It protects it from the other items in my backpack that could possibly damage it. A bit pricey, however, worth the investment considering the cost of the lens it is protecting.

High Quality Case for the Price

It is not too tight and the lens does not move around while in the case. The only downside is the size of the case relative to the size of the lens, although I would not trade this case in for one that offered less protection in return for a smaller size. The zippers are strong and the case exterior is sturdy as well.
