Knowing this is where 80% of your dialogue will come from, it would have made sense for Sony to make this the best of the bunch, but they didn’t. Honestly, this is the only speaker that’s sounds excessively tinny and tends to muffle voices when paired with the Sony Movie presets. If you’re smart, you’ll buy the rest of the CS Series of speakers, skip this, and get something like the Klipsch center channel.

Posted .Hi Realist, Thank you for choosing Sony. We are sorry to hear that the SSCS8 did not meet your expectations when it comes to dialogue. Please try adjusting the equalizer settings on your receiver to get your preferred audio quality. Raising the center channel volume relative to the left/right and surround channels on your receiver makes dialogue louder than the music and sound effects, so it's easier to understand what the actors are saying.

Once the “sweet spot” is figured out, sit back and enjoy. Great addition; good bass and treble responses! l highly recommend it.
