Absolutely in love with this TV. The picture quality is top notch. It's bright, even in a bright room and the colors really pop. In terms of the interface, Android TV is incredibly slick and there's been several updates available already to improve the experience. This is your only pathway to 4K content and it's definitely sparse. That said even "standard" 1080P content looks amazing on this TV.

I've purchased several Sony TVs in the past but I wanted to explore all my options this time, especially since I was going into the realm of 4K. After heavily researching all the top brands, I finally went to the store and stared at each one for hours. In the end I chose the 65x850c for a few reasons. 1. Best 4K up scaling. With limited 4K content out right now, this feature really makes a difference. I would say the Samsung is right up there with Sony, but the other brands didn't cut it. You can easily see the difference. 2. Contrast and picture management. This is one feature I've always appreciated about Sony. They give you plenty of manual setting options. You can tweak the picture exactly the way you want, to fit your style. 3. Local Dimming. Each brand calls this something a little different, but basically it means the LEDs light up the whole screen. So when certain areas of the screen need to go dark, the tv can turn off that section. This means better blacks. Pro tip: this is not configured correctly out of the box, so don't worry when your blacks look grey at the beginning. Tweak your black point and your contrast and you should be good. Overall, this model has the best picture quality for the price. I do think it's better then the equivalent Samsung model, but you won't notice if you don't care enough. Note: local dimming is only a feature on the 65x850c. It's not on the 55x850c.

Great product. Picture and features are amazing. My 7yo daughter has mastered the extra little remote. Staff was helpful and courteous. I could not be more pleased with all aspects of purchase and quality of tv. This tv is far superior to all other brands I've purchased. You get what you pay for and Sony delivers.

The pic is very good set up is easy ... just plugged it in hooked up the hdmi and I was good. However, you have to read the instruction book ... if you drop the remote or hit a button by mistake you are screwed . up comes the blue screen of death ... or no pic but have sound and you go back to main screen if you can get there and hit watch tv and nothing happens ..... good luck !!!

Best 65" Tv relative price quality and size

I wanted a 65" Tv period. And I was attracted to the lower priced Samsungs at first. I went Sony for the better picture quality and that it is more of a future proof TV. Here why: For example I bought this TV in Decemeber 2015 and since then Sony has already upgraded the firmware to support 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4. Best Buy stills has it labeled at 30hz, but its 60hz now! (Look up firmware update PKG2.463.0010NAB) This is possible because the chips in the 850C are the same as the 2016 900 series TVs. And a 900 series 65" is very expensive, more than $2,000. Im not paying $4000 for a tv. Hence I went with the 850C and am very happy.

It took me a while to look at all the different 4k tv's and decide which one to get...I finally decided on the Sony....it has a very good picture...pretty easy to use once you get the remote control figured out...it is very sensitive to the touch....also it seems to be made for direct tv satellite service if you have that too....so far, I'm very happy with it!

I got this TV after a few days of internal discussion. It was on sale when I got it, but the picture has been great so far, and I have had people over and they are amazed by the picture. I decided I would drop the money on the more expensive TV and judging by the people saying they bought the 55" and it was too small, I went 65" and feel it was just right for what I needed. This is a person who still has a original flat screen TV, circa 2003, with the tube in back. Wish that one would stop working already. However, pleased with my purchase, trying to understand the features in the TV itself. Connects easily to the wifi.

Okay first off buying a tv is as impulsive as buying a car. The test drive is great but once you take it off the lot/store you hope it doesn't depreciate. Well in this case my 1997 geo prizm is worth more than this tv right now. Bought it on saturday, turned it on this morning and a beautiful red line from top to bottom glares at me saying I have a defective set. The people at best buy offerred a time to come pick it up and deliver a new one from the hours of 7am to 7pm thanks that's helpful. I get it though. They have a lot of deliveries have to be vague... we'll be there sometime today... The good. Awesome tv picture quality minus the giant red blood vessel of led lights. Very user friendly. I have a ps4 was looking forward to using it on there and all of the apps. The bad. The tv stand was a bit confusing to get on and set up and that massive 65 inch tv was bulky and heavy and my wife and i were being o so cautious with 2700 dollars of tv in our hands. But hey its a Sixty. Five. Inch TV. The thing dominated the living room. And the Ugly. Since I work during the week and can't wait for them the deliver a new one (I think I'm going to downgrade something telling me that buying a tv worth more than you car is probably a bad idea) I have a lug this beast back to best buy. My own fault I guess but I really don't feel like wasting my saturday waiting for delivery to show up when they are in my area. Overall great tv, features and unexplored possiblities so I wish I could give it more stars but I can't get past I got a defective one. Recommend that you finance it. And the tv too just hope there aren't too many out there like mine.

