This device is fun and useful, but also lacks in a few ways. You can't stream video/TV to it, and all the games are streamed so there's prone to be delay/lag and you can't play with no internet connection. But overall it's a pretty fun device, handy for traveling and gaming if that suits your fancy.

This device is a game changer for me. I am no longer stuckon the tv. I can play this wherever i want in my house and its so convenient if you have kids. You do need good internet for it to really work but once it does its great. You also need ps plus premium if you want to stream from their library or your digital library.

Works great for its very specific purpose of streaming PS5 games. It would be great if Sony opened it up to allow streaming through Geforce Now, Steam, or other 3rd party applications.
Screen size is right where it should be for a handheld, and the controller grips are some of the best designed and most comfortable out there for a handheld.
My only problem with it is that it's tied exclusively to the Playstation format when (admittedly more expensive) competitors like the Logitech G Cloud, Steam Deck, and ROG Ally have no such restrictions.

I love this thing! The screen is way bigger than I expected too and is extremely crisp and clear. My PS5 is hooked up to a 4k monitor and even though the Portal is only 1080p, the picture looks great. I haven’t had any issues with connectivity and have been using it for a few months now. For the price, I highly recommend

Bought one for my son to use around the house AKA in the restroom or sitting in the livingroom. His worked as intended. I decided to buy one for myself and take to work to mess with during downtime. I was worried about internet connection, lag and overall functionality of the device. I left my PS5 on rest mode got to work and at lunch linked the PSP to the internet and it only took a few seconds to connect. Now, the wifi at my work sucks but the games played flawlessly with no delays, lags, pixelization or disconnects. I played the downloaded ninja turtles collection from the monthly games for about 10 min and I played Star Wars Outlaws for about 20 min. No problems as of right now. Im guessing that for others that had trouble it was user error because i was ready to return mine if it didnt work as intended but it did work so i will keep this in my desk for when ive got downtime and or just need something to distract me. I will update if i have problems down the road.

Its an excellent remote player. I like it better than using my phone or tablet. Sony deciding not to add bluetooth capabilities is a head scratcher but there are ways around it. The screen is vibrant and large enough to enjoy gaming on the go. I've used this with my hotspot and other wifi away from home and aslong as the wifi is strong enough it works great with minor frame drops. Battery life is decent and lasts longer with some minor tweaks to settings. Pricing is where it should be. Overall a great item that does what its intended to do very well, with some minor issues that are easily remedied.

The PlayStation Portable Black is sleek with impressive screen quality. I purchased the offline gaming package to stream cloud gaming, and it’s awesome! The game library is diverse, making it perfect for gaming on the go. Definitely a great investment for portable gaming lovers!

I was initially hesitant to purchase the PlayStation Portal after hearing mixed reviews, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance! It’s been a game-changer for me. The convenience of being able to play remotely when I need to be away from my console is unbeatable. The setup was smooth, and the performance has been great for my needs. If you’re looking for flexibility with your PS5 gaming, this is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

Hook up your ps5 to ethernet and it will play smooth as butter. Before I did that there were frame rate and connectivity issues. Since then it has played great. Great battery and screen.

This device is beautiful and it feels wonderful in your hands, but the screen is outdated and the colors feel washed out. It can stream games, but it requires a PS Premium membership which is an additional $17.99/month on top of the price of the device. Remote play is an option if you have a PS5, but you pretty much have to be at home to play it. I had issues connecting this device to my iPhone's wifi hotspot, but apparently, that is an issue with T-Mobile, and not with Sony. I just couldn't justify the price for the value I was getting with this device.

I love being able to watch tv in the same room with my husband while he plays PlayStation! We used to always be resigned to different rooms. He's had no complaints with speed and functionality and often picks up the portal now even when the tv isn't even in use. Great purchase!

Perfect little handheld for a console truthfully we you can even use it as a secondary PlayStation to a point you can stream your own Library and have someone playing on the main console comparing it to something like the Rog Ally it is a definite leg up controller feels very nice only weird part is is that you have to use the touch screen and as the touchpad on the PS5 controller I really wish they had something like the steam deck with the little mouse pad accessory with it but truthfully $300 it's worth it

So I was super skeptical about this product because I use remote play already with my phone or laptop. These past weeks before it was delivered I have been testing remote play extensively in my home and it does alright bit this seems to run much better for some reason. It is so nice to have dedicated device for this and the screen is beautiful and a perfect size. I have been putting in some good gaming sessions with it while hangong with tbe kid and wife and It runs so well that sometimes i forget i am on remote play. And i dont have the best internet. I have the tier right below the 1 gig plan. So i would recommend this to any dad gamer out there.

PS Portal is great at what its supposed to do. First, you need to connect your PS5 to ethernet so you have a stable internet connection. If you don't have ethernet cable, you can get them for cheap. Once its connected, it works great. I usually like to lay in bed at night and play for a little bit on PS Portal. It works great for me, because I don't want to turn on the TV in living room and play that late. Its very comfortable and screen looks really nice. Im fine with plugging in the earphones. I don't need bluetooth. All in all, its a great product. Im sure Sony will make second generation even better.

Great if you have a PS5 or just want to play on the cloud gaming. (Monthly fee) with limits. The controller and screen are perfect for a handheld gaming setup. Just wish it was a dedicated system.

You can travel with it and play remotely. It sometimes lags and disconnects from playstation but that has to do with how many things are on the network. It eats up data so be careful when using mobile hotspot. Overall if you are using it at home it is good.

Joy stick needs improvement. It doesn’t have the same force/tension to it as a regular joy stick controller so if your trying to play games with aim assist or not then it’ll throw your aim too far left or right or whatever direction you’re shooting.
Other wise generally and over all I thought this was a pretty good device. I’d preface this though that I utilize 1gig download speeds and 200mb upload speeds. I have my ps5 connected to Ethernet. Cloud gaming is not quite there yet for shooting games as there is still noticeable latency. I will say however that for me at least, the latency is not too bad; and maybe milliseconds off of a regular controller to tv experience. The only thing that bugs me the most and almost made me return this was the joy sticks issue I described above. If they release some way to modify it so it has the same tension as a dual sense controller then I’d get that. Only reason I kept this was because it’s still a good device to use when someone else is using the tv and it’s pretty decent for casual non shooter games.
Despite all this the connection will obviously vary if you take this beyond your own home internet; that is if your home internet is reliable in the first place. I found this to not work so great at my friends house but he has 500mb download speed internet, with alot of kids using other devices. Note that upload speed is more important when remote playing as the ps5 is uploading the feed to your portal.
All this being said, there is controversy online on whether the ps5 can even utilize upload speeds beyond 20mb. Many if not all ps5 owners report this issue. Speed test on the settings, even if you have over 200mb upload speeds, will typically only show that the ps5 is using maybe 18-20mbps. Yet oddly enough if you use the browser on the ps5 and speed test.net then it shows your full upload speed. It doesn’t make sense why the os5 limits upload speed. If they removed this limitation maybe the portal for all users will be much better.
