    After speaking with the sales rep I thought this item could be used to play DVDs from around the world. My wife is from Taiwan and watches DVDs that are not American made. The region code on this unit cannot be changed (at least I can't find a way to change it) and can only play Region 1 DVDs. Player is fine except for European or Asian DVDs.

    The Sony DVPSR510H is a good basic dvd player. I use it to play DVDs and CDs. The out put plugs into my TV and my soundbar system.
