I have been waiting for Sony to make this product worth while and the new update did exactly that. With the ability to stream games straight from the PS PLUS service, this product has become well worth the purchase. It feels great in your hands and the screen is beautiful! Its the best mobile gaming device by far in my opinion.

Very great product. The graphics are just as good as the actual console. You’re able to access your account on this device without even having your console. The screen itself is so big , it makes my switch look like an iPhone mini . lol This made a great gift ,

Works perfectly on my home WiFi. Took about 15 minutes to get it updated and connected then it was game time. Battery lasts about 3 hours but that may vary. Fast shipping I ordered it on a Friday and had it by Monday.

This is one of the best purchases that I have EVER made!!! I am 59 years old and gaming help me to come down after a long day at work and when I travel for work it helps to still be able to connect to my PS5 and play a game or two for an hour, and that's where the PlayStation portable comes in. I can connect to mt PS5 from wherever I am or I can stream games from my PlayStation Plus account. Great purchase. I recommend.

This was great for my situation. Basically I wanted the PS5 in the living room so everyone in the house could access it but still wanted a method of playing my games in my room. The wifi router happens to be in my room and my PS5 is connected with an Ethernet cable so I get a perfect connection 99% of the time. Randomly I do get some buffering where the picture gets laggy but it quickly corrects itself. Previously I tried a backbone controller but I really wanted a bigger screen plus with the backbone you basically lose your phone while you play. Now for the cons, the most obvious is there is no Bluetooth and with a handheld that's surprising. Not sure if it was my headphones but the headphone jack on mine seems to lose connection and I have to reinsert it to register. I did buy open box excellent so not really bothered since the speakers largely get the job done. But the thing that bothers me most is the psp portal not being able to turn on your PS5. You either have to leave it in sleep or on all the time from seemless connection to your ps portal. For me I just turn my PS5 on and walk back to my room once it's connected but it's definitely a hassle. Overall I recommend it if you want access to your PS5 in multiple rooms. I can't speak on how it handles out in the world.

I bought my grandson this Sony-PlayStation Portal Remote Player for his birthday, but specifically to keep him occupied during summer days. My fingers were crossed hoping it will cause him to unplug his game from the TV so my grand daughter and her friends when they come to visit can watch the TV in the den. It worked, yesssss. He loves the versatility of this hand held devise, he's from room to room with no lag from the Wi-Fi.

I was very very hesitant to get the Portal, i wasnt sure i would use it enough to make it worth it, nor was i sure if it worked well due to a lot of reviews saying its laggy and takes a lot of time to connect. I am pleased to say it is SO worth it! The over all build of the portal is great, at first glance i thought it looked fragile and cheaply made, but it is much sturdier than i thought. The controller grips feel exactly the same as the duelsense controllers, just with slightly smaller control sticks. Lets just say my internet at my house is patchy at best. My provider is very unreliable but its the only option in my area. With that being said in my house i have no connection issues with the portal and very little lag (only stutters if we have a bunch of devices on the wifi at once and "high traffic times" when close neighbors' signals jam up), but that was maybe one or two nights. I also had issues getting disconnected from the wifi one night but im chalking that up to the service provider and not the portal! Over all i would say, if you would like to play PS5 as your tv is taken up by a significant other or you want to watch something as you game, the portal is for you. If you want to go lay in bed and play a bit before falling asleep, its for you. If you travel (to places with wifi) its for you. I didnt think id use it as much as i have, i originally thought "oh its not for me", but i have found myself making excuses to use the Portal. I have run a variety of games on it, from simple games like PS classic games and Stardew Valley, to more demanding games like FF7 rebirth demo, God of War Ragnorok, etc. All have worked perfectly. The screen is bright and looks great even for just an lcd. One down point is the fact that the lowest volume setting on it is still VERY loud, so if im playing in bed and my fiancee wants to read, i end up needing headphones, which you can use a 3.5mm wired headphones, but not bluetooth! If you have the means to get one and are able to snag one as its in stock, do it! Its very worth it for even casual gamers!

This is a good product, but you need to have an extremely great internet service to use it. So, basically, you have to play next to your router what limited the places where you can use it.

The portal is a great way to play your ps5 around the house. It gives the flexibility of a handheld around your house. The only downside the battery life. It only last 3-4 hours and then takes a minute to recharge.

The PS Portal is, by a lot of definitions, a solid device. It’s essentially built like a dualsense with a tablet sandwiched in between the sides and is largely comfortable to use. The big notice with this thing is that Sony’s protocol for connecting to your PS5 is…imperfect to say the least. Bottom line, I find this thing works great for stuff like sports games, card games, some indie games, or other types of games that don’t super heavily rely on precision timing. The input delay introduced through remote play is passable, but I wouldn’t dare use it to play any FPS or even some more difficult platformers. All in all, it has its uses, and if your use case aligns with the mentioned scenarios above, I’d recommend it.

Firstly, the Playstation Portal isn't going to be for everybody. It's going to see the most use in situations where there are more than one person using a the television the PS5 is hooked up to. Secondly, the Portal performs best on a wifi network with a good, strong signal and nice high speeds. I have tested the Portal extensively while using my phone as a hotspot, and it works well enough to play something that isn't going to require a fast reaction time. As for the performance of the Portal and my own personal experience, I just couldn't be happier! I mostly use my Portal at home while my wife is using the television to play her Switch. Also when I'm relaxing in bed, that is an excellent time for the Portal to shine. The graphical fidelity is beautiful, great range of color on display, images comes through nice and sharp. Response time for the controls is almost without any lag at all, making gaming on this little gem a wonderful experience. Sound from the Portal is about what you'd expect from a portable device, it good enough. I picked up the Pulse Elite headset just to use with the Portal, glad I did. The Pulse Elite connects to the Portal without any dongles or extra hardware or anything, and it makes the audio experience VERY worth the price of the headset. If you get a Portal, get the Pulse Elite headset to go with it! Finally, the Playstation Portal is comfortable to use. It seemed like it was going to be a bit large at first, but after extended use I've found I can play for hours without any issues. Keep in mind this is on my home wifi network, which has very strong signal and very high speed. Even on my phone's hotspot, the Portal works well enough to play a lot of games, but I highly recommend using it on a good fast wifi.

I think it’s a great product. Was given to me as a birthday gift. It’s nice to be able to have my ps5 on the go. The one big complaint I have is your WiFi is a little shaky do not expect to connect to the ps5 very well. The cloud gaming feature still works good so streaming is a plus.
