I play the ps5 and games more often, since i dont have to be in the same room. I do wish it had bluetooth and a way to store games. Other then that its been a great buy

The idea of it is great, but even if the internet I’m using at home or away is optimal, the device has a lot of buffering issues and sometimes just doesn’t work.

Pros: great seem less display that lasts several hours, can access any digital game installed on my PS5 and any game disc that is in the disc drive at the time, acts as an additional controller for the PS5 its connected to.
Cons: can take a little while to connect to the PS5 with a good Wi-Fi connection, does not allow to switch between profiles (even if multiple profiles are set up on your main console), does not allow other profiles to play on the main console while the portal is being utilized (may allow during multiplay, but I haven't tested this)
Had I known the cons above going into the purchase I still would have purchased a d may have rated this higher. If they make new versions/releases of this device I'd love to see the cons improved upon. At this point, It's basically a remote play accessory that has a controller and screen. O would not let pay more than the retail price for this device ($199.99 at time of purchase)

While this item does exactly what it says it does, I’ve experienced some problems with connectivity. Most of the time it gets resolved by resetting the ps portal, but it’s kind of annoying having to do that every time I wanna use it.

The best thing , you can chill in bed while playing and take it in the go which is even better. If you get a WiFi box from your phone provider it works perfect together. Definitely recommend !

As I've moved into the next stage of life (fatherhood) I was looking for a product that would still allow for me to game from time to time with the limited personal time I have. The Playstation Portal is the exact product I was hoping for! Easy to setup, online play was smooth, and a great travel companion no matter where you are traveling. So far extremely happy with the product!

The screen is very nice, can get very bright and color accurate. The controls are very comfortable, feels exactly like a dual sense controller. Works great as long as you have a good stable network connection. I am able to play at my friends house while my PS5 is at home on a wired network connection with no issues. I just got my pulse explore earbuds today and so far they are good so far.

I bought this as an impulse buy, Silent hill 2 was coming out while I had to work, I wanted to play it without it being spoiled, so I bought the portal to play while I was at work. Unfortunately, the PlayStation portal is not what I was hoping for. I was expecting a handheld that could play games properly, while only lagging occasionally. What I actually got, is a handheld that can't do much outside of your house.
It would lag consistently during any play session, it didn't matter what I played, could be playing anything from a night in the woods, to re4 and I would lag the whole time. The quality of the screen is good, but it doesn't matter when the portal can't play anything above 720 p. And on top of that, the audio is always crackling and popping, never once have I had the audio playing properly.
The hardware itself is nice, the controllers feel good to hold and don't cramp my hands like the Switch's joy cons. The screen looks very good (when it works) and it has an audio jack which is a very underrated feature.
Overall, the hardware is flawless, I can't really think of anything negative when it comes to that. However, it does not matter if the product does not work properly, and this does not. Maybe in 5 or 10 years when I can play games without any lag, maybe it would be worth it. As it is, it's not worth 100$, let alone 200$.

If you are a casual gamer, you will love this. Anyone who values immediate response time will not. I happen to fall into the latter of the two categories. Good build quality and software.

Since the update that allows you to connect to your PS5 through WiFi or hotspot it became worth the purchase. There are a few things like non responsive input or getting stuck scrolling. Also a little lag, but it works for what I need it for.

In my honest opinion, I felt PlayStation missed the mark a little bit…start off with the screen. It would’ve been amazing if it was a OLED screen and higher refresh rate, which will make playing online AAA games more enjoyable, hopefully the next gen will provide one. I wish I came with LTE option. it’s a bit a nuisance defaulting your PS5 settings i.e 1080p and other settings to accommodate the portal. Hopefully, the next update can take care of the annoying step. Overall, i feel that Playstion has a great idea and can make big improvements with the next version of the Portal. I will recommend it for those who would like to play games aside from their television gaming monitor. I was just saying don’t get your hopes up in terms of your expectations. as I stated earlier device but slightly missing the mark. Hopefully my review makes sense.

It is an excellent device if family members often use a TV connected to a PS5. Runs the games installed on the PS5 via RemotePlay. There is no lag with PS5 connected with the cable to the router. Very light and ergonomic, I can play for 2-3 hours without fatigue lying on a couch or in bed. The only drawback is no Bluetooth connectivity, so either wired headphones or new PS earbuds.
