I originally purchased the Sony 24-105mm f/4 for my A7R IV body but one thing that kept bothering me was the mediocre handheld results with my journalistic style photography. And so I decided to return it and upgrade to the Sony 24-70 mm f/2.8 GM II lens and boy am I glad I did. More compact and smoother lens all around, much better shooting performance for handheld low light shooting, and really good bokeh and control of the depth of field allows me to really dial in my shots. I have this lens on my camera 90% of the time and I have zero complaints. Well worth the $1k price difference to get here.

By far best lens on the market when it comes to versatility. This lens is your go to when you need to capture all sorts of high quality run and gun content without having to switch lenses. If I had just one lens in my bag it would be this one. Well worth the money and you know you are getting the protection and security you need when buying expensive gear when shopping with Best Buy. 10/10 would recommend.

Lightest and smallest standard zoom for all of full frame. Image quality is good but it’s probably not the best value unless size and weight weigh heavily into your decision.

This is a G-master lens that I've waited so impatiently to finally get my hands on. I initially had the mark 1 version but I would say that this newer release is as highly versatile, so easy to use, and the lighter weight makes so much of a difference. The aperture ring also makes this upgrade also all the more worth the use. I'm excited to make more videos and capture photos with this gem!

The Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens is truly impressive—images are crystal clear, and the fast F2.8 aperture really helps when shooting in low light or creating beautiful background blur. The big win here is the lighter weight: at around 695 grams, it’s about 20% lighter than the previous version, making a major difference for all-day use or travel.

I have owned this lens for only about five days. It is the most expensive lens I have ever purchased by many magnitudes, and I am using it on the most expensive camera I have ever purchased (the Sony A7 IV purchased from BB). That said, my impression after four days is simple: magic. This lens is so versatile, the images so sharp, at all magnifications, even out to the edges, and colors jump off the page. I can't believe I'm generating these gorgeous images; it's just magic. I happened to be in a position when I could splurge and treat myself to such an expensive canera lens, and I am totally pleased. I know I will learn a lot more on how best to use this lens, and will grow with this lens and camera, but the results so far have exceeded my expectations. Sony knocked it out of the park. Yes, you pay a high price for this lens, but the money has been well spent.

I had the original version of this lens and am ecstatic with my upgraded purchase. This lens along with the 70-200 F2.8 GM II stay on my camera 95% of the time. Image quality is as if you are using a prime lens with the versatility of a zoom-what else could you want?

This was a buy once cry once purchase for me and I have no regrets. The quality and options on the lens are fantastic. I purchased the warranty just to give me some extra security with how expensive it is.

Absolutely great image quality at all focal lengths and apertures. Brought on a trip to Europe with an A7R5 (along with a Viltrox 16mm f/1.8 and the G Master 135mm f/1.8) and it was definitely the one on my camera for the vast majority of the time with it's versatility. It's certainly a very pricey lens, but will serve me for years and years to come without a doubt. I actually am not pining for any of the primes in this range at the moment as this f/2.8 is providing really excellent images with great separation. I definitely do not regret this purchase!

I love this lens its lighter than the first generation GM 2.8 28-70mm and it gets me crystal clear photos that my clients love! I highly recommend this lens. it's special and has a new aperture ring around it to where at the spin of the dial you can change your F stomp!

Excellent camera lens. Not too heavy and great capabilities. I use it for my Sony FX3 camera.
