I love the convenience of wireless. The system looks great in my home theater. The overall sound quality watching movies is decent. The “phantom” center channel just doesnt cut it for me.
We are so pleased to hear that you love the convenience of wireless and that the HT-A9M2 system looks great in your home theater. It's rewarding to know that you are happy with the overall sound quality for movies.
We also understand your comments about the "phantom" center channel. We designed this system to create a wide and immersive soundstage, but we appreciate your honest opinion about the dialogue clarity. Your feedback is valuable, and we will be sure to share it with our product development team.
Thank you again for choosing Sony and for sharing your experience.

Coming from the previous HT A9 system in which I constantly had issues with sound drop outs, they have greatly improved. Occassionally i will still get a quick dropout but its only happened a couple of times. The sound quality is absolutely incredible.
We're excited to hear that the HTA9M2 has greatly improved your experience. We apologize for the sound dropouts you experienced with the previous HTA9 and appreciate your feedback. It's wonderful to know you find the sound quality absolutely incredible!

Bravia Quad

The Sony Bravia Theatre Quad is widely regarded as a game-changing product that blurs the line between a soundbar and a traditional home theater system. It's a "soundbar killer" for its superior ability to create an immersive, multi-dimensional sound field. However, its high price and significant lack of bass without a separate subwoofer are major considerations. It's an excellent choice for someone who values a minimalist, wireless setup and is willing to pay a premium for unparalleled spatial audio performance, but for whom a subwoofer purchase is a non-negotiable part of the total cost.
Thank you for the incredibly detailed and insightful 5-star review! We're thrilled that you see the BRAVIA Theatre Quad as a game-changer and appreciate its ability to create such an immersive, multi-dimensional sound experience.
Your feedback on its "soundbar killer" performance is fantastic to hear, and we agree that it’s an excellent choice for those who value a clean, wireless setup and premium spatial audio. We also appreciate your comments regarding the bass—it's valuable input that helps us understand how our customers are using the product and what they need to get the most out of their system.
Thank you for choosing Sony, and for recognizing the unique value of the BRAVIA Theatre Quad.
Best regards, Dominick

If you want a simple to setup sound system, this is a great choice.
It is on the expensive side but is worth it if you can take advantage of the optimum setup. ie wide separation distance of the speakers and space behind the couch to place all the speakers approx at the same height
Movies sounds are great, but if you are buying this for mostly music it won't be a good value
you do need an extra BASS setup though and there are only 2 choices available
Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the BRAVIA Theater Quad. We're glad that you had an easy time setting it up. To full enjoy the capabilities of the system, you may want to consider adding a optional wireless subwoofer (SA-SW3 or SA-SW5). Thank you for choosing Sony!

I know the title of the review is weird but this system sounds so good with a Bravia 9 tv and the center channel sync that it has me considering and returning for a full ES receiver and speakers. My knit issue is space which is why I bought this in the first place. It has rekindled my love for home theater sound. It produces jaw dropping sound for the size of the speakers and is a huge upgrade from my Sony HT-7000 atmos sound bar. It is a little on the expensive side and only has 1 hdmi input but other than that you won’t do better with small wireless speakers.

I’ve owned top of the line soundbars from Sony and Samsung and this outperforms them all. The sound field is amazing compared to a soundbar. Absolutely love the Bravia theater quad. Paired with a Bravia 9, whether you utilize the acoustic center sync capability or not, the center channel sound is amazing.
That is incredible feedback! We are thrilled to hear you find the BRAVIA Theater Quad's sound field and performance, especially when paired with your BRAVIA 9, so impressive. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks for choosing Sony.

I bought this about three weeks ago, and honestly i love it. This is by far the best home theater surround sound that I have ever bought.! I enjoy it every day after work, I come home looking forward to enjoy it. Sony has always been my favorite, they went above and beyond with this one however.! The sound quality is crystal clear and sounds amazing when paired up with a Sony TV. I created a home theater at home thanks to Sony and Best Buy.
Hi MARR! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the BRAVIA Theater Quad. We're thrilled that you're loving it and that it's become a part of your daily routine. Hearing that it’s the best home theater system you’ve ever bought truly means a lot.
We designed this system to deliver that crystal-clear, immersive sound, and it's awesome that pairing it with your Sony TV has created the perfect setup for you.
We really appreciate your loyalty to Sony! All the best, Estefany

I like the surround sound experience it provides. Coming from a proper soundbar, it felt a little different missing a center channel. However, after a day, I stopped noticing that. I also added the SW5 subwoofer for a better sound at the low end. Overall, I like it. Wish it were a little less expensive.

I did a lot of research and listening on sound bars before buying this for my second TV. The reviews were pretty unanimous on the quality of this product and I do have to say, I agree! The only negative is it can only be used with one of two Sony subs and neither one is big enough to really give you good deep bass for a larger room.
Hi mcgill94, thanks for choosing and purchasing our product. We appreciate you feedback regarding the optional subwoofers. Expand the cinematic experience with optional wireless subwoofer (SA-SW3 or SA-SW5). Thanks for choosing Sony. ~Earl

Easy setup and sounds amazing. Phantom center is superb - correct position and dialogue is actually much clearer than most dedicated center channel systems I've used. Probably want to add a a sub, though, if you want booming bass.
You made the right choice! We're thrilled that you are enjoying the sound quality and user-friendly functions of the BRAVIA Theater Quad. If you need an external subwoofer, we recommend the Sony SA-SW3 or SA-SW5. Thank you for choosing Sony!

