So far so good! I haven’t tried it away from home yet so that’s the only thing keeping me from giving it a perfect score but so far it’s been staying connected and the graphics are great.

Xmas gift for daughter. She loves it!!! Yeah you must have internet to play. Not like prev PSP with local playing. But it works well for what she was wanting.

It’s not Bad, it could b muuuuuuch better, but Sony being Sony. I loses connection , but the touch screen and private experience is nice, it could b cheaper since Sony is raising membership like crazy. I give 6 out 10.

Great price for the portal. The new updates for the portal, makes the portal even more worth getting. Great quality and fun to play with. Would definitely recommend.

This product was a great idea, relatively compact, high-quality, awesome display. I even loved the fact that it was based on the dual sense controller, but that is where the good news ends. Activity on this device is poor at best. I have 500mb Internet in my home. I sat on my couch, 5 feet from the Wi-Fi router and about 8 feet from the PS5, which was hardwired to the router and the lag made gameplay unbearable. It was even worse when traveling. I would leave in my PS5 turned on and connected to the Internet. And then try to connect from a remote location with equally fast Internet, and the device would barely connect much less be playable. I sincerely hope that Sony can’t get these connection issues worked out because this will be a great alternative to lugging my PlayStation around with me when I travel for work.
All of this said, I must go back to the beginning and say that the build quality is exceptional, feels great in hand with a stunning display. Just needs better, connectivity and better support on the PlayStation network.

PS portal is alright if you know what you are buying, its generally not its own system it works off your PS5 at home, but recently there was and update that you can stream your digitally purchased games or the free games that come with PS plus so it does make it better how ever you always need an internet connection to use this no matter what....and you also need a internet connection where ever you are and your ps5 is in order to mirror your ps5

When I first heard about this during the summer, I said there’s no reason for me to need or want one with my wife betting me I would. Fast forward to November, the Portal was released and I was recovering from surgery. I couldn’t go to my cave to play my PS5, and I suddenly realized a reason to want and need one. She won. After a pure stroke of luck, I managed to get one. It has linked easily to my PS5 each time I’ve turned it on and I have experienced very little lag, only an occasional hiccup when the internet traffic is high in my home, but no interruption to the overall gameplay. My main gripe is I’m old school so the majority of my games are disc based, meaning if I want to play NBA 2K, Madden, Spider-Man 2, etc., I have to go and insert the disc. However, that’s not the fault of the Portal. Download from now on! The screen looks very good in my opinion and any complaints are nick picky. The speakers are surprisingly good and louder than expected. Incidentally. I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones connected to a dongle and plugged into a port on PS5. When the Portal connects to the PS5, I turn on the wireless headphones and listen through them while playing. The wireless range has worked even with the distance between the rooms, so there is a workaround for lack of direct Bluetooth. 4 stars instead of 5 because there is a wealth of potential with the Portal, so Sony needs to stop playing with our emotions and come with it!

I am so happy with this purchase I can't recommend it enough. I do think to get max use of the portal you should have the PSN premium. Which allows you to stream directly to the portal.

Great item, especially with the cloud syreaming feature being implemented (hot spot from phone for wifi on the go). But more importantly the gentlemen who assisted me went above and beyond with the service to best assist me.

Initial opinion: Great clarity, onscreen setup was relatively simple, decent battery life (can also plug-in/charge while playing), good sound quality (has 3.5mm headphone jack, but haven't tried using USB-C to see if that works too), D-pad is replaced with a button on left side. I couldn't find a charging indicator/status light anywhere when I plugged it back in which I thought was odd. After playing a few hours on it, the only downside I found so far is that at times it does lag, freeze, get grainy and that was on the same home WiFi network with the PS5 in the next room. My router is a Netgear AX1800 and both the console/Portal were within 20 feet of the router. Since this isn't an issue of lack of bandwidth, it must be the Portal itself, especially since others have reported the same issue. However, it's nice to be able to play while someone else is watching TV. I was playing a downloaded game and haven't tried it with a physical disc game yet, but the lag may not be tolerable in the middle of an action scene/battle.

Great cloud device. Works well at home when connected to PS5 and on vacation WiFi. Even used at the hospital on their WiFi. The input delay feels much like playing are online multiplayer game. It’s there but not deal breaker. Wouldn’t recommend playing very twitchy games on it.

This purchase has been a very large leap 8n gaming for me. I know that this device is not a stand alone portable gaming device, but it has truly given me the ability to clear my back log of games. While at the same time allowing the rest of the family that same alloted time for shows or movies. A big win all around.
