DVD player hums and makes a lot of noise when playing a disc. It’s actually so much noise that you can hear it over what you’re watching. Started to do this after about 6 weeks of light use (4 hours per week).

So far so good. It replaced a dvd and tape combination that lasted for quite a few years from magnavox.

First DVD I put in wouldn't play. Said had incorrect country code? Also, control buttons are very hard to use has not much is in front of display panel.

Bought an open box item - with someone else's dvd in it. After it took several tries to get it to open, I started to think that might be why. Got to use my own dvd, but I found out it wouldn't open by the remote, and took many tries to open it by the button on the player. Returning.

The unit appears to read both pre-recorded DVD's and CD's and also burned DVD's and CD's. At this time it's doing everything I need it to do.

After connecting everything it seems this DVD player is Dead on Arrival: It will not play a DVD. While I tried 5 or 6 different DVDs, the player tries to load it, gives up, then says "Can not play this DVD.

A utilitarian product that gets the job done, no frills.

It work great at first, but after 4 months it started to scratch all the dvds making them skip and freeze

purchased Oct 2017 played great until middle of Dec now will not read any disc and only says disc are dirty. cleaned laser, cleaned dvd's.

This Sony CD/DVD is a real disappointment. It has no LED counter. You don't know what track your CD is playing nor time length. You can't search your DVD without a counter. The A/C indicator is so weak you can't even see it in the dark. Don't waste your money, buy some other brand!

Purchased this player for my father to replace his LG player that still works after 10 years, but the remote stopped functioning. This Sony is so light weight you can't even insert a disc without it sliding around and the remote is so small he can't even see the buttons. Stay away from this one. It's a toy!

Bought for my mother for Christmas so she could watch DVD copies of our family home videos. Product won't read the format DVD the home videos are burnt onto. I plan on returning this product actually.

I had two of these, both lasted less than 2 years each. They really did not get heavy use, and the failed very early in their life.

This device died after 1 year of use. It did not read the discs after minimal use. I cleaned the discs but still would not read. Disappointed.

I got two and planning on getting two more for around the house I only have 2 1040i TVs that will handle Blu Ray so the upscale is good for the lower end bedroom and kitchen HD TVs that only go up to 720p I like this player, it is simple and does the job and has small foot print and is especially good if you place it below the TV since the controls are on top Do not try to set your TV on top of this Not a Good Idea and I know you were thinking of doing this! :)

Disc kept have a problem loading. Took several times to load. One time the disc did not come out the first time.

Haven't honestly used it yet i need an HDMI cord so far it's being annoying to have to deal with it

Best Buy is the worst scammer out there. Run and run fast. Pay more if you have too.
