Bought this as a birthday gift for my son who loves creating videos and wants to be a movie director. He absolutely loves it! The only problem, which has nothing to do with the product itself, is when I made the purchase it recommended a scan disk memory card to go with. I bought it but later found (after he opened his present) it wasn’t the right size. Thought that was weird considering it was recommended to go with the product. A little annoying to have to exchange it, especially during these times, but it is what it is. Not complaining, just saying that to say, if you just started becoming an online shopper some things don’t look how they appear so really pay attention. It ‘recommended’ only 1 scan disk and said it went with this product but turns out the product uses a MINI scan disk. I did read the fine print I guess I just missed that part or assumed the recommended product was for it. Who knows but the product itself we love!

Solid camera, only downside is the memory card being a bit confusing. I also am not a total fan of there being no ‘on’ switch/button, just open the door and hope it doesn’t go to sleep in the meantime. This was a gift for a parent who is not super tech savvy and it fit the bill.

Purchased the Sony Handycam to do quick videos. Easy to use. Wish it had a built in hard drive but does not. Must use a card. Mini at that. Does the job.

I have no complaints. Works great easy to use. Just don't forget it takes micro sd card

Good deal reasonable priced it just needs memory card.

For the price you can't beat it. Not a ton of bells and whistles, but does what it is supposed to do. Would have been better if it came with a memory card though

This is a great starter camera, purchased for my 9 yr old to shoot videos for Youtube and she loves it, also great for taking pics, killed 2 birds with one stone Cons: Had to purchase memory card, but 32GB was more than enough

When I bought the camera, I asked for an extra battery and two 64 cards because we would be taking videos of our grandson's basketball games and wanted to make sure we had enough memory and battery to do that. The camera was a Christmas gift for my husband. When he opened the gift Christmas Day, he could not use it, because the salesperson sold me a 64 chip for a photo camera, NOT the 64 Video card needed for this camera. Very disappointed. The camera has not been used yet, because we have to wait until we can get the proper video card! As for "Would I recommend this to a friend? I'm not sure because I haven't been able to use it yet!

this uses the small sd card so it is not convienent.

Bought camcorder , extra batteries and memory card took it all on vacation only to find out I was sold the wrong memory card so camcorder was of no use. Called the store after returning from vacation and told it past the return date now.

Absolute junk. I have to insert the memory card like 10 times before it will recognize it.

Not very easy to learn to use. Short battery life. Not compatible with many other brands. Had to buy my own expensive memory card. The AP to download to my computer is being discontinued.

I bought the camera to set on a tripod and video tape my child's soccer games. It worked for about a month and then started having problems writing to the memory card. I sent it in for repair and then received it back in about a month. After a week of use, it's having the same problem. I've reformatted the memory card and used other ones to make sure it's the camera and not the card. At this point I want my money back. I didn't expect fantastic quality from a $200 camera, but I expected it to function.

Saw the great reviews on this handy cam went and got it on my lunch didn't know I needed a memory card to make it work. So disappointed
