This very inexpensive DVD player is great! I could not believe how HD-like the picture is, but what really amazed me was the fact that the picture now occupies the full screen, not just the center part as was the case with my old Sony DVD/VCR combo. I've been using the player for four days now and have found nothing not to love. I've recommended it to several friends and family members, two of whom have already ordered one. NB: It is necessary to also buy the HDMI cable.
I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your new DVD player. Please check the connection of the player to the TV, make sure the cable is connected securely to both ends. Try playing several different discs to see if the issue is with the discs of the player. The disc should be free from dust, dirt or scratches. Returned to Best Buy because it was defective. It would not turn on. Decided to purchase a better unit.