I love the tv picture is clear had a couple issues with the software but after calling don't have me to tips to reset made it all better after paying almost 2000$ for this model I was very disappointed to see no 3D glasses to go with tv only reason I chose this model is because of 3D so at 50$ per glasses that's another $200 for 4 pairs dang shame Best Buy did price match for me so all good tv is great other than that

Last tv I bought was a 46" 8 series Samsung back in 2008 paid 2500 for it. So buying this tv that has lots more features and quality brand was easy and paid much less for it now. If your tech person you will like it. This is the go to TV for Sony right now. The 900 had to many neg reviews so I went with 850. Only been 2 months but I love it.

You really do get what you pay for.... I spent about three weeks reading reviews on multiple 4K TVs online and visited my local Best Buy and couple of other electronics stores to view different models before purchasing this TV. It's been over two months and I am super happy with the decision I made. Both the picture quality, and the system is the best I experienced.... I am extremely impressed not only with the image processor, but also the sound quality. After making few adjustments, I really don't see a need for a sound bar.

this is a great TV for the price. the features are great and the picture is great as well. the factory setting does produce a little soap opera effect, but it was extremely easy to get rid of it in custom settings. The Film or Cinemotion (depending on software update) Picture Setting is located in the Picture Setting Adjustments menu, under Advanced Settings, under Clarity. The setting combined with the Motionflow setting has an impact on whether your picture is over-clarified by eliminating too much natural background blur. This creates the dreaded “Soap Opera Effect”. It's easy to prevent on the X850C. All you have to do is keep the Motionflow Smoothness setting at level 3 and Clearness setting at level 2 and tune the Film/Cinemotion setting to Off or Low. The feature only provides frame compensation to remove judder at the top two settings of Medium and High. All of that said, it's a great TV once adjusted the right way.

Just sitting 7 feet away pic looks great ( satellite tv), easy hook up, using older wall mount, instructions was easy, had blue ray player, sattelite box, and sound bar hook up, had two HD cables and digital optical hookup, connected to wifi, had updated software, and done, very simple. Voice search, goes right from sattelite tv to Internet, and what a picture when I asked for 4K videos, incredible. Love this TV

This TV was very easy to set up. I am new to streaming and the 'mouse' like remote is really nice. 1080p streams come in great, however anything that is not true 1080p does not look that great. I have watched the 4k on the limited amount of content that is available and it is absolutely amazing. I am very glad that I purchased this TV.

First off this is a great tv. Colors look great. Football looks awesome. Even the tv speakers sound great. But... Viewing angles do wash out the great picture. And unfortunately my first set the 3D did not work. Horrible customer service from Sony. So I returned tv to BB and got the same one. 3D works on this. Still very happy with tv.

looks great, sounds great, easy to use. Three small issues tho, instructions are a little vague has very little info about features. The screw holes on the back for wall mounting seem kinda small for the size of the unit, but so far its hanging up there fine and seems sturdy. Also you have to supply your own screws if your mounting bracket didn't come with the proper size. Finally the power cord isn't nearly long enough to reach my power strip while hanging on the wall, have to use an extension cord. if you can get around that, its a nice tv.

Perfect TV for my needs. Picture quality is great and just the right size for our family room. We have owned Sony TVs previously and even though they aren't the least expensive, I feel they are worth the extra money to get a better quality, more reliable product. Picture is clear, color and light are great. No issues to report.

I use various 4K TVs on a daily basis and I think I've had enough time to collect my thoughts well enough for a review. The 65" X850C is a huge improvement over last year's offering in the X850B model. The upscaling has fewer digital noise issues and the android TV operating system is head and shoulders above not only the "B" model from last year, but Samsung's new Tizen TV system. I will say there are a few issues. First, the TV does not come with 3D glasses. I wasn't particularly looking forward to 3D movies, but it would be nice for my new 3D TV to come with them. The second is the pixel aspect ratio. For some odd reason it's set to "normal" out of the box which in fact isn't normal at all, it's zoomed in slightly. I had to go through each input and change each setting individually to +1 or "full pixel" as it seems to be called sometimes. The TV doesn't give you the option to change that while using apps, and I'm unsure what the setting is when I'm using apps anyway. Still, this TV is a win for Sony. I'm giving it 5 stars not because it's perfect, but because it's better than any other 4K in the price range by far.

Once I got my XBox One and Directv hooked up, I'ver realized how much I love this TV. The picture quality is phenomenal. There isn't blur during fast motion sporting events or movies. Video games look amazing on this TV. Hooked up to my new speakers, this thing is the ultimate tv for a great in-home theater experience.

The picture quality is excellent. This is the second flat panel television I have purchased by Sony and this one definitely did not disappoint. I had it professionally mounted by an entertainment company and found the television was very easy to navigate. No problems so far. I would highly recommend this television.