Best plug in play system and huge upgrade over A9

I am blown away by the improvements between the original A9 and the new Quad (A9M2). The improvement in audio quality is night and day. A fuller, richer sound. Better bass out of the same SW5 used with the old system and thankfully, no droupouts like with the old. The other major improvement is in the phantom center performance. With the original A9 I had to use the "voice" option to have clear vocals but the Quad absolutely does not need the "voice" function at all. If you are an A9 owner, do yourself a favor and upgrade to this system. It is is better in every way (except I find the display on the control box dimmer and harder to see but who cares). If you are in need of the best plug and play sound system available today that will outperform any soundbar simply because of the wide seperation possible this is it. The atmos is also better than any Samsung flagship bar I've ever listened to. This is worth the price!
You made the right choice upgrading to the Sony BRAVIA Theater Quad! We're thrilled that you are enjoying the sound quality of the home theater system. Thanks for choosing Sony!

Beautiful Product, Disappointing Sound in Our Home
|

I had a lot of fun setting these up. Sony made a beautiful home theatre in a box with the Quad set!
The aesthetic of the square shape and gray fabric looked beautiful in my living room.
However, we could never get the sound right. The quads, in theory, create a "phantom" center channel because they don't actually have a center speaker.
However, in our space, the phantom center did not work well or would only work for one person in our room at a time. The rest of us would hear dialog coming out of only one speaker, when you want the dialog to come from the center (where the TV is). If you have a Sony TV, you can potentially get around this problem by using the S Center link cable. We don't have a Sony TV, so that was not possible for us.
The wide soundstage was impressive, and that's where these excel over a soundbar.
However, in our room, even beyond the center issue, they never sounded as good as we expected them to sound.
And that's even when we added the SW5 subwoofer.
Therefore, as much as we loved the appearance of these, we had to return them. We went with a Sonos Arc Ultra, with Sonos Sub 4, and Era 300 surrounds and have been much happier with that setup.
If you own a Sony TV or have a more medium to small size room, you might still try these Quads.
Thanks for your detailed review of the BRAVIA Theater Quad. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! We're glad to hear how fun was the setup process and you're enjoying the elegant design of the system—beautiful, minimalist and aesthetic.
We're sorry to hear that the phantom center channel did not meet your expectations and created a less-than-ideal listening experience for your family. We understand your frustration with dialogue not being consistently anchored to the TV, and we appreciate your insight into how this can be a challenge in certain room environments. The S-Center speaker link is indeed designed to address this by using a compatible Sony TV's speakers as the center channel, and we understand why this solution was not available to you.
It's encouraging to know that you were impressed with the wide soundstage, as this is a key benefit of the BRAVIA Theater Quad's design. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the overall sound performance, even with the addition of the SW5 subwoofer.
We understand that finding the perfect audio solution for your unique space is essential, and we're glad you found a setup that works better for you and your family. We will be sure to pass your valuable feedback regarding the phantom center channel and overall sound performance to our engineering team for future product development.
Thanks for choosing Sony!
Sincerely, Jenn | Sony Social Media Team.

Amazing Sound, So-So construction and mounting

These sound amazing, but the fabric is incredibly thin and fragile. I found the mounting solution easy, but finding a good looking speaker stand for this unique design was a little challenging. Best Buy sells a fixed-height Sanus pair for $150 that looks ok, but is not a good deal. If you have the right room shape, then the flush wall mounts would work perfectly without the need for stands. All-in-all, I am happy with these and they replaced a more traditional Klipsch 5.1 large system. This has a much higher Wife Approval Factor, and they sound way better than I expected for the size. I do wish they came with a center channel, as dialog is noticeably muddled compared to my old system. I have an LG OLED rather than the Sony TVs that augment the center channel from the TV Panel, so that could have improved my center channel experience. But I'm not going to get an entirely new TV just for that feature.

Great speaker, it sounds like im hearing for the first time after getting them. Playing them at the correct volume after having set them up is like putting on glasses for the first time and realizing you couldnt see before.
"Putting on glasses for the first time" is such a perfect way to describe the jump to the Bravia Theatre Quad. We are thrilled that the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping is giving you that crystal-clear, "first time" listening experience. With 16 total speakers working together to create phantom speakers all around you, it really does change how you "see" your favorite movies and music.
There is nothing like that feeling of discovering details in your favorite tracks that you never knew were there. Enjoy the new perspective and thank you for choosing Sony!

Great product, excellent quality. Amazing sound, easy to set up and install. The box and control remote looks cheap, but that's doesn't matter. Great system is worth the price it costs.

This system sounds amazing but is a bit overpriced. If Sony sold this at $2000 retail or included the SW-5 sub with it for $2500, it would be a more reasonable value.

I am very glad that I made the purchase of this system. It is just about as great as I was told it would be.
I was hoping that I could use my Sony A90J 83' with this system, as a center channel. This cannot be the case, as I have learned. However, I was pleased to realize that I don't need it because of the phantom center channel that is created. It is as if the sound is coming directly from television!
I decided that I am keeping the system! It has only enhanced the experience of having my television.
