When i heard about this device i immediately knew i was the demographic. As a dad im often unable to go to my game room until the kids are sleeping. With the portal im able to play while the kids are playing. It feels like a duel sense. Id much prefer the portal over other remote play options. On home wifi its seemless for single player games. I connected it to my hotspot and the quality wasnt as great and i had a few frame drops but it was playable. Id recommend for any parent.

This is an ACCESSORY for the PS5. If you can remember this you will be very happy with it. Yes the type of internet connection you have at home connected to your PS5 makes the difference between whether your experience will be okay or great. For me, since having it I have been able to play games I’ve had but never played because I’m never sitting down on the couch. I recommend it to those looking to be able to play their PS5 away from the couch IF you have great internet.

Well connectivity issues when away from home graphics not quite as good as i thought they would of been and definitely lots of lag time

Love it! Except I wish there were more options as a stand alone console. You can now play games from a catalog on ps plus but that catalog is limited. Make it a fully standalone and everyone would kill to have it. It would become a top console.

Love it! The streaming works wonders. No lag. No hiccup..once in a while my PS5 disconnects from remote play, but over all its fantastic.

The PS Portal is certainly not for everyone. I think it only appeals to a small variety of people. Remote Play seems to be only popular with hardcore Playstation gamers. I got it because my parents watch a lot of TV, sometimes they binge watch shows for hours and I get bored and sometimes want to play a game or if i'm playing something that is inappropriate or something not of their tastes I would play the PS Portal on that specific game. When it works it works, but I recommend connecting it to a 5G network as I ended up doing, not a 2 GHZ network. While the overall functions are good it's a shame the Streaming services seem to be blocked and that would have been a great selling point to stream shows on the PS Portal as it has a really great screen and very useful when you need it. It isn't perfect but there is certainly room for improvement.

It allows you to play games while your kids or wife are using the TV. Genius.

Now that Sony has unlocked this to be able to connect from outside your home network (as long as you have good enough internet) makes this portal alot more usable and enjoyable for traveling.

You cant connect to any streaming apps, & if a game requires you to sign in with an account, like for example WWE 2K24 requires you to sign in with your 2K account before you play, you cant play it till you sign in on a console connrcted to a tv. Im also thinking if a game prevents you from being able to share it, you wont be able to see it on the portal. Other than that, solid srcice with a great display!

The connectivity isn’t always great. Has potential if they can improve the connectivity and reduce lagging when connecting directly to the console. Works well with the streaming beta with little lagging even on mobile hotspot. However, the selection of games you can stream is very limited. Also when streaming games don’t always save.

I have spent the past 2 weeks using this decice and I am blown away. I am 1100 miles from my machine due to a family emergency. All I needed was an internet connection and a my machine to be wired at home. It has performed flawlessly. Even when I used my phone hotspot, the lag has not been terrible. I wouldnt play any fast twitch games like COD or a fighting game but for all other games, I have been super impressed.

It’s good for gaming in the house away from the console. But the set up and amount of internet it takes isn’t worth it. Plus, your console has to be on the entire time. Might as well just play the console.

Got this for myself for Christmas and I was happy to get it using a tracker. A lot of scalpers purchasing this and costing more than retail. This PS5 accessory is needed if you have your PS5 located in the living room and you are sharing the tv with family members. This has been a savior and the battery life last about 4-5 hours depending on the settings I.e lower brightness level, haptic and trigger etc. works flawlessly and I love that the screen itself is accommodating.

Its for us poor dads who get bullied by our little loved ones and took our TVs away for cocomelon or whatever these kids like now adays, with the playstation portal our problems solved , this is your new nintendo switch but with ps5 power and exclusives, and as far as performance its flawless … i played in the bathroom, living room , dining room and most importantly 2 states away from where my ps5 is and it was still perfect , of course internet connection is required !!!

I had high expectations for this product the pros is the price and the cons is alot

The controls fit perfectly in your hands unlike the switch. The battery life is really good. The graphics are amazing and I didn’t really see any lag while playing as llong as you have a good WiFi connection. If you are someone who wants to play while your tv is in use, or just to play on the couch or elsewhere in the house vs being front of the tv or monitor its a great device.

This a great handheld device , changing your resolution to 1080p on your PS5 is recomended when streaming , the only issue i had was that when ever i tried to conect to a wifi in a hotel room , if the hotel has a webpage where you have to sign in before using the wifi the portal will not let you connect at all it doesn't have website support

Love having my ps games portable. The screen is the right size compared to my iPhone previously. I think the WiFi issues are not great. The portal uses ps remote same WiFi as your home network which competes with others using the same WiFi. My internet is gigabit but my slow Google wifi creates network contention. It has pretty poor WiFi reception on top of that. When no one’s streaming it works great.

5 Stars - a Must have if you're a parent with a newborn and can't play at your ps5 then get the Portal! Got friends and family that always hog the tv forcing you to wait until the kids go to bed? Play now with the Portal! By all means playing on your PS5 is your best option, but that's why the Portal is great! - it's an option. I will be using it a TON as soon as my 2nd baby boy arrives in 2 weeks.

Goes well with ps5! Great to have this gadget! I can play ps5 games anywhere in the house
