Moved up from the a6000. Faster auto focus, brighter viewfinder, nice rugged feel. Happy with my decision, great for all users, beginners and advanced.

This camera was a great starter camera. It did have some over heating issues. Eventually upgraded to the 6500

Was in desperate need of the mic input to make better quality videos, but didn't need the touch focus of the a6500. With this camera being on sale, I traded-in my a6000 and saved a couple of hundred bucks. This is already an amazing camera, at the core. Mic input took it up a notch.

This camera has many advanced features and is possibly the top APS-c sensor mirrorless camera ILC now on the market! Unless you are using only the Auto setting you have better be ready to spend some study and practice time with the a6300. If you do, it can be rewarding!

I upgraded from an A6000 and have been using this one in Ireland all this week. Frankly, one of the best features is the leveling bars in the viewfinder. Great idea. I've been taking some great panorama shots that I want to get printed.

This camera is an amazing value. 4k, 1080p at 120P for amazing slow mo, lots of advanced features. Some have complained about overheating but mine goes 25 min on 4k so thatbis perfectly acceptable for a small format camera like this.

Had the a6000. This camera's best feature over the older model is the built in leveler. It the simplest feature but when you use it it's pretty awesome.

I upgraded from the a6000 to the a6300. The a6300 is a little heftier feel. I really like the Magnesium body. Sony added the audio input, but has built in stereo which is superior to the a6000. You have visual of both audio channels on the LCD screen and the sound is what you expect coming from Sony. There are a few differences in the menu, which I have yet to explore. I put my F/4 15-108 Sony G-Lens on the camera and it was a very snug fit. I started with simple photos and found almost no difference in focus between the a6000 vs 6300. They both focus very well. The huge difference is the video. You can shoot up to 4K: Here are the settings: 60p 50M Super 35MM 30p 50M Super 35mm 24p 50M Super 35mm 120P 100M 120p 50M You need a U 3 card can write at least 90MB/s in order to shoot 4K This camera shoots 1080 amazingly good. Much, much better than a6000. I did some test shots and wow. As for photos, did not see a huge difference in picture quality. But for video this camera is what I needed and will be testing with a Rhodes boom microphone shortly. Overall, if you are looking to do more video with a DSLR, then this is the camera for you. If photos are all you will be taking, take your time to upgrade. No big difference I can see in the photos, expect that maybe this camera might focus a little quicker than the a6000.
