Not much better than the f/4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The lens looks nice at f/2.8 for static objects (portraits) but it's very difficult to work with so it has to be stopped down below f/4 to have a chance to get good focus. Bokeh isn't very good on the edges as they are oval and only round in the center. There is minimal onion effect due to the ASPH elements, which is nice. Sports are extremely difficult to shoot. Tracking focus on the A7 with this lens is almost impossible. You have to pre-focus in an area and then rapid shoot a lot of frames hoping one of them will be in focus. A7n cameras are not fast enough for that. Review of the 2x and 1.4x extenders are dismal so it doesn't even help you shoot longer if you do opt to get this to use an extender. If you have the f/4, just stick with it and ignore this upgrade as you'll just get a heavier lens with no benefits.
