Audio on 7.1 movies includes noise like radio static according to the volume of playback(ex. 4K disc of ExMachina, which has a droning electronic soundtrack, has static during playback of soundtrack that goes with the volume. Compact discs and 5.1 movies play great. I'm unable to adjust that static out and have had to rewire sound bar from Ultra HD player to the TV where the sound is clear but lower quality.

For a Soundbar, you can not go wrong with this one!!! This replaced my surround sound system only for the fact that in my new place I could not hook up the traditional system because of wiring and space. I was really missing that surround sound feel, so read some reviews, went into the store and narrowed my search between this Sony and the Bose system. What sold me on this was the sound and the 4K ability. After having this in my house for over 2 months it still sounds great and it fills up the room perfectly. Only wish that Sony would add wireless speakers that would work with this soundbar to deliver "side speaker" sound, it works with music but not with TV sound...not that you need it, just think it would be a great little add on.

good quality and easy to hook up. for the price it should have more muscle. it is adequate but nothing special. all things considered it should be a couple hundred dollars less expensive. other brands in this price range deliver a better overall experience.

Perfect choice for our space. Sound is awesome. Love playing music via the bluetooth app.

This is a beautiful well-made soundbar. Unfortunately, the system is not fully compatible(to my surprise) with my Sony Bravia 4K 2015 TV! The bar does dish-out great audio.

The sound is amazing! I turn the TV audio down all the way and only use the subwoofer.

In the initial start up, this soundbar and subwoofer were awesome. Played a lot of movies and games. Unfortunately, that only lasted about a month and few days. We can now hear static throughout the soundbar when playing movies notice it more when action sequences is no longer taking part in the film and also during dialogue. Thinking one of the speakers inside is no longer working. Now it's at geek squad hands. If not fixed I'm just gonna go with a wired home theater for same price but with more power. For the price it goes for was hoping this would be my future sound system for at least 5 years but with this issue this is no longer the case.

Sony's Best Soundbar to date. Clean sounding. I wish the Sub is stronger.

Paired with my Sony TV, this soundbar pushes amazing sound quality from a small package. I especially enjoy it for music. For movies, it wont approach a good surround system, but for me its compact size is a worthy tradeoff.

I purchased this when I bought my new TV. It has great sound and sports features for football. I would give it five stars, but I 60% of the time I have to select the input again. Unfortunately it defaults to something I rarely use. I have not yet called Sony for support and I would recommend this speaker set despite this issue.

I easily connected the sound bar to my new Sony ultra HD TV. I am pleased with the results. However, I find that, for use with DirecTV Genie controller, it is better to connect my Blue Ray player to the TV rather than to the sound bar and to connect the sound bar to the TV only. Then I set up the Genie controller to tie-in with the TV and let it control the volume via the TV. When I set up the Genie controller to tie-in with the sound bar and the TV, then the sound bar would sometimes get mixed up on whether it was being controlled by the TV or the Blue Ray player or a USB port. So, I opted for simply connecting the TV to the sound bar and nothing else and having the Genie controller control the TV and nothing else.

This was recommended in store by the "Sony Guru". Completely love it! Was so easy to connect & when we turn on/off the TV it turns the sound bar power on/off. Great deal buying this bundled with our new TV.

Barely need to turn up the volume to get great sound...

The salesman at the store sent me home with this speaker and two Sony single speakers to make a surround system. After a day or two of frustrating failure to set up the surround system and a little research I found out that this bar did not support rear surround at all which makes no sense since it is supposed to be the new top of the line soundbar for Sony. It had a nice sound but I wanted full surround. I returned it and I got a Sonos soundbar, subwoofer and two Sonos 1 speakers, and while it was much pricier, I am much happier with the full surround experience of the Sonos speakers which are excellent. While I was quite annoyed about the poor advice I got from the first salesman, I will say that they made the exchange process quite easy. So no grudges since I am sure I will be happier with the Sonos in the long run. My advice, pay the extra money at get the Sonos.

Sound gets better as music gets loader. Surprised by surround sound feel while watching movies. Play with sound modes to find what sounds best to you. I love that the sound bar comes on and can be controlled with tv or cable remote, finally surround sound and tv with one remote.

The timing was right for the price and sound quality was very good. However, the code would not sync up to my DTV remote and the install was not made easy. Wish they would create a bracket to attach to so you can make adjustments to make level, or provide a template for install.

Great recommendation from the very knowledgeable blue shirt. I just would have liked a tad more power.
