Excellent speaker for the price

Great center speaker when on sale

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned this speaker for a few years and can definitively say it is a tremendous upgrade when paired with the other Sony 3 Series speakers as compared to a sound bar or the TV's speakers. The center speaker is arguably the most important speaker in a surround sound setup and this speaker does a great job with sound clarity. Action scenes, sports, and people's voices in general sound very clear through this speaker. This is a great budget starter center channel speaker for those looking to get into home theater type audio. You will not be disappointed in spending on this versus a sound bar!

Sony center channel speaker

I was hoping for more voice clarity as so often in movies the background sounds tend to muffle voices. This speaker is OK but didn’t help with voice clarity.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience so far with your SSCS8 4" 2-Way Center-Channel Speaker. We value your input regarding the low center channel dialog. To resolve the issue, check the setup menu of your AV receiver to see if you can adjust the center channel output level or adjust the center channel equalization. Also, try playing a different source and perform a test tone operation to check if the speakers are functioning correctly.

Not terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m pretty picky about my sound system and I used to have 20 year old set up. I ended up upgrading EVERYTHING and went with Sony. I feel this spreader could be better. But I got it on sale so I’m not terribly disappointed. But I definitely would not pay full price for it. Mainly it’s hard to hear. But what sound does come out is very clear so I guess I would recommend if you were on a tight budget.
