels there’s a lot of blooming and it’s very much an eye soar for me.

Not Bad At All

I mainly use it for gaming and streaming. It works great with my PS5 but it sometimes loses the signal from my Xbox Series X and I have to shut it off and restart it (I am not sure exactly why this happens); other that i haven't any major issues so far. I bougth for about $830 to replace a $2,100 55inch Samsung QN95B which I had for less than a year and it went out on me. Hopefully this last longer. The sound is pretty decent but I use the soundbar and sub woofer i bought for my Samsung TV and it works better with this Sony TV than it did with my Samsung that it was design for. If your looking to game but not trying to break the bank then this TV is a pretty good choice.

It doesn’t have number buttons to change channels. It only has up down button. It’s a problem with cable channels. Also remote is light and tinky.

As for the lack of numeric pad, there is a number button on the remote (123 (Control menu) button - upper part) that will make a number pad appear on your television when needed for an easier access.
