I love this thing! The screen is way bigger than I expected too and is extremely crisp and clear. My PS5 is hooked up to a 4k monitor and even though the Portal is only 1080p, the picture looks great. I haven’t had any issues with connectivity and have been using it for a few months now. For the price, I highly recommend

Always wanted it… but instantly regret it.
1) PS5 have to be on for it to work. And let’s say if your on road and if your PS5 is not on or on standby, it won’t work…
2) You CANNOT watch your Netflix, Hulu or any streaming services on your Media Tab.. Big downfall!!
3) Even with a 500meg internet, this device lags here and there and quality will be affected. Have to restart to have a stable connection again.
But the new update seems to fix the lag:. Just a bit

Works great for its very specific purpose of streaming PS5 games. It would be great if Sony opened it up to allow streaming through Geforce Now, Steam, or other 3rd party applications.
Screen size is right where it should be for a handheld, and the controller grips are some of the best designed and most comfortable out there for a handheld.
My only problem with it is that it's tied exclusively to the Playstation format when (admittedly more expensive) competitors like the Logitech G Cloud, Steam Deck, and ROG Ally have no such restrictions.

Ill preface my review by saying I have two kids, a wife, and one tv. My gaming time is limited but I try to make an effort to ger some game time in each week because it’s something I love doing. The Playstation Portal works much better than I anticipated. Is it perfect? No, but I’m surprised by the ease of use, comfortability, relatively low input lag and build quality. If you have a PS5, share a tv with your family and have your router connected via ethernet I believe this is a no brainer. The only reason I didn’t rate this 5 stars is because of lack of bluetooth. It’s not a deal breaker by any means as the pros heavily outweigh the cons.

I love how comfortable this device is but the lack of bluetooth audio support and the frequently fuzzy video/graphics quality ever since my first post-launch firmware update makes this hard to recommend. If the video quality returns to be like how it was near launch it actually would be easy to recommend even without bluetooth audio support. Since it had been better for my home WiFi setup, I expect it to be improved/restored in future updates which is the main reason I haven't returned the Portal. Until such an update fixes my video quality issues I haven't been using it since the quality is too low lately for me to consider it worth playing.

Great device and does what it's meant for at an okay price.
For hardware, I think $200 is well spent for a normal PS5 controller plus a built in 7-8" screen. This combo makes it much nicer to play on this than on my Back Bone paired with my phones. Controller is solid; screen is solid.
Do note that.Frame rates are terrible though. With the exact same PS5 setup, my phone paired with the backbone gives me constand 60fps pretty much all the time, while this Portal runs choppy, lots of frame drops, 30 fps ish more than half
