Customers are impressed with the Alpha a6000's camera quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its lightweight design. Many also appreciate the camera's features and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance and autofocus could be more reliable. The telephoto lens's autofocus functionality has also received some criticism.

We couldn't be happier with this camera. It's lightweight and very easy to use. The settings are designed to help you take the best pic possible in any situation and they are not over complicated. The shutter speed is lightening fast so you don't miss a pic. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Bought this camera for my in house photographer. He grew up with his own darkroom, loves his cameras. Loves this camera. So many options might be a bit overwhelming for a newbie but for those who love to shoot this is a winner. If you have never seen the difference between a photo taken with this camera and your iphone, you will be surprised. The photos taken with this camera are breathtaking. Picture taking is fun again.

I love photography and this camera has been the perfect companion. It's light in weight and very user friendly. The photographs I capture come out fantastic. For the cost this is probably the Best Buy in my opinion. I hope to move up to the newer models of Sony Alpha soon.

Great Features, easy to use. Battery does not last as expected. I may need to buy an extra one. Also it doesn't come with a wall charger.

This camera is very easy to use, light, and takes remarkable pictures. I am an average mom and I can easily use this camera for action shots, landscape scenes and everything in between. It also has wifi and easily transfers photos so you can share! I highly recommend it.

This is my first time use a mirrorless camera, and so far I am not disappointed. It gives me a good quality of picture and user friendly camera. Perfect for a beginner I would say.

Very light and easy to carry around. Does everything i need it to do and takes amazing shots. The settings are simple enough for a beginner to take high quality pictures, but also has options for more advance shots for more experienced photographers

I recently sold my Canon 40D set up, lenses and all, in search of something smaller and lighter. The Sony A6000 had many of the features I wanted: Lightweight, compact, generally fast shutter speed. The mirrorless feature was nice to see how a shot was going to turn out before taking it (though some of the mystery and magic of photography was lost there, too). I ended up returning it in, going instead with the Nikon D5500. Downside to Sony? Lenses are expensive and not as large a variety, it can fail to shoot when it thinks the photo isn't what I want and it performed poorly in low light settings. Also, the screen menus were cumbersome and not having a touchscreen made it even more difficult to navigate. Thus the D5500. A little bigger but much more user friendly. Sony, not a bad camera, just not right for me.

Have been a Nikon fan forever, and was introduced to the Sony by Sam. After discussing the functions and capabilities of the camera, thought we'd give it a try. Have been very pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use, the variety of functions, and quality of pictures taken!

I used to only have point and shoot cameras. I did my research and decided to go with the Sony A6000. After purchasing, I learned how to use the shutter speeds, ISO and aperture for making fantastic pictures. I love the rapid fire 11 frames per second. I have purchased prime lenses and learned how to increase the bokeh in my portraits (even though my iPhone does it). The ability to charge via USB is amazing. The battery life is a little short, but hey they sell extra so buy one if you need it. I have no regrets, especially because I got an amazing deal on an open box in excellent condition. I prefer the small body of the camera to a big bulky DSL-R. And the autofocus is amazing. One of the awesome things is the electronic view finder makes it so I can see the way my shot will look, so I can make real time changes before snapping a pic. I'll get a DSL-R later, or maybe just be happy with what I have.

I just parted ways with my Canon T2i which was my main camera for over 10 years. A friend of mine who used to own a camera store for years recommended the Sony Alpha a6000. I was skeptical of how well he said the camera performs. Well he was right. The camera is so light and pretty easy to use once you spend a little time with it. The images are gorgeous, the black and white mode is outstanding. The video is close to professional quality. The low light sensors are outstanding. You do not really even need a flash. I have shot many bands, weddings and other events and this is the camera to own. You do need to study the manual a bit. . Just great

This thing is small but it packs a punch. I tried out the displays in the store and the autofocus was way faster than the canon or nikon. After getting it home, I found the controls for manually adjusting ISO, F/, and shutter speed easy to find and use and it felt very natural. The lenses are easy to swap out and they come with lens caps. A few criticisms though, the included neck strap uses metal buckles, so if you are video recording and you move the camera even slightly, the buckles rattle the entire camera and its really loud in the video. The smaller lens is awkward if you are trying to manual focus, as it only has 1 ring on it, if you want to change the zoom, you need to push the little knob on the side, and it's in an awkward place. The battery life also feels a little short, around 3-4 hours of video, so bring an extra battery to sports and concerts.

No complaints about the quality or value of this camera. I love its size & weight, which are less than standard DSLR's. It has a ton of features; it takes great pics; and I love the aesthetic of the camera itself. Only 2 small issues: 1) the telefoto lens is a little less powerful than others (a tradeoff for its smaller size) & 2) it takes some time to learn how to use it if you aren't tech savvy.

Having owned a Sony A230 digital camera, then having to buy a new one, this one is easier to use, has more functions and much smaller. I loved my A230 but have grown to like this one just as much. Downloaded pictures to my laptop and found a clear crisp picture.

This is an excellent camera for those looking to step into the more advanced world of photography, but don't want to spend thousands of dollars on gear. I was looking for a more advanced camera than my cell phone/point n shoot and this Sony is the best bang for your buck for getting into more advanced photography. It takes beautiful pictures. Has lots of modes, features, and good quality. Having two good lenses right off the bat gets you started with most shooting situations until you your skills advance and your needs increase. I'm blown away by the shots I've been able to take so far. The camera being mirrorless is much smaller than DSLR, yet similar output in quality. Not quite pocketable, but definitely less cumbersome to hold and carry. I recommend this whole-heartedly to anyone from a beginner to even advanced photographers. An excellent camera!!
