If you have the use case the Portal is amazing. I have a shared living room TV so the Portal has been an amazing addition to my gaming setup. Would have given it a 5 but there’s some minor issues. First Sony doesn’t want you to use any headphones but there’s and connecting other products is a hassle. Second, if you have multiple users you have to sign out of the portal and sign in as the other users. It’s not an easy transition like it is on the console. Some of these issues could be patched and the future and then it would be the perfect remote player.

I was concerned about the Portal's ability to provide a smooth playing experience, considering all I'd read online. In use, I've been very pleased - particularly with the streaming option. Using our home internet (which is fiber but has plenty of other devices connected) streaming quality is smooth and fun. A little slower response for games played remotely from the PS5 but still playable as well. Worth it so far!

Pros
- Hardware quality is excellent
- Haptics is excellent, especially when playing games like NFS Unbound that take advantage of the haptic feedback technology
Cons
- Display is poor when compared to QLED or OLED gaming experience. Games like STEEP, which has a lot of 'whites' cannot be properly viewed on LCD screen, due to poor contrast. (Maybe changing the in game settings may work, but that would mess my display settings on PS5)
- Battery life was poor, not sure if i got a device that was more susceptible to battery drain
- Need to buy another sony wireless headset if you want to listen to audio (other options are in built speaker or cabled headphones)
The hardware is great (except display). I wish they had better display, battery and ability to connect any BT headphones)

The PlayStation Portal provides a sleek and focused method to enjoy your PS5 games remotely with its impressive 8-inch LCD screen and DualSense wireless controller, making it an appealing option for dedicated gamers. Priced at $200, the device offers a premium experience with its 60 fps capability, although its single-purpose nature might not justify the cost for those who prefer using multi-functional devices like phones or tablets for Remote Play. Despite this, the seamless integration and exclusive features may provide enough incentive for enthusiasts seeking an enhanced, uninterrupted gaming experience at home.

The portals design is light, product does not over heat and no does not make your arms tired from excessive game play. The battery could last longer, if you plan on playing out in public ensure to bring a battery pack as well. My game time is when the wife wants the TV for herself, screen protector and case applied before the kids got it.

The overall build quality is solid. Functionality so far is good. When games are streamed the quality of the graphics is like looking at my TV at home. The sound is perfect. I will eventually get wireless headphones and I know the sound will stay perfect.
