This Sony A8F oled tv is wonderful. The color is nice and vibrant. Black are incredible but the real piece of work that Sony did a phenomenal job on was the texture. Any 4K movie with HDR I played (Netflix and 4K Disc), showed so much depth of color and real texture, it’s crazy. The X1 extreme processor is the best I have ever seen. Glad I got rid of my LG oled for this one. Best decision I have ever made.

Love this TV and can't say enough about the phenomenal image. Yes sony sw is not the best out there but it is plenty easy to navigate. Tons of features but works great out of the box. My only complaint is that screen glare because i have 5 large windows directly across from it. Even the sound is fantastic but not exactly as good as my 5.1 system. Wifi is also great and has strong signal pickup for wifi streaming.

Hi, JTK1, Good to know that you love the image of this TV. The A8F 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme includes powerful real-time image processing for ultra-detailed pictures. With 4K X-Reality PRO, every image is upscaled closer to true 4K quality for remarkable clarity.Thank you for choosing Sony! Jay Sony_US

One of the best purchases I've made, the color and blacks are perfect and the upscaling is really good Even watching the news is a pleasure and that's with an over the air antenna . All the streaming platforms are present so no need for any other streaming device . The sound is good as well you dont really need a sound bar or any thing to make for a really clean setup if you're the minimalist type All in all it's a great display

The television world USED to be full of trade off’s. In the past we would have to sacrifice black level for illumination, over saturation trades for vivid color. There would be heat problems, off angle viewing problem, or lag issues. I’m a gamer and an avid movie collector and I care about reference quality and smooth responsiveness with no compromise. THIS OLED is the closest I’ve seen to a perfect TV. The color, clarity, contrast, black level, response rate, design, viewing distance and angle, build quality and more are outstanding. No banding, light blooming and the TV has sufficient brightness for me. I wish the input lag was perfect, but, game mode makes the tv responsive enough for street fighter sessions. The remote could use an overhaul, it’s not up to par with tv quality. The sound and sound output options are good, though I have a surround sound I use. I think android tv isn’t the best nor worst tv OS out there, but there are good enough connectivity options and function to make it workable and an ok fit

Every time I watch something on this TV, there are often times when I am just amazed at the picture quality - so much that I can't help but say "wow" out loud. I previously owned a 52" 1080p plasma. It had a beautiful picture that no LED/LCD TV could beat in my opinion. So it was quite a long time before I replaced it. Finally when the OLEDs became more affordable, I decided to go for it. I'm glad I did. Not only is the 4k content stunning on this TV, but HD content looks almost the same - in fact the up-scaling processing on this TV is so good, I'm hard-pressed to tell the difference at times (even at 6' away). And with standard def content, it really does a great job of extrapolating out to this huge panel of 8+ million pixels. Motion processing is awesome as well (eliminates stuttering effect often seen on OLED displays). There are moderate settings that smooth things out, without adding too much "soap opera effect". Now I should point out that I am sitting 6.5' away from this 65" TV. In order to get the full effect of 4k UHD, you need to sit closer than you otherwise might with a 1080p. Here is an excellent article that explains it: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship. I knocked off half a star in the title because the Android OS on this TV can be sluggish to respond. For instance while watching a program it sometimes takes 5 or more seconds after pressing menu button for the menu to pop up! This performance problem can be mitigated if you are willing to dive deep into the settings, disabling all the features you don't want/need, and if you are really gutsy, putting the TV into developer mode and limiting the foreground processes (there are youtube videos about how to do this). I know that soon Sony will be coming out with an update to Android 8 (Oreo), so I'm hoping some of these problems will be eliminated. The on-board Netflix app is great - awesome user interface and able to stream 4k UHD with Dolby Atmos. The Amazon prime app is much worse - with bugs (like very jerky motion at times), and bad UI design. It's even worse than their Roku offering. I'm super disappointed in Amazon for putting out such crappy software with all they money they must have. But this is no reflection on Sony. In the end, this TV is well worth getting for the picture alone! I think in general you won't be disappointed.

I have Panasonics last two Plasmas and they are awesome... but this Sony A8F OLED is "UNBELIVEABLE" I am so impressed with the 'DEEP BLACKS & PURE WHITE" and awesome color and picture quality that I can't wait to turn it on!!! Trust me, it is very impressive. Sony hit it out of the ball park this time. Worth every penny!! I want to thank Steve Habhab at the Southfield, MI. store for recommending this to me...….

Been buying Sony’s for years. decided to go all in and gets the Sony OLED after shopping around. The picture as expected is amazing with try blacks and viewing from even very sharp angles. Sitting almost next to TV but what really blew me away was the sound quality of the integrated speakers. No need for sound bar or sound system. Also really like some of the thoughtful design elements like the cord management. The remote is a old schools and works well for TV but is awkward when using it as universal remote for set top box. You need to use menus that you need to drill down fairly deep to get up menus for recordings etc. with my other TVs I have harmony remotes but using them would lose the voice assistant.

