This camera was a gift to my grandma. It's easy for her to use. Has beautiful quality and is compact enough to travel with. It's been a win.

Very good replacement for a similar, older model. An enhancement is the flip screen to take group shots with you in it. The image flips and there is a 3 sec timer delay for the camera to focus and so everyone knows when the shot will fire. Has an old fashioned eyepiece pop up viewer, but I can't find usefulness out of it. It's always blurry. The buttons are really small. Yes, I wanted a small camera to replace my other so I'm used to small buttons. This generation is a bit smaller than the former, but the buttons got a lot smaller. An absent feature is the ability to take pictures while in movie mode like the former generation. I really liked that feature on the other one.

You can zoom real far with this camera and plus, tilt the screen upwards and you have your own selfie camera! Quality is terrific and it's definitely a compact camera on the go.

We did Kilimanjaro and a safari and had to pack light. Although a larger camera and lens would have been better for some shots, the Sony produced some awesome pictures. Great camera and easy to use.

I specifically wanted this camera because I liked the flip up screen when you take selfies. Quality of pictures is amazing and the camera itself is a perfect size. Not bulky or heavy.

Needed a camera for concerts. Couldnt take my 50x optical zoom one because they dont allow those in. This one they do and it zooms in great as well. It does very well at capturing colors and nightime shots (if not zoomed in). Video at low and normal light is also impressive.

Very sharp pictures, excellent zoom and a viewfinder in a camera that fits in a pocket and weighs about half a pound. Haven't put it through all its paces yet, but so far, so good!

shoots high res photos and has an amazing zoom option. The video is recorded at a respectable FPS given the amount you spend, and it has neat features (such as the ability to take analog photos using an old school camera view). Would definitely recommend this for beginners.

I was looking for a camera to take on my vacation out of the country. I wanted something small and easy to use that could record good videos and take good pictures. It takes pictures great in low light and the flip screen makes my life so easy. Everyone was telling me to just get a GoPro but I do not regret me decision. After the trip, I still use the camera. Discovered so many features, it's hard not to love this camera.

This camera checks all the boxes — it’s tiny, has tremendous zoom capability, and is easy to focus. Its one fault, however, is the completely absurd placement of the video button. If you’re shooting in a vertical format, your thumb will inevitably hit the video button. In events when you’re trying to shoot quickly, this can be a big deficit. I’m sure I’ll get trained eventually to avoid holding the camera comfortably, but til then, I’ve got about 30 10-second videos to delete.

The Sony Cybershot DSC-HX80 is my second purchase in this line of cameras and I am impressed by the variety of features offered for the price as well as the versatility of the camera for a well-featured point-and-shoot. I have taken excellent outdoor landscape shots, portraits of other people, and low-light images at concerts. It is perfectly sized for me, offers a variety of manual features to grow into as a photographer, and my favorite feature is the pop-up viewfinder to enable precision shots without having to look at the larger digital display. Highly recommended.

I love this camera. It is very compact & 30X super zoom is really clear. Very easy to use auto mode, but I'm trying to control manual mode. That is also very fun.

Good camera for the price. Lightweight & mobile. The lens does get foggy easily so I'd say that's the only flaw. Other than that good picture and video quality for vlogging

Purchased for a teenager to vlog. For the most part her IPhone videos turn out just as nice. Optical image stabilization is nice. Extra long zoom is neat but kind of useless. Not very good low light. For the price its not really a great deal. No touch screen. No mic input (not a deal breaker). No timelapse. Still the cheapest flip up screen camera available so it's not all bad. Does really well in daylight videos, like really well. The viewfinder is a nice bonus, albiet kind of useless too.

After reading reviews and talking with the folks in the camera department, I decided to purchase this camera. I haven't had a chance to use the camera, but the things that helped me choose this camera were the pocket size, the 30x optical zoom, and eye viewfinder.

great point and shoot camera with an excellent zoom ability. I can put in the back pocket of my jeans and carry anywhere easily and shoot great pictures as well. I have used this little camera at many concerts and events while sitting in the back end of the venue and have been able to zoom in and get details like a guitar sitting onstage. I also enjoy the selfie option giving you a visible 3 second countdown so you can get ready and set up the shot!

I wanted something small enough to fit in a shirt pocket with at least 10x zoom and the DSC-HX80 fits the criteria. I have a little trouble getting the right mode and for the setting, but practice would take care of that. I have missed a few video's because I did not hit the dedicated record button but I should have noticed the on-screen display said STAND BY instead of RECORD. I was surprised that I actually use the pop-up view finder instead of the LCD screen, but is nice in certain lighting situations. Quality of pictures is better than any phone.