We went in to buy the standard LED screen model, and fell in love with the picture on the new OLED. We decided we only buy TVs once every several years so we went ahead and spent the extra $ for the newer OLED. We are so happy with the picture. We have the TV in the living room with fairly large windows in the back of the room, but there is no issue with brightness. Absolutely stunning.

This TV has absolutely beautiful color and contrast. The sound is good - need to add surround sound or sound bar for theater quality. The 4K adds such depth that it is almost 3D. Love it!

    Disappointment

I've always owned sony TVs. 10 years ago I tried out a Samsung which I returned and swapped out for yet another sony which I still have to this day. I was in the market for an upgrade given that my current tv is about 8years old and I came across this OLED. After sizing this up against other LED TVs their was no doubt I had to have this. Unfortunately as soon as I turned it on I was extremely disappointed. There's a huge dark line vertically on the right side of the screen along with another faint thin vertical line on the left side of the screen. I had high hopes considering I've always had great products from sony over the years but at nearly $4,000 dollars this tv should be nothing but flawless. I'm giving it 2 stars because the picture is incredible when your watching tv or a movie but certain screens your plagued with this horrendous streak. Needless to say this is going right back at my earliest convenience.

The visuals on this TV is outstanding. The blacks are jet black and the colors pop. The upscaling from older content is awesome. I would say the only downside it make sure you are watching it in a dark room. when there is light bleed it is a little hard to see.

This Sony A8F OLED TV is fantastic. It has a really fast refresh rate, extremely dark blacks, vibrant bright color, and overall looks great. I watch a lot of movies and play Xbox One X, and this television makes both activities more enjoyable. The sound is surprisingtly good, and the smart apps open quickly and respond crisply. The last TV I owned has sluggish smart apps. The remote is functional, and I love the microphone for Google assistant. Very handy when looking up movies, etc. So far this is the best television that I've owned.

I was unaware human eyes could gaze upon something so beautiful. Flawless picture wrapped in an understated, minamalist design. I love Android TV to boot. My only gripe is the three second delay in detecting ARC (audio out to reciever) every time the TV turns on. Nevermind that though. I would purchase this TV again in a heartbeat!

I had my delivery scheduled so I could watch the Masters Saturday and Sunday but the delivery was late so I had to settle for just Sunday. When I set it up, I used the configuration settings in rtings.com for the A1E. The colors watching the Master were amazing, vivid and deep. The color of the wood the Butler Cabin were natural and you could see the grain of the wood. Also you really could get a perspective how much slopes there are at Augusta National. My first three flat screen TV's were Plasma screens and the colors reminded me of the Plasma TV but with details the Plasma would not pickup. The next test is to watch The Last Jedi in Ultra HD Blu-ray.

I recently upgraded my living room TV from a VIZIO, and compared to the QLED I have in my bedroom, this is the best TV I have ever owned (I update every 6 months). The price vs. performance makes this the greatest value and best TV available. You don’t lose much by not getting the A9F. I would honestly recommend this TV to everyone. It’s very easy to use, and looks great in any room. Everyone should own this TV.

Fantastic picture for the most part. The only exception is when something is playing on a Dolby Vision feed, such as from Netflix. The picture is very dark and I have to turn some settings up to max for it to be even somewhat watchable. Amazon Prime Video gives you the option of changing to a different version of a movie if you wish but Netflix does not. If they have it available in Dolby Vision that is the only version you get. I spent about an hour on the phone with a Sony technician and they even remotely accessed my TV to make sure all settings were correct and it was working properly. Everything was right, it was just the limitations of the TV. The tech said Sony would be issuing a firmware update in January to improve the Dolby Vision picture and to update the software to the latest version of Android. It hasn't happened as of 8:33 AM on the 12th.

This is an awesome tv beautiful picture easy to set up sound isn’t to bad loud enough but obviously a decent sound bar would be preferred and is also easy to set up. When watching 4K movies they are almost three demential amazing so rich are the colors you can see the pores on the actor’s faces. Live sports is phenomenal. You can see the paint puff up when a ball or foot touches the line just awesome. The blacks are deep and colors are rich

Took back 2 TVs before deciding to go with an oled and man let me tell you, this is by far the best TV I’ve ever owned. Perfect picture quality for movies and gaming. The sharpness, black levels, and sound is perfect. Although consumers don’t suggest gaming on an Oled because of burn-ins, I haven’t had an issue. I suggest don’t keep the game paused for a long periods at a time but other then that this tv is a beast. Definitly worth the value.

The picture on this TV is impressive and the best we have ever bought. We ditched the second Samsung in a row for developing discernible problems with the picture. Sony is reliably excellent, and worth the price. We compared it to the LG, which is cheaper, and the sales people tend to push, but we believe the Sony is overall a better product and will last longer. We are very happy with our purchase.
